"alright [Y/N]-chan! we've got a new project comin' up." honoka announced to you just as you walked into the club room.
"really?!" your eyes sparkled, excited to find out what you would be taking a photoshoot of next.
"yup! the theme is~" honoka did a little drum roll with her hands on her lap. "passion!"
"passion?" you tilted your head. "that's it?"
"yup! the chosen photo will be up on the school's bulletin board like a poster!" she clapped her hands, thrilled of the new project that's yet to come. "i wish you luck!"
you left the clubroom soon after she told you why she called you there in the first place. you were in disoriented, what were going to do with passion? you placed your fingers in your chin, letting your thoughts consume you.
"passion... passion... passion..." you mumbled as you walk out of the school building. you thought long and hard, what came to mind when you first thought of the word passion?
you didn't realize it but as you were walking, the sounds of squeaking of shoes and volleyball dribbling were heard as you got nearer to the gym. you only stopped and snapped out of your deep thought when you saw the lights peeking from inside the gymnasium.
"they're still practicing?" you whispered. you walked towards the door, peeping at the corner to see what the volleyball club was doing. as usual, they were playing and practicing as hard as they can. you heard that there were tournaments coming up, so they were busier than ever.
you didn't know how long you were there watching them play, you were just in awe about the whole thing. nobody could deny that they were a really great team and seeing them play was a whole other experience. you also didn't notice that most of the time, you were only watching a specific blonde.
a couple of minutes later, kita called them out saying that they were done for the day. was i watching that long? you thought. since you were already there, you decided to wait up for atsumu so the two of you could go home.
one by one the members walked out of the gym. you first saw aran and akagi who waved at you. kita also went out and gave you a nod, then suna followed shortly after.
"oh, hey [Y/N]. you waiting for atsumu?" he asked. you saw him burying his face with the collar of his jersey for some reason.
"yeah! club activities just ended so i thought i'd just wait up for him!" you lied.
"[Y/N]! were you waitin' for me?" atsumu, who was walking next to osamu, had a fake smile on his face. you could tell right off the bat that he was annoyed about something.
"yeah, would you mind if i go home with you and atsumu?" you asked osamu.
he replied with a nod, "sure, why not–"
"no no, we'll be off." atsumu cuts osamu off, walking pass his brother and made his way next to you. he grabbed your hand, which was slightly cold due to how the temperature was this time around, and intertwined his fingers with yours.
"i'll be goin' on a date with [Y/N]." you were sure that for a second, atsumu glared at suna.
"i am?" you questioned. atsumu never mentioned anything about a date.
"you are." he continued for you. osamu raised his brow up, waiting for you to answer.
"i am, apparently." you mumbled the last word, unsure of what was happening. why would he drag you on a date out of nowhere?
"aight then, we'll be off. see ya home 'samu! oh, and you too suna." he displayed that fake smile you noticed earlier again before dragging you away from them.
"hey, hey slow down!" atsumu was practically speed walking away from school grounds. "why are you in a hurry?"
he tightened the grip on your hand, not being able to let him go even if you wanted to. "i'm not." he denied.
"yes you are."
"am not."
"am too."
"am not!"
"am too."
"fine! i'm in a hurry so ya better keep up!" you two were basically running now, still hand in hand.
"h-hey! i'm not as athletic as you, y'know that right?!" you were trying to catch your breath. atsumu was already in front of you, nothing but streetlamps lighted the path you were running on.
"then you leave me with no choice." atsumu finally stops running and turns to you. you blink, waiting for what he was going to do next.
"what?" you question. he then lowers his legs and turns around from you again.
"hop on." he signals for you to climb on his back.
"what?!"
"i said hop on!"
"why would i–"
"because i said so!"
you rolled your eyes. you didn't want to deal with his stubbornness anymore. without any other choice you climbed onto his back, your arms wrapping around his shoulders.
"atsumu i swear to god if you do one stupid thing i'm gonna–"
"hold on tight princess!" without warning, atsumu lifts up your body and grabs your legs for support. in an instant, your height was doubled from him carrying you.
"atsumu!" you shrieked in surprise when you were suddenly hoisted up from the ground. "you could've at least given me a warning!"
"too late!" he laughs and started running. your hands tightened the grip on his shoulders from nervousness.
"where are we going, exactly?!"
"yer just gonna have to wait and see!"
you never would've imagined atsumu miya giving you a piggy back ride when you first met. the beating of your heart couldn't stop, you couldn't stop yourself from smiling as well. you blamed it on the adrenaline.
yeah, that's it. it's just adrenaline that's making me feel this way. you thought.
a couple of minutes later and atsumu stops himself from running. you looked down at him and waited for his orders. "well?" you asked. "we here?"
"stop starin' at me princess and look at the view." you felt the need to give him a small punch, but when you look up you saw a very beautiful view of the night's sky. "whaddya think?" atsumu asks, panting from being out of breath.
"it's..." the stars were twinkling above you. you were at the egde of a cliff, a bench placed just right ahead of you. there were railings at the ends of the land that would prevent anyone from falling. there was a lightpost beside the bench, providing light for anyone that was passing by.
"beautiful, ain't it?" he continued your statement. you glanced up at the sky, nothing but the sight of the shinning stars right before you. you rarely went out this time at night so a view like this was really rare for you.
"very." you said, still admiring what was above you. you wished you brought your camera with you to get a photo of the fantastic view.
atsumu smiles. he hoped he could've seen your face this very moment but unfortunately you were behind him. "mind if i bring you down now?"
"finally." you sighed when he finally placed you down the ground. you straighten your skirt before glancing at atsumu who was staring at the night's sky. "you come here often?"
"only when i need fresh air, or when i'm annoyed."
"i'm guessing it's the latter right now?" you chuckle, remembering the face he made earlier.
atsumu turns his head to you, frowning a bit. "was it that obvious?"
"i could tell you were in a sour mood since lunch, care to tell me why?"
atsumu heaves out a sigh and placed his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "i don't know why either."
"if you ever need to talk, believe it or not i'm here to listen." you smiled at the blonde, hoping he'd trust your words. before atsumu could say anything, you grabbed his hand and dragged him to the nearby bench. "let's rest here for a bit, you must've been tired."
"yeah well carryin' you wasn't an easy task."
"oh shut up."
you both sat down the bench, not realizing you were still holding each other's hand. the only sound that surrounded you were the rustling of trees and the sound of cars passing by at the bottom of the cliff, it was a really peaceful moment for the two of you. maybe if you were closer to each other, you would've heard the other's rapid heartbeat.
"why did you drag me here all of a sudden? i didn't hear about anything about a date." you asked atsumu, his thumb unconsciously playing with yours.
"had to get you away from suna–" he stopped, realizing how awful he must've sound. "i mean, i had to do somethin' to convince the others don't i?"
"there's no reason to convince your teammates though right? isn't the purpose of this whole thing just to make your fangirls back off–"
"i don't know [Y/N]!" his voice suddenly raised as he turned to look at you. "i... i don't know. i've been thinkin' of stuff i shouldn't be thinkin' and feelin' stuff i normally don't feel! it's... confusin' me." he confessed, slowly tearing his gaze away from you and back to his hand that was holding yours.
"well..." you were genuinely just confused about what he said. "what are you thinking of then?"
atsumu paused for a moment. was he really gonna say it? what would you even think of him after he says that he's been thinking about you? will you laugh at him? find him creepy?
"oi, spill it." you frowned when you saw him hesitating.
soon, he finally gave in. "i was thinking about y–"
"R- r- r- roll up to the party with my crazy pink wig~
But I can't get through the door because my booty's too big~"
your ringtone suddenly went off in the middle of atsumu's statement. "oh, sorry just a sec." you let go of his hand to scuffle your bag, trying to find your phone.
atsumu froze, she has another weird ringtone.
you looked at the caller ID, it was your brother calling you again. "takeru? what's up?" you answered.
"nee-chan where are you? i'm bored!"
"alright alright i'm coming home. i'll be there in ten minutes okay?"
"please bring home some chips, thank you!" and with that, he ended the call.
you sighed in annoyance knowing your brother only called just to let you know that his stack of chips were gone. "sorry, that was just takeru whining again. what were you saying?"
atsumu blinked, regaining his thoughts back. "i-it was nothin'." you weren't too convinced with it, but you just decided to let it slide knowing he wouldn't tell you anything else.
"well, we better get home now."
"right."
atsumu felt thankful he didn't end up saying that he was actually thinking about you. what could you have done? it wasn't normal for someone to be thinking about another person constantly. it was all new to him, maybe if he were to ask someone else for advice?
"guess i'll have to ask 'samu then..."
as atsumu stood up in hopes of walking you home, you turned to him with a smug smile. "remember when you said you'd make up for what you did?"
he nods, "y-yeah..."
"i'll come over to the gym after school tomorrow. be ready atsumu." you gave him a smile making the boy in front of you more anxious than he already was.

Phantom Storm
"Have you heard, the entire Bonanno crew was brutally murdered!" Exclaimed a youth in his early teens. "What? you're lying, again!" Another similarly aged child responded with crisp denial in his tone. After all, the crew was infamous for their ruthlessness. An eery silence passed between them. Soon enough, the teens' curiosity trumped his ego, and he found himself inquiring in a meek voice. "So...Who did it?" "I heard my father talking about it while he was drunk. Guess what he said?..." The child responded, he was a natural-born storyteller. Listening intently, the other teen urged him on. "It was done by a single person. When the police arrived, the bodies were charred black, likely the work of an electro mage. Most had an arrow or two lodged in their body, and a few were even chopped into neat little slices by a sharp blade." He paused, inhaling sharply. "All the victims had shocked expressions on their faces. As if the enemy was invisible or something. That's why they call that person the Phantom Storm!" concluded the adolescent with an excited glint in his eyes. 2 CHAPTERS PER WEEK (Canada time) [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] -------------------------------------------- Follow Itsuki as he is reincarnated in an unfamiliar world, left to discover where he belongs in such a place. Witness his exploits. Watch him build his kingdom, receive a rare class, and overcome trial upon trial. This story is about a man trying to redeem his past errors, constantly striving for better, overcoming immense pain and loss. Our character will improve, learn, become better than yesterday, and strive for more power. All the while working his way up the food chain in this brutal and unforgiving new world. *Disclaimer:* - The protagonist starts weak and a little naive, but I guarantee he will become quite capable over time. There will be no sudden power gains. The protagonist will have to work hard for what he gets. - This story is not about a loner, he'll have a few companions, and they will not be useless. - Some romance will be explored but not take away from the story. The main character will not be dense. Absolutely no harem will happen, but there might be a few love interests, no more than 3. - I will try my best to not follow cliches and stay as original as possible. - This story is my first ever, whether online or in real life. Thus, I might have grammatical errors here and there. The story might have a few plot holes and other such minute mistakes, as well. But I guarantee to try my best. Please give me feedback so that I can deliver a better story and learn to write better.

As long as i can remember, i can see something other people can't see Yes, on the top right of my vision, i have something that looks like a map, does it useful? how does something that blocks 1/32 of my vision to be useful?
