《Unnatural Disaster || JJK ✔️》(57) Finale Chapter 1: The Final Battle [Edited]

A/N - The finale chapters are gonna be pretty lengthy so grab some minutes and dive in~~
Deep pain blunged with ample amounts of remorse, that's what they felt, all five of them as they dwelled under the ghastly shadows of an agony that knew no limit, a moment that refused to depart and a fate that remained unjust.
The morning didn't come with rays of new hopes, instead it brought in lingering remnants of past fears and the boys, who just a few hours ago had been brimming with the excitement of their nearing reset, now felt lifeless and dull inside.
What was the point of this new life that didn't even have the presence of the very individual who made it possible? What good could this new beginning bring if their little sister wasn't there to begin it with them?
Layers of uncertainty piled up in the distressed heads answers to which didn't seem to exist.
With trembling fingers Yoongi buttoned up his shirt in front of the mirror. The full length mirror stretched all the way from the floor to half way through the wall reflecting the entirety of his figure and yet, his eyes remained static on his shirt only. He refrained from gazing up and sparing a glance at his own pale, tear stricken face for he was afraid, what if the agony dripping from his eyes adds to the soreness that was already clenching his heart? He didn't know if he could bear it any more. He was losing hope like a dead tree loses its leaves and honestly, he didn't know how much longer he could keep standing.
Everybody always leaves me, mom dad appa amma and now you too....am I that unlucky?
In the room adjacent remained the other brother. Curled up in a ball he laid on his bed, not having any care about his freshly ironed dress shirt getting all crumpled up against the bedsheets. How could he when his heart too was being crumpled against all the desolation and numbness? The baby sister that he loved to carry around in his arms so much as a kid was never going to return to him ever again, she was never going to call him Jin Oppa ever again. How was he supposed to make his heart believe that, or rather, accept that? Wet patches formed here and there on the fabric everywhere his damp cheeks touched and his eyes remained swollen, cold gaze being stuck on the only photo hanging from the wall, a snap of three radiant smiles, a fifteen year old Min Yoongi, a sixteen year old Kim Seokjin, and a tiny, little, seven year old Kim Y/N.
I thought wishes that once come true are meant to stay. Then why did the wish I made while blowing off the candles on my eighth birthday just drift away so suddenly? I was so happy the day ajhumma brought you in from the hospital. And now that you are gone, I'm equally devastated. Will the pain ever leave?
The desolation didn't stay lodged in just the ground floor though. The two broken souls in Y/N's room upstairs were experiencing just as much anxiety. Unlike the elder boys aforementioned, these two shared a very close friendship with her and now seeing the trio fall apart was shattering their hearts into pieces. Both Jimin and Taehyung sat on Y/N's bed, looking around her room and reminiscing through all the memories they made in this very room. The time Y/N brought Taehyung here for the first time, the night they all sang their favorite K-Pop songs while Jimin played the guitar, the day Jimin and Taehyung had a huge fight and Y/N brought Jin in to give the maknaes a good scolding, everything came crashing back and the two best friends cried hysterically in each other's arms. It pained them so much to think that the memories were all they were left with now.

I miss you so much.....Why did you leave so soon? Why now when everything was turning just right?
You saved me from death and you gave me such a beautiful life, I'm so sorry I couldn't do the same for you, forgive me...
Away from all these tears remained the fifth boy. On the green grass covering the garden was where he laid, arms and legs stretched long and wide, but heart clenched into a tiny dot. Unlike the others, he didn't cry, instead he looked up with his emotionless eyes, staring blankly at the drifting clouds.
"It gives me peace to just look at the clouds and watch them dance about in the blue sky, having absolutely no worries of tomorrow" was what Y/N had said when Hoseok asked her what she was doing laying alone on the grass. Her answer had amused the boy back then but now, when he was trying to do the same, peace was the least he felt. Instead, he felt envious, envious of the mere clouds who could just pour themselves out on the earth every time they felt overwhelmed. How ironic that the surging sunshine of the group was wanting to cascade down like the rain and seep into the soil, forgetting every pain he ever felt. Oh, what did the cruel fate reduce them into?
I wonder how my life would have turned out if I had never met you. Honestly, I was very pissed at you the day you made me return the purse I stole. But now everything's changed. I wish I would have said this sooner but thank you for coming into my life and changing it for the best. I'll forever be grateful.
Loud honks echoed through the streets breaking the heavy silence and the five men stood up from their previous positions. With no words spoken they rubbed their eyes dry and made their ways to the police van that now stood at the gates of their mansion. Sure they were too devastated to attend the trial and not a single one of them cared about what was to happen in the court. In fact, they had strictly refused to do anything with these legal stuffs after the shocking news was bestowed upon them last night. But when a crying Jungkook made them understand that this was what their sister wanted, that this was apparently Y/N's last wish, with no further debate everybody agreed to be there. The girl wanted nothing more than a normal and happy life for herself and her family. Now that she was no more, this remained the only way to bring her soul the peace she oh so deserved.
So without any further ado, the group hopped into the van and left for the Seoul Court in Gangnam, where the trial was to be held.
On reaching the destination, the group was met with some familiar faces that lead them to their assigned seats in the audience. The mere room stretched over a vast expense and they traced every inch of it with curious eyes as it was their first time being in a courtroom, and hopefully the last as well.
Rows of teak chairs lined up the space, all facing the stage built against the innermost wall of the room where the seating arrangements for the judge was made. And then there was the jury panel on the far right. All in all the ambience screamed solemnity and thereby it made the five guests very uncomfortable. An anguished aura fell upon them and they fiddled with their fingers and tows while sitting straight on their seats. Some even chewed on their nails under the influence of wild nerves.

A few minutes went by before the space started filling up with several other faces. Namjoon came in and took a seat with some other officers at the foremost row and soon after his arrival, a stone faced Jungkook, clad in his prominent uniform, walked down the aisle before taking a seat on the advocate's chair. Clearly he was speaking for his team and the entire marshal department.
Within a few more, an elderly Judge set foot into the scene and the final battle began.
"Please rise. The Court of the Second Judicial Circuit, Criminal Division, is now in session, the Honorable Judge presiding" announced the Bailiff and the entire court stood up to welcome the magistrate who straight away walked up to his throne and took a seat. The rest sat down only after he gestured them to.
"Everyone but the jury may be seated..." the session began with the usual norms and oaths being revised and once it was all done with, the Judge leaped straight to the point, initiating the litigation right away.
"So this hearing will be regarding the Kim Mafia and some unfortunate incident that recently occurred that is related to the mafia, am I right?" he asked out loud making a now standing Jungkook collect a bunch of papers from his desk and approach the judge's table.
"Yes your honor" he replied standing tall in front of the Lord and the latter nodded before indulging further in.
"Can you enlighten the court about what actually happened in and around the mishap and why is it important?"
"Yes your honor..." Jungkook once again declared, the gravity in his voice echoed through the massive hall and everybody else remained silent waiting for the lieutenant to carry on and so he did. "Please allow me to start from the very beginning"
"Go ahead"
"Thank you.........our prime concern for today's hearing are the Kims who most of us identify as one of the leading Kkangpaes, aka, mafias in South Korea. They have been terrorizing our people for almost thirty years now and are known to have illegal networks all over Asia that they use to exploit the country's riches. The Police force have been trying to capture them for years but this particular group of Kkangpaes were just too good to be caught. The team was lead by an individual named Kim Myung Dae who also happens to be the co-founder of the syndicate. He shared his organization with another who's none other than Mr. Sang Ook, the one currently sitting on the convict's chair..."
Jungkook's eyes drifted to the aforementioned for a quick second and seeing his action, the rest eyes followed. He spared the old man an abhorrent glare before turning back to the awaiting magistrate while slapping back on a nonchalant face.
"Why is he there?" the judge asked making sparks of intentions flash through Jungkook's eyes.
"Apparently the Kkangpaes appointing Myung Dae as their leader didn't sit well with Mr. Sang Ook. Obviously he was disappointed but he hoped to seize the throne after Myung Dae but that too didn't happen because in an unexpected turn of events, Myung Dae signed the organization to his barely nineteen year old daughter Miss Kim Y/N.
This move made by him agitated his friend very much and Sang Ook reverted to conspiring against the entire Kim Family and eventually managed to kill the former leader. Here's the death certificate of Mr. Kim Myung Dae and the contract papers of Miss Y/N inheriting the mafia. I hereby also submit an old picture of Mr. Sang Ook and Mr. Myung Dae together to prove their amity that dates long back..."
Jungkook walked up to the stage and handed the documents to the judge's assistant who sat right next to the main man, just a level lower. Both the individuals scrutinized the papers minutely and then passed them to the jury before gesturing Jungkook to continue. And nodding to the demand, the latter revived his elucidation.
"Shortly after Myung Dae's death, his wife too passed away from a severe cardiac arrest, thereby leaving a young Y/N to survive on her own. And the first thing she did with her power was to dissolve the entire work force of the Kim Organization because she knew her parent's death was crafted by some perpetrators among their own team, only didn't know who exactly-"
"I see, but what proof do you have of Sang Ook being involved in all these?"
"Your honor, if you may see the certificate carefully, the cause of death is mentioned as nervous system malfunction and a permanent paralysis of motor neurons. Now this is a very vivid symptom of hemlock poisoning-"
"I didn't do anything" a sudden shriek from the convict's chair rendered Jungkook mute but that was until the magistrate chided Sang Ook with his loud baritone voice. The poor convict didn't even get the chance to hire a defense attorney of his own as the few people that considered his existence to be significant and would do that for him were already dead. Who else would bother to help his guilty little ass?
"Keep quite, this is a court room" the Judge's words concocted with his angry glare left the man cowering in his chair making Jungkook let out a small smirk before he morphed into his professional self again.
"Its true what you said about the hemlock poisoning but I hope the general knowledge is not the only thing you are basing this on" it was amusing how the old man turned from an angry lion to a composed and wise owl so fast, maybe it was his years and years of experience.
However Jungkook didn't indulge in the moment for long for now he head already moved on to proving his point.
"I'm not your honor, I have proofs to back up my every claim" once again he approached the Judges desk and handed over another sheet but this time, there was also a pen drive.
"This is Myung Dae's autopsy report which clearly states that indeed dusts of Hemlock seeds were found in his stomach. And the pen drive contains a CCTV footage of Sang Ook bribing Myung Dae's doctor with monetary offerings so that he would spike his meds with poison"
It took the assistant a few minutes to connect the drive with his laptop but once it was done, the footage revealed itself on the projector screen and immediately murmurs and gasps filled up the room, the biggest of them being of none but Sang Ook's. The fear in his eyes cranked up to several folds and his lips trembled with agonizing anticipation.
"Hmm, clearly Mr. Sang Ook deserves to be on that chair. I wonder what other sick deeds he have done"
"There's a lot your honor and I'm here to reveal them all to you"
"Sure thing, carry on" the Judge lifted his hand up in insistence and Jungkook obliged, thereby continuing with his story.
"Even after killing Myung Dae ruthlessly, Sang Ook was not satisfied. He still wanted the mafia but it was now in the hands of Kim Y/N. So he orchestrated an intricate plan to take it away from her. He targeted a small business organization called the Buzzards, killed its owner Gwan Daigo and hijacked all their money. In fact, the son he claims to have and love was never his to begin with. Mr. Sang Ook never even got married in the first place. The sly man brainwashed Gwan Daigo's younger brother Gwan Min Jun until the latter started considering the outsider his own father-"
There were a certain five pairs of eyes in the room that widened to their max limits. Min Jun wasn't Sang Ook's son? What the hell!
"Do you have evidences to justify such assumptions Lieutenant Jeon? One sure needs deep motives to spawn such bizarre actions"
"I sure do your honor, here's a picture of Daigo and Min Jun in their younger years and here's Min Jun's high school graduation certificate where the local guardian's name is mentioned as Gwan Daigo and not Sang Ook. I collected all these documents from the warehouse where Sang Ook had been hiding himself and his troops-"
The conviction in Jungkook's voice was too firm to forsake and yet his claims sounded too queer to accept.
"But why exactly did Mr. Sang Ook go through all these trouble?"
"To get the money your honor" he spat out right away as if the answer was rolling on his tongue, waiting to be let out. "I don't have proofs regarding his exact reasons but from what I've researched so far, I have come to a certain speculation that Daigo was too smart for Sang Ook to outwit so he targeted his naïve younger brother. Sang Ook knew that after Daigo, Min Jun would be the rightful owner of the Buzzards so he gave him drugs to suppress his memories only for him to overwrite them with new ones in which the stranger Sang Ook became his dear old father while his own brother became the enemy who he thought was trying to rob them. In fact, the sadistic Sang Ook was so crippled hearted that he made Min Jun shoot his own brother to death. Here's a bill of the drugs he purchased. I've managed to extract it from the pharmacy's inventory..."
Some mouths remained open and some eyes wide as the shocking revelations dawned upon the people like an unforeseen catastrophe, an unnatural disaster.
