《Only A Kiss || TinCan》Chapter 01- Apologize!

_______________
"P'Tin..." I heard my name being called behind me as I walk to the economics classroom 5. I turned around to see a girl all flushed and with her head down, holding a paper in her hands.
Seriously? This is already like the fifth time this week.
"What do you want?" I asked coldly, "I hope you understand that you are wasting my time."
"For you..." She says while trembling, extending the letter that she expects me to take.
Well, big mistake.
"I'm not interested."
"B...but..."
"You're wasting my time."
She freaks out, her eyes opened wide and little tears start coming out of them and her mouth squeaks.
What is her problem? It is not necessary to exaggerate the reactions so much.
I begin to hear the murmurs around me in the hall.
"The ice king did it again..."
" Poor girl..."
"Someday it will be his turn to be the rejected..."
Everyone sees who they suppose is my new victim, took pity on her, while they see me as if I were the devil.
Although I am not interested in how they see me or what they say about me, their opinions have a zero effect in my life.
"Tin." I hear another voice calling me, a familiar one, perhaps one of the few people who have something of value in my life and in whom I can trust.
He approaches me and looks at the woman who is still crying in front of me with pity.
"Don't cry please..." He says while extending a handkerchief to dry his face.
Pete has always been like this. Since I've known him, he has been the kind of person who tries to tuck the weakest under his arm and because of that, he has been easily mocked and used. However that never seems to be enough to change his attitude, he never learned.
A fool, a real fool to be honest.
Since my friend is willing to do the work here, I walk away and went back to the classroom. When I get to the room, I sit down to an available seat and started taking notes from the previous class.
"Tin!" I heard Pete, who has come almost behind me, called me.
"What's wrong, Pete?" I asked while still reviewing my noted.
"You can't reject a woman like that...that's just not right." Pete says in an attempt to pretend to be upset, which he wasn't really successful because he's never been angry with anyone.
"When you confess your feelings, there is always a probability of rejection, and people should learn to accept that possibility. That girl knew what was going to happen, I can't take care of her wrong decisions."
"Even if you didn't like her, you could have been nicer when rejecting her." Pete answers while sitting next to me, also takes his notes as the classroom begins to fill with people. Some are even watching us like they cannot understand how a person like Pete and I, who are somewhat with opposite attitudes, are so close
Well, sometimes I don't understand it either, then I remember that I was also like him once, naive and silly...surrounded by people whom I believed to be my friends.
"If I had been nicer then she would have kept some hope in her feelings and I'm not the kind of person who leaves things by halves." I answered as the teacher enters, I see how Pete tries to tell me something else, but I spoke first.

"Enough, the class is about to begin. It is not necessary that you continue with this topic, better concentrate on your notes."
The rest of the 5 hours, we dedicate ourselves to taking our courses and when the university day ends, Pete comes out after me again.
Something is happening to him and I'm sure there is something he wants to tell me in addition to what happened this morning. I know him well enough to know that he is searching for the rights words to tell it to me.
"Just say it." I said as we continue walking.
"What?"
"Whatever you want to tell me, do it now before I get in the car."
"Well...Ae..."
There goes that name again.
"He said that next week is the inter faculties camp, which lasts for 5 days and I thought... we could go."
"And I suppose your friend Ae is going to go too, right?" From the look in his face, it is clear that that boy will.
Lately, everything he does involves that boy from the engineering school.
"Yes...all the engineering faculty and the other faculties will go."
"But people like us don't mix with people like your friend." I emphasized, marking the new friends that Pete has been making during the last time.
I really thought that after his last experience, where he was harshly blackmailed, he would finally learn his lesson but he is committed to seeing the "bright side" in every person he meets.
"Tin, don't say that, Ae and his friends are not like that..."
"You're wasting your time trying to convince me, I won't go. Not only because I don't exchange words with low-level people, but also because I have far more important things to do than waste a whole week on a bunch of idiots."
"But there will be assemblies with important people in the industry, it would be good if we woul---"
"I don't need any chat, I can get them myself."
It's not like I don't have the means or the contacts to get it, even Pete could if only he wanted to. But we think the same way, neither of us abuses our state in life. Even though we could have whatever we wanted with just a snap of our fingers, we prefer to win it on our own merit.
"But Tin, if you don't go, I won't have anyone to go about the talks in economics...and I'll be sleeping with people I don't know in the cabin."
"You can sleep with your friend Ae if you feel lonely." I told him then turned around to see his face changed to three shades of red in a few seconds.
It's not like I didn't realize that Pete had feelings for that boy. Anyone who saw it from the outside would quickly realize, all the more reason why I should intervene, before it is too late for him.
"I...you know that the cabins are assigned by faculties." He stutters and seems somewhat disappointed by that.
He doesn't even bother to hide it.
Maybe he doesn't realized that he did not deny that he wants to sleep with that boy but he cannot.
Things are progressing faster than I thought, if I let it continue then Pete will be used again and this time it could be worse.

"I'll think about it." I answered as he only smiled widely.
"I said I'll think about it, it's not a yes." I remarked but his happy face doesn't fade even for a bit.
"Goodbye Tin!" That guy even had the audacity to wave at me with his face glowing with pure happiness.
When I get to the parking lot, I had thoughts that maybe I shouldn't go to so much trouble for what Pete does. I have advised him many times about this and his new friends, those whom I always recommend him to better to stay away from.
On the other hand, I also think that this could be an opportunity to show him how they really are, to remove the mask and see what really are the true colors of the people he is surrounded by.
It's only five days, five days in which I could do many other things than waste my time trying to convince my friend.
But hey, I guess I could make an exception.
When I start the car and get out of the parking lot, I hit the brakes harshly when I almost hit a crossing child who fell to the ground looking scared.
"Hey!" He said while scratching his head.
I look at him from head to toe and saw that he is wearing a really dirty sports clothes, his face also has some grime and he is all sweaty.
"You almost ran me over! Apologize!" He yells as he hits the glass of my car.
How annoying.
I scrolled the glass slightly and looked at him. He looks at me indignantly while my face does not change at all.
"If you don't know how to walk down the street, it's not my problem." I said then bring up the glass again.
He starts yelling me a lot of other things that I don't paid attention to as I drove my car away from him.
***
Ouch...
That idiot, my head still hurts.
There are really very rude and inconsiderate people on campus. He could have run over me! Yet, I didn't even get a single pardon. That definitely ruined whatever is left of my day.
"You're late, Mom is going to get angry." Lemon, my younger sister, tells me.
"Your brother could have died today! And you only dedicate yourself to making fun of me!" I answer while I go to my room as she makes her appearance in pajamas and with a manga, surely yaoi content, in her hand.
"Dead? I can see you are still looking good! Don't lie to sneak away, the kitchen is still dirty!" She says while tapping her foot on the floor.
"Aaay! Aaaay! How it hurts!" I say as I exaggeratedly hold my head, as if it were going to get out of place.
"Stop acting! I'll tell mom you didn't clean anything!" She screams and disappears angrily, but I don't care because today is Fall Out night .
I turn on the computer and put the game on, while waiting for it to load, I received a message in the engineering football group chat.
Says our Captain, Techno.
Responds Type, our second coach.
I swallow when I think of the thousands of laps that they are going to force us to do if we miss the camp, and the added three hundred abdominal crunches and what it will do to our our spines...and...God...
Right away, I see how everyone begins to answer by putting in the chat. My friend Ae and Good both also gave their OKs.
I also want to go but...I get up from the chair and checked my piggy bank which is...empty.
"Devils..."
"I could ask Mom..." I thought but then I remember that I already asked her for Fall Out with the promise that I would not ask for more for this month.
Hmm...other than Mom, I just have...
"My beautiful sister." I said to Ley while entering her room.
At that moment, I see how she closes her netbook quickly but not before having seen two naked men kissing on the screen.
"God...my eyes!" I say and cover my face with my hands.
"What are you doing here?" She yells and throws a pillow against me.
Yes gentlemen, my sister is one of those girls.
"I just wanted to come and see you and I find you here...seeing...what you were seeing..."
"You didn't see anything." She answers, approaching me while pointing a finger at me, so close to my eyes that my head starts to hurt.
"Okay, alright. I didn't see anything."
"Well thats what you want? Because I doubt that you have come here just to praise my beauty."
"I need money..." I answer while I cling to the door with a face of absolute pity, "...to go to the inter faculties camp."
"How is it that you are the oldest but you are the one with no notion of the importance of saving money? Sometimes I think that I was born before you and our documents are changed." She tells me with a scrunched up face.
"As an adult I have many expenses..." I respond, feeling offended.
"You mean video games and sweets?"
"Ye---I mean no. They are adult things, things you could not understand yet."
At that moment my phone rings again. It's a group chat message and it's from P'Type.
I swallowed hard.
"Please! Please!" I begged, throwing myself at the legs of my sister who starts to kick me, she even kicked my head that has suffered too much this day.
Today, everyone seems to be determined to make me suffer.
"Okay! Let me go!" She answers and I quickly get up and hug her, took my cellphone and type immediately.
Fiuuh...I was saved.
"Now go!" Lemon says with a face of "I want to continue watching my filthy series", so I ran, went back to my room and saw that the game already loaded so I start playing immediately.
I can't help but get excited thinking that I will go to camp, that I will be in the competition, with all my friends and we will play games, swim in the lake and do many other things.
My day has started badly, but it has finished well...now, I just have to wait for next week to come.

Conquest Of Mortem
*NOTE* This novel is a war of attrition. To say anything less is a disservice to its demand. While comparable to other such works as Ulysses or Moby Dick, each sentence in Conquest is an enemy to be tackled. Not in the ways of difficulty but in absurd density that wishes nothing more than to destroy what patience you may have. Do not tackle chapters as you would ordinary chapters in an ordinary book. Tackle each chapter as a book unto itself. A foe to be vanquished, a period of life to leave behind. Seek to be master of this work. Seek to overcome. For in its design is the willpower, and the perseverance, and the strength of someone who sought meaning in struggle. As I discovered these in times of ultimate desperation, so I hope for you to discover these things. This novel is a love letter to your trials. May you overcome them. May you master them. May you become conquerer.- SeedSagaA literary epic for logophiles, philosophers, and poets alike. A journey into zeitgeist, the impact of media on culture, and the endurance of morality against an onslaught of hatred. These vague descriptions do little to compact Conquest's density into a bite-size summary. They do however relate the basest themes found within. A plot, if such can be surmised, is strung thinly across multiple perspectives, weaving together these concepts into a seemingly distorted tapestry of indecipherable events. Inspired by early 20th century modernism, Conquest will challenge the reader, and provide critique on the medium upon which all great stories are derived. Further interpretation is up to you now; an explorer among a sea of words. Venture on and discover what lies ahead, in...CONQUEST OF MORTEM
