《(TinCan) I Hate U.》the call

Suddenly a black van pulled up so close to them. The door opened and a bunch of muscular men wearing black outfits and masks jumped out.
5 seconds later, the van drove off. There's no sign of Tin and Can anywhere.
That night, Larry couldn't go to sleep. The look that Tin gave him when he was on the ground, being kick; will forever haunt him. He never want to hurt Tin. He just want Tin to look at him like he look at Can. He never thought Tin was abused at home. If he knew, he would never sent him home. He would never had done it.
Larry - (grabbed onto his head forcibly) Tin... why? Why didn't you tell me? Arg...
Just then, his phone on the counter rang. He slowly picked it up.
Larry - Hello?
It was man in his 30s and he sounded high from drug. Larry wasn't really paying attention to who was calling. He was still daunted by Tin.
Larry - what wish?
Larry finally remembers.
Larry - oh...it's you guys.
It was the group of gang that Larry had made a deal with them to go threaten Can to stay away from Tin.
Larry - so how was Can?
Larry's heart skipped a beat.
Larry - w-what did you said? To hell? You mean....he's dead?
Larry - (stood up as his heart pace rapidly) what have you done?! I only asked you to teach him a lesson, not to kill him!
There was a long pause on the other side of the phone. Then a very disappointed sign came out of the man's mouth.
Larry - (breath shaking) s-so...he's dead? Like... really dead?
Larry's legs failed him. He dropped to his knees and then to his butt. He felt like all his strength was being drained from his body.

(Larry- "Can's dead. He's really dead.")
Larry - where did ...you put the ...the body?
Larry felt like crying. He couldn't believe that this is really happening. Can is gone. What will happen to his mother and step-father if they know. Especially his step-father... it will be horrifying. How come everything that he did today ended up so wrong? This has to be a dream. It has to be!
The man cleared his throat and began to talk again.
Larry was too broken to even hear.
As much as Larry did not want to hear the last sentence, but he did. He burst out crying immediately.
Larry - No fucking way...who did you killed?!
Larry screamed at the top of his lung. He didn't even care if his loudness will wake up the people in the house. He's too devastated.
Man - (laughed at how innocent Larry is) like I told you before. This is how I survived this long... I have to have his friend killed because...my rule... 'no witnesses.' You'll see it when they come up on the news as to who are...missing. (Laughed again with his mouth close.) Remember... I have to have the 20 millions dollars in two weeks... and I want cash only. If you don't give it to me in time, I'm...coming for you.
Then the call ended.
Larry laid flat on the ground and cried hysterically.
Larry - ('what have I done....')

Cybernetic Dragon
Idea Seven, or Inter Dimensional Explorer Automaton Unit-7, has had a bit of an accident. Hijacking the egg of a dragon rather than its intended target of a bird egg, it isn't fully in control of its host brain. Rather the two, dragon and cybernetic AI interface, must work together to survive in a hostile world of magic, dungeons, beasts and adventurers. The AI must deal with being a machine from a world of science trying to carry out its mission of exploration, while the dragon, Rex, must deal with being a cyborg living with symbiotic nanotech that sets him apart from other dragons. What adventures await them? Author Note: I tagged this story GameLit because it contains concepts like levels, classes, and dungeon/beast cores. But, it isn't tagged LitRPG because no one has status screens, other than occasionally Idea Seven who likes to organize data into blue boxes. It isn't a natural function of the world to display level ups or skill ups with an announcer voice. I mention this to set expectations, because otherwise I feel like LitRPG fans might be disappointed by my lack of LitRPG elements while others might be turned off thinking I have a lot of LitRPG elements. I think that if you approach the story with an open mind you will appreciate the gradual way in which the main character learns and expands his understanding of how the world works, but the game mechanics aren't meant to take center stage to the actual story.

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.
