"be my girlfriend."
you didn't know how three words would want you to be swallowed up by the ground. this was the last thing you'd expect from the very same guy whose match you've ruined because of your stupid ringtone you set up as a joke.
"what?" you thought you've gone deaf for a moment, not believing his words. was he bipolar or something? you were sure he wanted to kill you just five minutes ago, but now he wanted you to be his girlfriend?
"don't get ahead of yerself, i only want'cha to be my fake girlfriend. nothin' more." he looked away, focusing his gaze on somewhere else apart from you. it was already dark out, the moonlight was the only thing that illuminated you allowing you to see, but you could swear you saw a light tint of pink spreading across his cheeks.
"and for what, exactly?" you crossed your arms, waiting for a proper answer from the blonde.
he lets out a heavy sigh. atsumu rested his hands on his hips, preparing to explain the whole thing to you. "those girls never stop pesterin' me. figured if i got myself a girlfriend it'd get rid of 'em." he shrugged, pointing at the gym where his fangirls once stood.
"rude." you muttered. he glared, hearing your insult. "i-i mean yeah! perfect plan!" you gave him a thumbs up together with a fake smile. you now believed what your friend had said about his attitude, he indeed had one and you sure weren't liking it.
"so?" he asked, waiting for your reply.
"so... you're asking me to fake date you?" he nods. "and if i don't?"
"have you forgotten what'cha did back there?" one of his brows rose up, his scowl deepening. "yer shitty ringtone made me lose the match, the last remaning point!" you had almost forgotten the lack of space between you two as his neck was mere centimeters away from your face from the height different the both of you had.
"ya don't wanna know what happened to the last guy who disrupted my performance." he smirked, which only made you gulp in fear remembering to never go on atsumu's bad side ever again.

"okay, okay i get it!" you pushed him away from you, overwhelmed by the distance you and he had. "i'll agree with this stupid plan..." your voice lowered.
"as you should." he huffed, finally stepping away from you. "what's yer name?"
"are you serious? you asked me to be your girlfriend and you don't even know my name?" you stared at him in disbelief. he just shrugged. you shook your head, "unbelievable."
"what, you famous or somethin'? i sure as hell have never seen you before."
"i had hoped it stayed that way forever." you mumbled. "it's [L/N] [Y/N]."
"[L/N], you new?" he tilted his head. atsumu had never seen the [H/C] haired girl before, and he was sure she wasn't a fangirl. if she was, she would've already fainted or screamed at the very fact of him just talking to her. but she didn't, she was normal. or so he hoped.
"...yeah. kinda? i just transferred this year." you answered. this was the very reason why you didn't know who atsumu was to begin with. sure you had heard that famous people were attending your school, but you didn't exactly know who. yuki, the only friend you've made since you started studying here, was the only one who's keeping you up to date and telling you facts about inarizaki high. she mentioned several times that her twin brother was a volleyball player, but you've never actually met him.
"wait, why me?" you asked before he could continue further with this whole plan of his. "you could've just chosen any other girl before me. y'know, like your fans? they'd happily agree i'm sure."
"ya lack brain cells or somethin'?" he scoffed. "they're the very same girls i wanted to avoid, that's why i got you as a fake girlfriend to begin with. y'know what'll happen if i end up choosin' one of 'em as my girlfriend right?" he hoped she'd finish his sentence, but she continued to stare and still couldn't get his point.
"they'd want a real relationship with me. not just a fake one. and i wouldn't like that." he rolled his eyes.

"what if i told you i'm your fangirl? you wouldn't date me now, right?" you smirked, a plan forming in your brain.
"i know you ain't one. why d'ya think i asked you to fake date me to begin with?" you frowned. just when you thought you had come up with an escape plan. "you aren't getting outta this that easy, [L/N]." he brought his finger to your chin, lifting it up so you could directly stare at his brown orbs.
"you'll be my new toy." his sly smirk was all you could think about. he lets go of your chin and started to walk away from you. "see ya tomorrow princess." he waved goodbye.
you were left there dumbfounded. did you really just form a deal with the very same person you had wanted to avoid? yes, you did. you knew you didn't have any other choice. for all you know he could've made your second year in high school miserable with one snap of his finger.
"were you just talking to atsumu miya?" yuki suddenly emerged from the corner, her face painted with confusion.
"...perhaps?" you smiled awkwardly.
"did he file your death sentence already?" your friend snickered, not helping your case at all.
"no... but i think this is worse than a death sentence." you froze to your spot as if you just processed everything what happened just now. "yuki-chii, i fucked up..."
your walk with yuki consisted of her laughing at you for your stupidity and feeling sorry for you at the same time. suna rintaro, her twin, had gone home without her which made her wait for him meaningless. nevertheless, she apologized to you and accompanied you home.
along the way, you told her about your deal with atsumu. of course at first she thought you were joking but when you stared blankly at her not laughing with her like you usually do, she cursed under her breath and agreed that you were indeed in deep shit.
"...it could've been worse?" yuki reasoned, trying to lighten the mood.
"what's worse than dating atsumu miya?" you sighed. "i'm not liking the guy already..."
"cheer up, i'll help you through it don't worry." she pats your back. yuki suna and rintaro suna were fraternal twins so they looked nothing alike except for their jet black hair. not many people even knew they were siblings even with the share of last names.
yuki reached her home before you, bidding farewell when you had to separate streets from her. your first month at inarizaki high hasn't been great at all, who knew you'd have to fake date the famouse setter? if you did, you would've stayed in miyagi where you could continue being carefree at aoba johsai.
"i'm home!" you called out, entering the door to your house and removing your shoes at the mud room.
"nee-chan i called you earlier! why didn't you pick up?" your brother whined. he was just eight years old and had just started third grade. "i wanted some ice cream!"
"yeah well thanks to you i got in trouble." you lightly smacked his buzz cut head. "takeru, how many times do i have to tell you not to call me when i'm at school?!" you scolded the smaller boy, setting down your bag at the sofa.
"you big fat meanie!" he whined more, running away from you while rubbing his head where you smacked it.
"hey, who are you calling big and fat?!" you chased him around the house after he'd stuck his tongue out at you. you lived in your house with your little brother while your mother was abroad. she had her own business which made her travel a lot and would only be home for a week max every month. hence why you had to take care of your brother by yourself everyday.
"bleh!" he continued to run around the house, never giving you any time to catch your breath. you sighed, wondering when you'd ever catch a break.
takeru will be a little bit ooc as time goes on on this story for watch out for that!

8 146The Mob in His Novel
Through his hard work, Arthur Bennett has achieved what he thought was the pinnacle of life: wealth, prestige, and power. However, achieving those came with a price; he lost everything and everyone he loved. One day, out of boredom, he mindlessly wrote a fantasy novel filled with numerous clichés and superfluous conflicts. However, he never imagined he would be reincarnated into that world after his death. No, not as the protagonist, not even as an important supporting character, but instead, he became a mob in his novel. Will Arthur use his abilities and knowledge as the author to make the right decisions and make it through the end, despite the fact that there was a greater, more powerful threat that he was unaware of even as the author? ==========-I will also be posting it on Webnovel, Scribblehub, and Tapas (TBA) under the same name
