《Unnatural Disaster || JJK ✔️》Chapter 16: Hate [Edited]

A rhythmic pulsation resounded through my chest and vibrated in my ear as I perceived the female figure standing by the doorway, leaning her slender self against the wooden frame. A dark blue oversized crop top hung loosely from her bony shoulders and a pair of white shorts sat clad on her tiny waist giving a full view of her long legs. Her black flowy hair was tied up in a messy bun, a few small strands wandering away with the wind while her hands were folded over her chest in desperate bully.
The obnoxious vixen was back.
An intense glare connected us both with an unfazed daze, zapped emotions spiraling through the chamber. Everything around started blurring out as I kept my gaze locked on the pair of dark brown eyes looking back at me with equal severity.
A tight line forming on Y/N's cheeks predicted the grit in her teeth inside and the burn in her orbs saged the ground with triggering anger.
"I- I think I......sh-should leave" the weight of the moment had us plunged so deep that we didn't even realize the presence of the third individual.
Stella left the room with small but hurried steps closing the door behind her and leaving the two of us alone with our sparkling conflict.
However that didn't waver our staring contest even a bit.
"You are too fearless Officer Jeon, and that makes you the stupidest person I've ever met" the words slithered out of Y/N's mouth pulling a growl out of me. The girl took daunting steps towards my standing form, eyes never leaving mine and as she was just inches away, she stopped.
"Why do you keep on forgetting that you are a prisoner of Seoul's leading mafia gang? Are you so desperate to die?"

I felt my face morphing into an appalling grimace as I stared down at the form slightly shorter than me, although her ego was way taller.
"Are you even brave enough to kill me? Because if you were, I think you would have done that by now" I remarked, dropping my hands inside my pockets. I rolled my eyes in utter mockery with the sole intention to piss her off.
Even if I had to land in the basement again, I still thought that the bitter agony on Y/N's face was worth a shot. Seeing her enraged and disgusted kind of filled me up with a sense of accomplishment. But unfortunately my ploy didn't quite work and Y/N stayed rather calm.
"Well......I am brave enough to kill you but the thing is, I am smart too. Don't you think it would be a dumb move to have a federal officer in our hands and yet letting him die? Just imagine how much we can exploit the law by using you, Lieutenant Jeon. You are a key to our triumph"
A repulsive scoff traced its way up my chest and I glared at the lady with utter aversion.
Just how much lower can these criminals go?
"A 23 year old boy from Busan with a dream to follow his father's footsteps would end up assisting a gang of felon in bringing down the whole police force of Seoul......who would've thought" the vixen hissed, tilting her head to the side as she stretched her lips in a venomous smirk.
She was nothing but a villain thirsty for other people's distress. She was a freaking dementor, feeding on others' fear.
However, her words conjured a subtle wave of emotions in me and it made me prioritize my sole motive for coming to Seoul

Defeating crime and leaving a mark as a successful and respected police officer...
And I wasn't gonna let it go that easy. She might have the upper hand here but what I had was my father's trust and a badge showing that I was capable. I wasn't gonna back down, not anymore.
If she wanted to keep me there, she could. I would use the opportunity to my advantage and complete my mission. I'd collect as many evidences as I can, from right under her nose and she won't even know. After all, I was going to join her own game, the game of deception.
" " I spat through my gritted teeth thereby making her sick grin stretch wider. She lifted her right hand up to my hair, tracing her fingers down my face and to the collar of my shirt, crunching the fabric in her fist. She tugged on the cloth harshly making my face jolt forward to a point where it was just a few centimeters away from hers. Her familiar lavender fragrance sheathed my senses with a confound inebriation and an apprehensive shiver slid down my spine as she brought her face even closer, brushing her lips slightly against my ear,
"I feel the same way Officer Jeon"
