Dinner. Oh, dinner.

Dinner back at my house was basically my uncle shouting at me to come to eat, and it was something fairly simple, sometimes pasta, sometimes a soup, and rarely, takeout or a pizza, but dinner in this house, oh boy.

In order to have dinner, there was a number of tasks, and Jin, being the coordinated person he is, assigned each of us a task, and since it was my first time here, he paired me up with Namjoon (The pervert, from what I recalled) to fold the napkins and shine the cutlery; simple enough.

And that's how I found myself sitting down on a stool by the breakfast bar in the kitchen, shining up silver cutlery that was probably more expensive than everything I owned. Actually, scratch that, it was probably more expensive than me as a whole; since it was vintage.

At first, I was a bit reluctant about doing the task with Namjoon, my first impressions on him were not the best, after all, even so, I didn't argue with Jin, he seemed busy enough with preparing dinner, and I knew he'd be with us in the kitchen at all times; Namjoon wouldn't try anything with his hyung in the same room as him, right? Right?

Wrong.

As my hands worked the cloth into every crevice of the rose-patterned fork, I could feel eyes on me, someone's eyes on me, and it didn't take me ages to figure who it was. Raising my head, I was immediately met with Namjoon's stare. His rich brown eyes burnt holes into me, and I felt quite uneasy. His stare was just... too much.

I shrugged it off, going on with my task, sneaking a few glances at his hands every now and then to see how well he was doing with the napkins, and surprisingly, he was talented. He folded them with precision and elegance, he was very skilled, to say the least. I kept going with my task, not paying much attention to him anymore as I was going to finish.

Once I had finished, Jin urged us to finish what we started and set them on the dinner table. I had no idea about this setting up the table bullshit, I mean, I knew how to set up a small table, not a huge one that had eight people, and I had no idea where or how to set the medium forks, the small ones, and the small spoons and the even smaller ones! And do not get me started with the cups.

Noticing my confusion, Namjoon chuckled and my eyes settled on him, glaring a little. It had been at least five minutes and all I managed to set was the tablecloth and the rose bouquet, I was ultimately confused. I had no idea where or how to start, and the young man in front of me noted my distress, coming next to me in a mere instant. "Here, let me help." He offered, I nodded, I was in no situation to be a proud bitch and refuse.

He grabbed the assortments of cutlery, plate, and cups and set them in front of us, I was looking up at him the whole time, that is until he started pointing at the different dishes and what they were. There were the main, like flat plates, soup bowls, and shallow plates, also napkins, tablespoons, forks and knives, and finally water glasses. Eventually came the fancier additions, like bread plates, fish forks and spoons, fruit spoons and knives, underplate (which served as a decoration only), dessert forks, red wine glasses and white wine glasses, and mead glasses, which were just tall cups.

It was a lot to take in, to say the least, but with Namjoon's help, I managed to actually set the table properly, with his help of course, and eventually, I was on my last serving and he was done. I was very much concentrated on my task when I felt a pair of arms sneak around my waist, I jumped a little, but strong arms held me in place, and I felt a chin on my shoulder, followed by the sound of a sinister chuckle.

"I helped you, won't you pay me back?" Namjoon declared and I glared at the wall facing me, trying my best to remove myself from his tight grip, but oh no, he wasn't having that. I tried my best to struggle but he was strong, probably stronger than most of them.

His lips met my neck and I immediately felt alerted, I needed to get out of his grip, but no matter how hard I tried, his hold around me simply tightened and I started shaking; I did not want to be bitten.

As if he heard my thoughts, his grip loosened, but I still couldn't get away. I could feel his smirk against the flesh of my neck, "Your blood is flowing so fast through your body... Your heart is pumping so much of it..." He spoke, and I swallowed. Could he hear how much my heart was pumping blood? And my blood flow?

Oh who was I kidding, he's a vampire.

I couldn't help the trembling that took over my body, every single cell in my body felt ultimate fear and my whole body was shaking terribly. He sensed this and he chuckled, "I'm not going to bite you. In fact, none of us are." He spoke, and I could feel his tongue licking at my neck.

Ewww. He licked me. Ewww.

Even though his action was remotely grotesque (I mean, he literally put his saliva on my neck, that's just nasty.) at that moment, the only thing I was thinking of was the words he spoke, "What do you mean none of you are going to bite me?" I asked.

"Why, (Y/N)? Do you want to be bitten?" He asked and I tensed up, shaking my head. A laugh escaped his lips.

"Exactly. That's why we cannot bite you. Most brides who come here already knew they were going to be sucked dry, you didn't know, which means we don't have your consent, therefore, we cannot drink your blood." He stated, nibbling at my ear.

I tried to get out of his grip once more but I couldn't. If it were really like this, why didn't the other brides just refuse to have their blood drunk? Why didn't they just refuse? It was a strange reason, and I don't know why, but I felt like he wasn't telling me the whole truth.

"Besides, I'm not feeling that kind of thirst right." He added and I shivered; Jesus he was a creep. I started shaking again and tried my best to fucking push him away but he was holding onto me like a stone.

"Let me go," I demanded, he chuckled. "Why? Do I make you fidgety? Do I make you anxious?" He asked.

Yes, yes you do.

"No. You don't." I spoke fiercely, disallowing my fear to even peek through.

"Is that so? Then, tell me (Y/N), why are you shaking?" He asked, and I shrugged, "The situation you've put me in is uncomfortable. Now let me go." He grinned, finally letting go of my body and I rushed away from him, he had a priceless grin on his face.

"I like you." He stated.

"You're feisty, you're fun, you actually have a personality." He declared, rubbing his forearm before glancing at me again, and trust me, any girl, hell, anyone would legit melt at that glance.

"The other brides were all... submissive. Glad to see someone who's remotely different." He declared as he walked towards the door. "Oh and (Y/N)?" He turned back, taking one final look at me. "Yeah?"

"Next time, just say you don't want to. I may be a bit of a pervert but I'm not a rapist, I'll respect your wishes." He declared and left me on my own. Shrugging, I got out of the dining room myself and went to my own room, at least he acknowledged he was a perv...

As Namjoon entered his room, he couldn't help but chuckle. She was adorable, truly, but far too... strict on herself, it was a sad sight.

Don't be scared, (Y/N). Speak up for yourself.

Eventually, half-past seven o'clock came around and we all went downstairs for dinner, I had no idea where I'd be sitting, so I thanked the lord that Jin had placed name cards. Looking for my own, I noticed that I'd be sitting at the very end of the table. I wasted no time taking my seat, allowing myself to look at the two men who were closest to me.

To my right was a very lively pink-haired man, the smile he gave me screamed positiveness. He didn't give off any sort of negative or scary vibes, and I had trouble accepting he was actually one of them. I recalled him from my first meeting with them, he was just as smiley then as he was now, his name was Hoseok. I gave him a tiny smile back before I took a look at who was to my left. I couldn't really tell by face since he was basically sleeping on his plate, but I assumed it was Yoongi, and the name card simply confirmed my hypothesis.

I was about to shake him awake when I heard someone's voice, "Don't, unless you have death wishes." I turned to the statement, and obviously, it omitted from Hoseok. He let out a laugh.

"So, enjoying yourself?" He asked, I rose my eyebrows. Was it a trick question?

"Ah... Right... Living with seven vampires isn't really a holiday, is it?" He asked, giving me an apologetic smile and I shrugged my shoulders. "It's okay... I've only been bitten once so I suppose it's not that bad..." I stated, genuinely thinking that. After all, the other brides were apparently sucked dry from the moment they arrived, so I was one hell of a lucky lady.

Hoseok grinned at me and ruffled my hair, "You're so adorable. You're almost as positive as I!" He grinned and I couldn't help but laugh a bit. He was so hyperactive!

I was about to grab the bottle of water and pour myself a bit of it, but I was cut short by one other than Hoseok. "No! Please let me do that for you, it's the least I can do." He spoke as he grabbed the large bottle and filled my cup. I smiled, thanking him before I held the cup. I was about to drink when I was hugged by someone, sideways.

"(Y/N)-ah!" It was Tae.

I set the cup down as Tae literally sat on my lap, he didn't really sit, simply just straddled me onto my seat as to hug me properly. "I missed you, (Y/N)-ah!" His hug was tight, but not tight as in suffocating, tight as in... comforting.

"Yah! Let her go!" Someone else declared, and I recognized it to be Jimin. "You can't just... touch her like that! It's so impolite! Yah! Jin-Hyun-" He was cut short when I hugged him back.

"I want a hug too!" Jimin declared, moving forward and pushing Tae off of me, taking his place. I couldn't help but chuckle. They were so childish, you couldn't even tell that they were adults, let alone vampires!

Hoseok chuckled and peeled the two off of me, "Hey, leave her alone for now, (Y/N)'s probably hungry and if Jin comes up and finds you straddling her, there'll be consequences." He stated, ruffling their hair before they stomped away. I heard a groan from my left and I instantly turned sideways.

"Plus they were being so extra loud." Yoongi stated as he pulled back his hoodie, revealing his teal head of hair. Noticing my stare, he smiled lazily and looked at me, "Hey." I waved at him and he chuckled before he ruffled his hair, "My hair's extra soft, thanks to you." He declared and I couldn't help the heat that overtook my cheeks; did he really have to remind me of that?

In less than a second, he was facing me and my eyes were wide, "Is that a blush I'm seeing? Surely our little bath session didn't affect you this much." He declared, smirking all the way and I shook my head, refusing to admit the... wickedness of my thoughts.

"Yah! Yoongi-hyung! Leave (Y/N)-ah alone! She's my dolly!" Tae shouted from across the table, damn. I had only stayed with him like... two hours.

"Hey!!! She's mine! I bit her first!" Jimin declared. Oh?

Yoongi hissed quietly, "Shut up, Jimin. Stop saying nonsense... That doesn't work with her, just other brides." He stated. What did he mean? What exactly differentiated me from other brides again?

I was about to ask when Yoongi took his seat again, and I stared at him, he gave me a cold look, "Don't look at me." He stated, giving me the cold shoulder, I couldn't help but furrow my eyebrows, bipolar ass.

"What he means is that..." Hoseok spoke, "We can't really tell you now, you'll have to understand it on your own." He declared giving me a small smile, and I simply rose my eyebrows, crossing my arms. My expression basically demanded answers.

"Tell you what, (Y/N)-ah, ask me anything." He ordered, "And I'll answer it, and then I'll ask you anything and you have to answer it." He stated and I shrugged before nodding, it seemed like a fair trade.

"You start," He declared and I tapped my fingers against the wooden table, "What are you guys to each other? In details please." I demanded and he laughed, "Good question." He started before taking in a deep breath.

"We're paternal cousins. Technically, we're three sets of brothers who are cousins. Jungkook and I are brothers, there's also Yoongi and Jin, they're brothers as well, and then Namjoon, Jimin, and Taehyung are also siblings." He said, gesturing to the three sets of brothers that were sat around the table.

"Our fathers, my father, and my two uncles were very close and lived under this roof together. This was their family home." He continued, "We inherited it at birth. Each of us inherited a wing." He spoke, "We've been living here since their deaths." His eyes shadowed with sorrow at his speech, and I couldn't help but feel slightly guilty.

"And how did you guys tu-"

"Ah! One question!" He reminded and I huffed, he chuckled at my behavior. "My turn now," He told, and I looked up to him, "I'm an open book." I declared. Yoongi seemed to become very interested in the conversation all of a sudden.

Hoseok seemed to be thinking for a while before he looked at me, his stare was... unexplainable, he seemed both sad and confused, a hint of curiosity in the mix, and there was also something else in his eyes... Hope?

"What is it like to fall in love?"

I was taken back. I didn't know what to say, sure, I've had significant others before but... never did I actually think about love, in fact, I don't even think I ever fell in love with any one of them. The question seemed to attract everyone's attention, and as I was about to answer, Jin came into the room, ready to serve dinner.

"Hm. Silence, how come?" Jin questioned, and I was about to speak up, but Yoongi beat me to it. "They were just asking (Y/N) some bullshit questions. Let's just eat..." He declared, and I sighed, Hoseok gave me a look. "I'll answer you later, Hoseok." I promised and he grinned, "Thank you."

During the meal, they mostly stayed silent, and so did I. The only sounds came from Jimin and Tae's short arguments that were mainly stopped by Jin, he apparently didn't want to give Jungkook another reason to break another wall. I understood his point.

Despite the silence, I could still feel lingering eyes on my figure, and not one set of eyes, but seven of those. I never was one to like much attention, not that I was very shy mind you, I just felt uncomfortable when the attention was on me. I felt watched, and as much as I wanted to stand up and shout for them to stop looking at me like I was some strange specimen, I couldn't find the guts to actually stand up for myself.

They were vampires.

Once we were all finished, each of us was assigned a task by Jin, and thankfully I was stuck with Jungkook on 'Dishes Duty'. Gosh, Jin made everything sound so fancy.

"You two, don't ruin my kitchen." He warned, and we both nodded before heading inside.

"I wash, you dry, okay?" I offered, and he nodded, a petite smile upon his lips. Smiling back, I wasted no time in putting on gloves and taking the sponge.

I was very much into doing those dishes as I had never before, when I heard a chuckle, and my head turned instantly towards Jungkook. In a flat second, he wasn't leaning on the breakfast anymore, but he was right in front of me. He was fast.

Oh yeah, vampire.

"What is it? Do you need anything?" I asked and he shook his head, "Not really, you just have a little bit of soap foam on your chin," He stated and I raised my eyebrows.

"How did it even get there?" I asked, trying to wipe it off, but since my gloves had more soap foam on them, I was technically just worsening my situation. He had an amused expression on his face as he watched me struggle before speaking up, "Here, let me help you." He declared. I pulled my hand down, expecting him to help me, but he just dumped more soap on me and I gasped as he let out fits of laughter. How old was he, five?

Glaring at him, I grabbed a fistful of leftover mashed potato and smashed it on his hair. Hm, serves him right. I couldn't help but laugh as I watched his horrified expression.

"Ha! You look so cute like that!" I spoke, letting out laughs and he pouted, "(Y/N), you, you caused yourself a huge problem because I..."

"...I never lost a food fight before."

And that's how it started. We threw whatever leftovers there were at each other, laughing all the while, we looked like a mess, Jungkook had soup running down his face, whilst my hair was a mess of different aliments, my white blouse and his white tee became a mess of colors, we had onions stuck to our skin and we smelled like gazpacho because of all the mixed scents. All the whilst, we didn't feel Yoongi's eyes on us, we were far too busy playing around to notice anything. His stare was hard, stone cold, but eventually, he tore his gaze away and headed to his own room.

By the end of our food fight, we were a complete mess. We looked like two indelible and extremely heavy meals.

By the way, chocolate mousse, mashed potato, and hair do not mix well.

Don't try it.

I had fun that night. I laughed, I completely forgot that he was a vampire; I completely forgot that he was basically a complete stranger, I had just enjoyed myself. I laughed out loud, and so did he, we played, we had our fun. It was pure, innocent, fun. It was strange to me, mainly because I've had friends before, but I've never enjoyed my time with them as much as I enjoyed this childish moment with Jungkook. It was... shocking, but also relieving. Perhaps... Perhaps they weren't that bad.

Eventually, we stopped fooling around and cleaned the kitchen up, and even if it were a task, I still enjoyed it, I enjoyed every minute of it.

That was one of the best nights of my life.

After escorting me to my room and giving me clothes, as mine hadn't dried yet, I took another shower and quickly changed. It was a simple outfit, jeans, a white tee, my own flats and the same white zip-up sweatshirt I had on the day before. I dried my hair, did my makeup and went out. I was totally gonna ruin their water supply, I mean, who takes two showers a day? As I fixed myself, I couldn't help but feel a little bit strange. How come I had been so... outgoing with them today? I hadn't felt as much fear as I had before. It was... shocking. Almost as if... them being vampires didn't matter.

Did their nature really not matter?

I walked through the corridors, lost in my thoughts. I was roughly brought back to reality when a strong arm grabbed my hand and dragged me into a room, I was gonna swear the shit out of whoever did that, but I noticed it was Hoseok, so I just rose my eyebrows. He grinned before pushing me against the wall. Jesus, I thought we were done with that!

Blocking me in between his arms, he gave me a priceless grin, "Answer my question." He ordered and I gulped. Never in my life had I been so scared to disappoint, it probably had something to do with the fact that he was so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

Oh boy.
