《deal [M. ATSUMU]》10 ♪ Distracted

lunch time rolled around, but this time you didn't have to buy from the cafeteria. you had time to pack your bento this morning, so you had that to eat for lunch.
"hey [Y/N], are you gonna eat with atsumu again?" yuki ask.
"i can eat with you instead yuki-chii, unless you have another meeting to attend to?" you frown when you notice she was picking her bag up.
"yeah... i'm really sorry!" she clasped her hands together and shuts her eyes. "i promise i'll have lunch with you tomorrow! today's the last meeting so i should be good!"
"it's fine yuki, you can go ahead." you gave her a soft smile.
"thank you! i'll see you later [Y/N]!" she waves and walks out the door but then stopped and added, "goodluck with yet another lunch date with atsumu." she sticks her tongue out and walks away.
you were going to reply to her, denying that it wasn't a date, but it was too late since she went out of the room already. you huffed, forgetting what she said and took the bento out of your bag.
"oi." you felt a presence beside you.
"what?" you didn't have to look up to know who it was.
"let's go. yer eatin' with me." atsumu says, but you didn't look up and continued to unwrap your bento.
"i'm too lazy to go." you told him, setting your chopsticks down with your bento on the table.
atsumu frowns at your stubbornness. "come on–"
"no."
"we can–"
"not going."
atsumu sighs. "fine." he knew you wouldn't change your mind so he had no choice but to do what you say. suddenly, he didn't know why he was under your command. didn't you agree to do what he says? in the end, he shurgged it off and pulled a seat next to you.
"what are you doing?" you finally looked at the boy who was now sitting in front of you.
"sitting with you since you won't come with me."
you gave him a blank stare before shrugging, then picked your chopsticks up. you opened your bento but you realized he didn't have any lunch with him. "aren't you going to eat?"
"...forgot my lunch..." he whispers, looking away from you.

"what?" you ask, barely hearing what he said.
"...i forgot my lunch. osamu didn't get it for me." he repeats louder this time. you chuckled at his stupidity which is why he glared at you.
"were you in such a hurry this morning that you actually forgot your lunch?" you laugh.
"well i didn't know what time yer leavin' the house, i didn't wanna look like an idiot and go to yer house when you already left!" he reasons, widening his eyes when he realized what he just said. "forget it..." he slumped in his seat and tore his gaze off you again.
you weren't expecting that was the reason for forgetting his lunch, so you felt bad laughing at the boy afterwards. you let out a smile and grabbed your chopsticks to which you used to pick up the food in your bento.
"say ah..."
atsumu whipped his head around, not believing what you were doing. you held the chopstick filled with food in front of him, waiting for him to eat it. "hey, hurry up. i gotta eat too y'know?"
he blinked before registering what was happening. so he did, he opens his mouth and eats the food you had prepared, the savory taste instantly spreading in his tongue. his eyes widen at the taste, not expecting it to be so good.
"so, what did it taste like?" you asked for a feedback.
he gulped the food down before replying. "...you didn't poison it right?"
you gave him a blank stare. "fine, starve then."
"i'm jokin'!" he quickly takes it back. "it was... good." he couldn't bring himself to praise you more knowing you'd just tease him for it.
you gave him a small smile once again and ate some of the food yourself. you gave the food a taste, bringing your tongue to be familiar with the flavors. "...i guess it's alright. could be better."
atsumu could only think, she could make something more delicious than that?!
"hey look, [Y/N] is feeding atsumu!"
"how lucky..."
"i still can't believe atsumu's dating someone..."
your classmates whispered in the room, their stares all centered upon the two of you. atsumu suddenly had a thought when he saw you bringing your chopsticks to your mouth.

"that's indirect kissing [Y/N], how sweet of you." he teased.
"do you want to eat or not?" you taunted.
while the both of you were eating, you didn't notice the redhead peeking from the door. her grip around the door's frame tightened when she saw how atsumu was laughing, and you feeding him so casually.
"so that's how you wanna play it, [L/N] [Y/N]." she hissed and walks away.
"...is he okay?"
"i don't think so?"
aran and akagi waved their hands in front of a spaced out atsumu who was staring into nothing. they were on a five minute break for practice when they noticed atsumu who was lost in his own thoughts.
"earth to atsumu?" akagi called out to the taller boy. when atsumu didn't budge, osamu took it upon himself to smack his twin's shoulder.
"ow! what was that for 'samu?!" atsumu finally snapped from his train of thoughts, glaring at his twin.
"aaand he's back." aran muttered, thankful that his friend snapped out of it.
ever since lunch time, atsumu would space out, his mind filled with the thoughts of you. how you smiled at him earlier, how you blushed at his teasing, how kind of a person you actually were, he couldn't stop thinking about it. he was in pure confusion, why would he think about you that much? was your impact suddenly that big on him? did you put some kind of curse on him? he didn't know if he liked it, it was a new feeling for him.
it was a new thing for him to continuously think about a certain girl.
"what's goin' on with you? yer tosses are sloppy." osamu commented as he chugged on his water bottle.
"whaddya mean sloppy? my tosses are always great! ya just suck since you can't hit any of 'em." atsumu snarled at his twin, an irk mark appearing in his forehead.
"i agree with osamu. what's up with you atsumu? your serves were messy too." kita joined in. everyone in the team had to agree, they noticed atsumu's style of playing was different today. it almost seemed like he was distracted by something, or someone.
"tch." atsumu looks away from them. he knew the reason why, but he would never admit it. he would never admit that he was continuously thinking about [L/N] [Y/N].
"i hope you'll keep it together atsumu." kita scolds him, turning back to the rest of the group. "alright, breaks over!"
meanwhile, you were in the photography club to bring the sd card to your club president, honoka. you were going to submit the photos you took of the volleyball team to her and ask for some feedback from your upperclassman.
"so, how is it senpai?" you asked, waiting for some form of approval.
"these are beautiful [Y/N]! you really do have a talent in photography!" she praised while scrolling through her laptop.
"thank you!" you smile at her.
"every shot and every angle is amazing! you captured their every movement nicely!" she clicks on a specific photo which happened to be atsumu who was serving. "you got lucky huh." she turns over to you with a grin.
"o-oh..." you stutter when you realize what she was indicating.
"you've got plenty of photos of atsumu-san, as expected of his girlfriend." she chuckles, clicking on other photos as well.
"...you know about it?"
"everyone knows about it [Y/N]-chan." she picks your sd card back and gave it to you once she was done copying it to her computer. "but don't worry, i'm not a fangirl or anything. i personally think you guys look cute together."
you let out a half-hearted laugh, not wanting to be rude. "t-thanks..."
"here you go! thanks for covering them [Y/N]-chan. i'll let you know if we have another photoshoot!" she gave you a warm smile and hands over your sd card.
"no problem senpai!" you took the card from her and bowed before walking out of the room.
is there anybody in this school that doesn't know about me and atsumu? you thought while walking down the hallways. when honoka commented that you looked good as a pair, your heart pounded. you scoff, convincing yourself that it was the last thing you'd want in your life. to be atsumu miya's real girlfriend? there was no way that'd really happen.
you were walking down the stairs when you heard the squeaking of shoes above you. you didn't mind it, thinking it was just some other student walking around.
that was until you were soaked with cold water from above you.

2nd Chance
It's my first time writing a story so you might spot a lot of amateur mistakes but feel free to criticize my writing as much as you like. Anyways, to give you a quick idea of what the story is all about, the original title of this novel was supposed to be "The Yankee in Another World" but when I thought about writing that in the cover I immediately thought 'HELL NAW' and went with a different one and I feel like the new title captures the essence of this story more. because although it's categorized as an Isekai, the story is more focused on redemption rather than the Isekai fantasy. Hopefully, I'll be able to update this synopsis once I thought of one.

Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.

The Little Things...
Set in the fictional universe of Runeterra (League of Legends™), the story follows four stout spirits known amidst circles of sorcerers and sages as Yordles on their journey across the vast and fantastical world they inhabit. The party at first seeks monetary gain in the acquisition of noteworthy artifacts desired by their employer and fellow explorer, but soon finds that there is more to be gained in the relationship forged along the way and the experiences found within them. This series is more a conglomerate of short stories than a fully fledged novel with every two or three chapters being confined to its own miniaturized arc before another one starts.
