《Unnatural Disaster || JJK ✔️》Chapter 43: Dilemma [Edited]

A stifling gloom lingered in the air accompanied by a puff of despair blowing past every now and then. Pain, like a mischievous wind, tagged 'em and sprinted away only to return with heightened vigor. The sun shining with all its might peered its golden rays through the thick murk of anguish, yet the abode remained as dark as ever.
Fazed sentiments clawed at the hearts of the poor souls like a famished beast and they shed drops of misery at how fate turned out for them. No matter what they do, betrayal and deceit kept coming for them time and again, and no matter how fast they ran, the dark silhouette of haplessness never seemed to leave them alone. It was as if the friends were destined to suffer.
However, one particular among the crowd was going through all these for the first time and lets just say, the massive muscular strength he managed to acquire over the years was failing to prove significance at this exact moment, when he needed it the most, it was failing to protect his indigent heart.
The parching draught growing inside his throat contrasted against his moist eyes as they blankly stared at nothing in particular. Feigned nonchalance sheathed his pale face, the only gateway for any emotion now being those two sparkling orbs, the ones that currently held utter desolation. Though an uncanny composure lurked in his stature, it was contradicting what he truly felt inside.
Inside his head transpired a hefty brawl between his conscience and his coherence.
Did someone take Y/N......or.......did she have this entire thing planned herself?
Did she fake her love for me......or.......she meant it all to her pure heart?
Is she celebrating her freedom right now.......or.......is she sitting somewhere in a dark, dingy cell, waiting for me to save her?
Where is she!??
The fight between his head and his heart echoed in his ears and he lowered his head to clutch it tightly against his slender fingers, putting pressure on the aching bone. It had been just for a few minutes that he left Y/N alone in the car. Was it even possible that in such scarce time someone came and took her away?

Where Jungkook was standing was a difficult crossroad and he couldn't choose where to head. He didn't know which way would bestow him with the most pain, both seemed equally harrowing! Whether Y/N deliberately chose to leave him or she was taken forcefully, he was losing her anyways. Then how could he choose?
The real question was, did he want Y/N to be stuck somewhere, so that he can barge in and save the love of his life like a knight in shining armor.....
Or did he want her to be safe and happy, where ever she chose to leave to?
His heart definitely wanted to find her and bring her back but the love he had for Y/N was true and he couldn't just go with his own desires and not care about what she wants.
If the latter is true, would Jungkook let her go? Might he?
As long as she is happy, I'll do anything...
Snapping at his own dilemma Jungkook jumped up from his seat with new found determination sparkling through his eyes. After the agonizing debate within himself, he now knew what exactly he had to do. So he took firm steps towards the exit when a voice stopped him.
"Where are you going Jungkook?" asked Jimin with concern laced in his tone. He had been parked on the couch with the younger male all along.
"To investigate hyung. I need to find out if it was her own decision to abandon us..."
"If so, then what would you do?"
"I'd let her go hyung, I will let her go....but if I find a single clue of someone else' involvement in this, I swear I'll hunt that bastard down and shred him to pieces for even laying eyes on her. If she's really taken, I promise hyung, I'll get her back."
With that being said Jungkook hurried down the couple of stairs outside the entrance and ran to his car, the very car that had been a part of this entire ordeal.
Pulling open the door on the passenger side, he scanned with keen eyes, searching for even a tiny bit of a hint.

The car, apart from the broken lock, remained as good as new. Previously Jungkook had been too devastated to search every nook and cranny of the crime scene but now was the time. So he bent down on his knees and scavenged under the seats for any possible sign but to no avail. However, just as he was about to stand back up, a shiny silver something caught his eyes.
As an immediate reflex Jungkook grabbed the tiny contraption only to see a small pin resting between his fingers. And his mind started the follow-up calculations.
A pin this tiny can only be used to acupuncture someone to death.......
or to force open a small lock, like the one on handcuffs.
A deep sigh fled his mouth as all that happened so far was implying that Y/N was deliberately missing. The pin could only mean that she broke her own lock. After all, the pin was found under her seat for God's sake.
Heaving a defeated breath Jungkook grabbed the seat to push him back up. However, just as his fingers graced the uncannily coarse leather, his eyes widened to its last extent. Once again, he bent down to investigate more. And just as he speculated, there were nail marks against the seat leather, as if someone had struggled to stay put.
The whole scenario just grew ten folds more confusing and Jungkook huddled his eyebrows together in utter analysis.
What the hell actually happened that day!?
As if universe was answering to his question, his eyes now landed on the seat itself, where Y/N had been seated. At the far side of it was a small patch of discoloration, one that a few drops of acid could make.
Immediately Jungkook fished out his handkerchief from his pocket and rubbed the fabric against the patch in order to collect some of the particles on it. Very cautiously then he brought the handkerchief to his nose, not too close, just close enough, and he took a small whiff.
A faint stench of Thiopental invaded his senses and just like that, every thing was now crystal clear. Thiopental is a drug that induces temporary comatose. And the presence of this esteemed chemical on Y/N's seat could only mean,
that Jungkook now had some serious asses to kick.
[Flashback]
A wide smile painted itself on Y/N's lips as she sat there waiting for Jungkook to return from his little mission. His confession played on repeat in her mind and the three key words rang in her ears like a recurring sweet harmony.
Thus when there could be heard a small patter on the side of her door, she turned around expectantly, hoping to see a bouncy Jungkook. But, the scene that graced her eyes instead was far more surreal.
A man whom she had never seen before in her entire life was trying to break the lock.
Jungkook had been gone for just a few minutes and she didn't know how long it will take for him to return. She couldn't just sit there and wait. So she searched here and there for a way out and that's when her eyes crashed on the mirror. She was wearing a shirt with a metal design on the chest. Immediately her mind hatched a plan and she tore out one tiny pin from her top and poked at her handcuffs for freedom.
Just as she'd hoped, the cuffs fell dismantled on the floor. However, in this whole action, she failed to notice that the man was already in. She didn't even get the chance to fight before a thick needle was pushed into her neck.
Though she put up a good struggle, knocking the cuffs off with her feet in the process, she still couldn't keep up for long and soon an eerie darkness consumed her whole...

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**
