《deal [M. ATSUMU]》27 ♪ Match

minutes before the match, the inarizaki team prepared at their locker room for the upcoming game. they were all getting dressed up while atsumu was seen pacing back and forth in front of the door.
"what's goin' on with you atsumu?" aran asked the blonde who didn't answer his question.
osamu, who was starting to get pissed off at his twin, walked up to him and smacked his shoulder. "oi, get it together!" he scolded. "you can't lose yer focus just before a match."
"you didn't have to hit me!" atsumu rubbed his shoulder. "and i am focused. i dunno what yer talkin' 'bout."
"i've never seen you this troubled before a match atsumu." laughed ginjima who had just worn his top.
suna, who was listening to the whole conversation, didn't bother saying anything. the boy continued to scroll on his phone while he waits for his teammates to finish changing.
"whaddya mean troubled? i'm perfectly fine!" atsumu replied, but he was still pacing back and forth as he stomped his feet.
"atsumu." kita spoke. atsumu finally came to a halt, freezing when he heard kita's voice. "focus."
"h-hai!" the boy nodded, scared that he actually annoyed their captain. kita went back to preparing their water bottles, while osamu rolled his eyes.
"if you really want to win, take this seriously." he says. "yer doin' this for [Y/N], aren't you?"
"course i am." he looks away, lowering his voice. osamu sneered and turned his back away from brother. before he could walk away however, atsumu grabbed his wrist which stopped him from walking.
"what?" osamu asked.
"can you... do somethin' for me?"
"well? d'ya see her?"
"calm down, i'm still lookin'!" osamu peeks from behind the wall, scanning the crowd to see if you were watching. "i can't find her."
"try harder!" atsumu groans behind his twin.
"then why don'tcha look for her yerself?!"
"i don't wanna get caught!"
behind them, akagi and aran were watching the twins who were peeking weirdly at the corner. "what are they doing?" aran asked.
"beats me." akagi shrugs.
meanwhile on the other side of the court, you were actually with seijoh and helping them prepare for the match. oikawa wouldn't let you go so you didn't have any other choice but to stay with them until the end of their match.
"you better watch me [Y/N]-chan!" oikawa told you while stretching his arms. "i've gotten better if i do say so myself."
"sure tooru." you sighed, knowing that your uncle was actually telling the truth. there was no denying that he was a really good player, but you knew atsumu was as well.
"don't mind him too much [Y/N]. you can go to your own team if you want." said iwaizumi who hit oikawa at the back of his head.
"ow! hey!" the setter groans in pain.
"it's fine, i'll stay here with you guys." you told them, hoping they would actually let you stay since you did not want to go to the crowd to watch them. you knew atsumu's fangirls would flip if you were to sit with them and adding heather to that list would just make things worse.

from afar, kindaichi watches you as you conversed with oikawa. he couldn't take his eyes off your beauty, and kunimi didn't fail to notice that. the smaller boy was still trying to figure out where he saw you, or who you visited back when you studied at kitagawa.
"i think i remember who she was visiting back then." kunimi says.
kindaichi instantly lights up, his ears growing at the news. "what? really?"
"yeah. i remember her always going home with–"
"alright guys! line up, the game's starting!" their coach suddenly called out, cutting kunimi off.
"with who?" kindaichi asked but kunimi started to sprint towards the team, ignoring him.
you stayed back near the entrance of the court to avoid any attention to yourself since you were already quite well known. you scanned the crowd and saw yuki at the front, she was near some of the fangirls who wore their bandanas and held some fans.
"there's no way i'm gonna sit there." you mumbled.
the two teams started to line up and faced each other. there, you saw atsumu who was looking at oikawa, and oikawa doing the same thing. you felt the tension in the air which made you gulp, your fingers growing cold from the nervousness you felt.
you had no idea what was going to happen from here on out, and you honestly have no idea what you were going to do after all this.
you knew atsumu's game style. you watched him several times before, and you knew how well of a player he was. same goes for oikawa, their tosses and serves were both very powerful.
but much to your surprise, the blonde haired setter wasn't doing well for the first set of the game.
there was no doubt about it and everyone in the crowd noticed it as well. his serves were mostly out or very normal compared to his powerful ones. he hasn't even scored a service ace yet which was a surprise, and at one point you even saw osamu shout at his twin for having sloppy tosses.
you clasped your hands together, not knowing what's gotten into atsumu. the deal was off and there was no need ro worry, but why were you anxious about it? perhaps you thought atsumu wasn't feeling well, or maybe he just decided to throw the match.
no, there's no way atsumu would throw away a match. he would never do that, it has to be something else. you thought.
you watched oikawa closely too, and there was no doubt that he got even better from the last time you saw him.
the first set ended with seijoh winning by 5 points. for the next set, it was atsumu's turn to serve. he walks behind the team, taking four steps.
a jump floater. iwaizumi, who was at the back, was about to receive it but was quick to move away. "out!" he shouts.
the ball was indeed out, making seijoh earn a point. atsumu clicked his tongue in annoyance, clenching his fist together.
everyone watched the match progress. as of now, they had a deuce. inarizaki was somehow in the lead by a point, and all they needed was one more to win the second set. everyone grew tense, their eyes never leaving the court.

you did the same thing, keeping your eyes at atsumu for the whole game. you could see everyone starting to pant, growing tired as each second rolls by.
again, it was atsumu's time to serve. the cheers were louder than ever before while he walked to the back. you wanted to do something about it, to tell him something so he could go back to how he was playing before.
for some reason, you didn't want him to lose.
"ATSUMU MIYA!" you screamed from the side of the court. everyone's cheers stopped the moment they heard your shout, their eyes immediately shifting towards your direction.
your heart beated faster than ever when you felt everyone's eyes on you. atsumu widens his eyes when he heard your voice, stopping for a brief second.
"is... iS THIS THE BEST YOU'VE GOT?! WIN THIS MATCH JACKASS!" you felt like you strained your throat from how loud you tried to scream.
a sudden wave of embarrassment hit you, not knowing why you did what you just did. it was like the first time you met atsumu, but you disrupted his performance intentionally this time.
"[Y-Y/N]-chan?" yuki, who was watching from the crowed, gasped at your sudden appearance.
oikawa teared up at what you said, feeling down that you didn't cheer up for him.. "how cruel [Y/N]-chan..."
atsumu blinks, then regains his posture. in his mind, he thought, "of course i'm winnin' this. i made a new deal after all, and there's no way i'm gonna lose to that." he remembered the conversation he and suna had just before the match started.
"i made a deal with myself." said atsumu to the taller boy.
suna looks at him in confusion, "ha?"
"whatever the outcome of the match is, i'm still breakin' up with her." the blonde states, only confusing suna more.
"what kind of deal is that?"
"if i lose, i'm breakin' up with her and ending the deal. if i win however, i'm still breaking up with her."
suna scrunched his nose, "are you okay?"
"i'm not done yet aight!" atsumu argued. "if i win, i'm breaking up with her to make her my real girlfriend this time."
suna watches your small figure go back to the side, your face flushing red from embarrassment. he looked at atsumu who seemed to have grown more motivated than ever. "guess that little speech worked.", he thought.
and so, atsumu served and this time, finally serving a service ace. everyone in the crowd cheered, happy to see atsumu back on his game. he looks at you from afar, smiling widely.
you didn't fail to not see his wide grin, making you smile as well. your heart skipped a beat. his heart skipped a bit. without any of you knowing, you both felt the exact same way at that moment.
inarizaki won the second set, so now the final set had began. you could see oikawa getting more pumped up, seeing that atsumu was doing better than he was the last two sets.
it was just a practice match but everyone who was watching felt like it was an official match happening. the players were all so serious and they tried to take every point seriously.
you notice atsumu actually smiling sometimes while he tossed to his teammates, and his serves were more accurate. oikawa and his team didn't back up however, and played just as good.
sweat dripped down from all the players, the sounds of the squeaking of their shoes loudening as time went by. the final set was almost finished with inarizaki on the lead by two points. then it came to a deuce, and then...
"iwa-chan!" oikawa passes the ball to iwaizumi, who was ready to hit it. iwaizumi spots an opening and spiked the ball.
unfortunately, he didn't see suna who had already read their moves. the boy blocks iwaizumi's spike, sending the ball back on their side and hitting the ground. suna smirked, happy the match was already over with.
"we... we won..." you finally let out a deep breath, feeling very relieved. the crowd roared, happy with the result that their team won. you saw oikawa flaring his nose, annoyed that they lost by a pinch. iwaizumi hit his back, saying stuff to make him calm down.
both teams lined up again, bowing to the audience to thank them. seijoh walked towards you, and you began to sweat bullets remembering what you just said earlier.
"h-hey guys! y-you all did very well..." you scratched your head awkwardly, finding it hard to look at them.
"it's alright [Y/N]-chan. you were just trying to cheer up your boyfriend that's all." matsukawa ruffled your hair.
"wait... b-boyfriend?" kindaichi stuttered when he heard what matsukawa said.
"did you not know why we had a match here in the first place?" was what kunimi wanted to say, but decided against it and kept quiet.
"[Y/N]-chan why didn't you cheer for me?!" oikawa whined, opening his arms to hug you but you quickly scooted away.
"you are not hugging me in that state tooru." you pointed at his sweaty uniform. "but for real, you guys did amazing." you praised.
they all said their thanks and went to go change to the locker room so they could go home. you watched them walk away, realizing how much they grew as a team. especially oikawa, who was doing a great job as their captain.
"[Y/N]." someone called you from behind. you turned, seeing atsumu standing there with a towel around his neck.
"atsumu." you bit your lip, finding it really awkward already. "hey."
the boy took a deep breath, preparing for the words he was about to say. "let's end the deal."

8 180Reborn Magician Tyrant [Old]
Author's Note #4: This is the old, hastily written version. A great magician from the Human Kingdom travels west to fight the Demon Kingdom. Finally, after eight long years of war, the Human Kingdom emerges triumphant! But, just as the Human Kingdom begins to celebrate the victory, an enemy from a land far to the east attacks! After rushing to help support the Human Kingdom capital against the assault, the magician is met with the sight of his beloved city razed to the ground. The magician fights off whatever invaders he can, using whatever tactics he knows, but he is eventually felled in combat due to the superior abilities of the invaders. However, death is not the end! The magician reincarnates, awakening as a citizen of the empire which conquered his home! Author's Note #3: Okay, that's the end for me. This is too boring for me to continue writing, and I've gotten back to writing Reborn as a Dungeon Core in an Apocalyptic World. At 26,772 words, this has gotten too boring for me to continue. I'm probably going to take this basic story and rewrite it into something way better w/ longer chapters, but at least I had fun for the six days it took to write this much. PS - Love the reviews; they're great. Way to go, dude with 22 thumbs up and 0 thumbs down!
