"why did you agree to that?!" you paced in your room, wondering how it got to this point.
"i had to! he was challengin' me." atsumu explained. "and will you stop pacin'? yer worryin' too much."
currently, atsumu was sat on your bed while you walked back and forth in front of him. after accepting oikawa's deal, you dragged him to your room to talk to him in private leaving oikawa and takeru in the dining room.
"that was such a stupid deal to begin with. we're not even in a real relationship!"
"i told you, he was challengin' me! i never back down from a challenge, especially when you said he was also a setter." he scoffed. atsumu was still watching you circling around your room in panic.
"hey."
"this is bad..." you murmured.
"oi." he called out once more, but you didn't notice him.
"what if you lost? then the deal would be over, and you'd really break my ankles this time–"
"hey!" atsumu stands up and grabs your arm, stopping you from pacing. you look up to the taller boy, the thoughts in your mind vanishing as soon as you did so. "stop worryin', 'kay? i'll win. i promise."
"...and if you don't?"
"then deals over. we'll end it, and i promise i'll leave you alone."
"any ideas on what we should do for the upcoming school festival?" the class representative stood in front of the room, announcing what your section would do for the festival.
"what about a maid cafe?"
"how 'bout the girls are butlers, and the boys would be maids!"
"w-what?! no way!"
your classmates argued back and forth, meanwhile you were hunched to your seat as you stared out the window. your thoughts were swallowed by what happened earlier at your house. after you left, oikawa said he would be going back home to prepare for the match he and atsumu would have. you were worried of course, thinking of the worst case possible.

"[L/N]-san. your vote?" the class representative called out to you.
"huh?" you snapped out of your thoughts, unaware of what was happening around you.
"what's your vote? everyone has already casted their's, you're the only one left."
"uhm..." you didn't know what they were talking about so you decided to guess. "the first one...?"
"alright, maid cafe it is."
you didn't know if you made the right decision or not but almost instantly the girls in your class glared at you. you gulped, already finding out the answer to your question a few seconds ago.
the class made a few more discussions on how they should plan the whole thing before being dismissed for lunch. a maid cafe...? i know jackshit about being a waitress! hopefully i can stay with cooking... you thought.
you sighed as you got out of the room. you were going to find atsumu, but a hand already pulled you in a corner. "hey!"
"listen here." the hand was still holding your arm, the person's grip tightening on you even after they'd stopped walking. "i know you're not in a real relationship with atsumu."
it was heather. you rolled your eyes in annoyance, hoping that the conversation would end already. "what now heather?"
"stay away from atsumu." she made her voice deeper, mirroring how she dug her nails to your skin. you hissed in pain when you felt her long red nails piercing your arm. "got it?"
"sorry sweetie, but i don't think i can." you smirked at the girl, which only fueled her anger more.
"i know what i heard back in that classroom with suna. don't think you can get with this so easily [L/N]." after she finished her sentence, she finally lets go of your arm.
"goodluck then." you said. when she turned her heel and walked away, you let your tongue out to mock her, hoping she wouldn't turn back again. you groaned in annoyance and started walking away as well, still feeling the slight pain on your arm from where she dug her nails.

"hey, where you goin'?" atsumu called out from behind you. you turned around to greet the same boy you've been looking for. "i was looking for you."
he raised a brow by your posture. you were holding your arm by some reason, and bothered him. "what happened?" he asked.
"nothing. why?" you lied as you shifted your gaze elsewhere. you didn't want him to deal with heather anymore, specially with what happened yesterday.
"show me." he saw through lies and eyed your arm, knowing it was not "nothing" at all.
"like i said, nothing happen–" before you could even finish, atsumu grabbed the hand that was holding your arm out. you hissed in pain once more, suddenly feeling the stinging of the cut. it revealed your blouse seeping with blood from your arm, causing atsumu's eyes to widen.
"yer bleedin'! what the fuck happened? no, explain it to me later. i'm takin' you to the nurse's office." he starts waking away , bringing your smaller body with him.
"h-hey! can you walk slower?"
"d'ya want me to carry you again?"
"absolutely not."
moments later you arrived at the clinic. atsumu slides the door open, but no nurse was present. "she must be having lunch." he thought. "sit down there, i'll clean it up for ya."
"you know how to?" you obeyed him and sat down one of the beds while atsumu looked for the tools he needed for healing your cut.
"i play volley so i obviously get injured a lot." he came back with some cotton balls, alcohol and bandages. "show me yer arm."
you did what he told you and rolled up your sleeves, revealing the five finger nail shaped cuts. atsumu wasn't dumb to not notice what it was either. "who did this to you?" you saw his face suddenly darkened which worried you. you stayed silent, hoping to avoid another drama between him and heather.
"answer me [Y/N]." he placed alcohol on the cotton ball and started to dab it on your skin.
"ow..." you yelped in pain once you felt it stinging.
"oi." he hardens the dabbing of the cotton ball, providing you with more pain.
"alright alright i'll talk! stop that it hurts!" you whined. "i-it was heather..."
"i fucking knew it. she never stops!" he pressed harder, making tears form at the side of your eyes. atsumu was quick to notice and calmed down. "sorry, i was just..."
"it's fine." you gave him a small smile. "don't worry about heather, i can take care of myself." he didn't answer for a moment. you watched him wrap bandage around your arm once he was finished cleaning up the blood.
"was she the reason you were soaked that one time too?" he asked. you remembered the day water suddenly dropped from above you and how you heard a girl's laughter after that. now that you think of it, it sounded so much like that redheaded girl.
"well?" he asked once more when you didn't answer him.
"i'm not sure if she was the one who did it but–" you answered.
"so someone did that to you?"
"yeah–"
"and you didn't even bother tellin' me?!" he raised his voice which shocked you.
"calm down atsumu." he finished tending your arm and placed the tools back to the cabinet. you examined your arm, the pain slowly fading away.
atsumu comes back to you, "go eat without me."
"what? why?"
"it's none of yer business. don't wait up for me later as well."
you furrowed your brows, "atsumu if you're mad about me not telling you i'm–"
"i'm not mad." was all he said before walking out to the door. "see ya." he closed it behind him, leaving you alone in the clinic.
