《Unnatural Disaster || JJK ✔️》Chapter 14: Incheon [Edited]

"Who the fuck are you working for??" I heard Hoseok roar as I walked through the dark corridors of the precarious building. With flickering sconces lining up the worn out walls and wooden floor squeaking with pain every time I step on it, the place reeked of demolition, an aura of mortality stifling the air. My vision scrolled along the entire space and I remembered how terrified I was the last time I came here six years ago..... Well this time, I wasn't even bothered. How could I be, when my soul had become darker than the place itself.
Pushing the decapitated door open, I walked into the grubby basement where Yoongi and Hoseok had Min Jun locked up with his hands restrained by metal chains hanging down from the ceiling. With his clothes torn, face bloody and body badly bruised, he resembled a victim of pure vandalism. The treatment he received from the two boys was inevitable and the way his wounds shed crimson tears exposed his agony but, the weak grin still consistent on his lacerated lips apprised a story of its own. Even after being beaten to the bone, he refused to let go. The man preferred his pride over his life. However, being a mafia heiress, I knew exactly how to break him.
"You see Min Jun, I'm proud of you. Sure you betrayed me but at least you are staying loyal to the man you really worship..." I walked up to the mutilated figure with leisure steps as I schemed to deliberately hurt his most prized asset, his ego. Hoseok moved away to give me space and a smirk formed on his face clearly noticing my intentions.
"You are like......umm......yes, you are like his....pet dog. Attacking on his commands, barking on his commands. It's as if you don't have a mind of your own. You only do what your master asks you to. You don't have the guts to disobey him, do you?"

I batted my eyelashes, fake innocence dripping down them as I moved my face right below his while he stared down at me with emotions blazing through his dark orbs. The growing discomfort in his eyes solely asserted that I was getting through his thick skin.
"I wonder if you wiggle your tail on his commands as wel-" I was refrained from finishing my sentence as a thunderous growl escaped Min Jun's mouth, his broken voice resonating against the fatigued walls.
"Did I say something wrong?" I asked, shrouding my manipulative words with a voice oozing lethal sweetness. The flickering indignation in Min Jun's widened gaze marked my victory and I could hear a low snicker resounding from behind me.
"I am not a dog. I am just as capable as , maybe even more. He is not the bo-" Min Jun abruptly stopped, realizing what he just did while a triumphant snigger made its way up to my face. His eyes went wide in their sockets as his lips quivered in anticipation.
"Tsk....seems like you are not that loyal to Daigo either" I chuckled at his face making him look down in embarrassment. I then turned back to the boys who had their lips stretched in their own roguish smirks.
"Leave him guys. Lets not get our hands dirty with his nasty blood, I believe his Master will be happy to do the honors..."
Daigo, the name was never heard before. The criminal world held a lot of entrants anxious to wipe out The Kims from existence and a lot of them had already showered us with attacks in previous times but this name was completely new. And the fact that they were able to break into the mind of our recruits claimed their wicked ways to prominence. We Kims ruled the South Korean underworld, there was no doubt about it but how long does it take to dethrone a king when all you are using is weapons made of deceitful intellect?

The clanking of metal chains broke me out of my deep contemplation and I looked up to see Hoseok de-linking Min-jun from them. The men in charge of treating him and dropping him home had already arrived and as soon as Hoseok was done, they took him away. Being ruthless to my enemies was my duty but that didn't include killing each and every one of them. His betrayal actually led me to some very significant information that I could now exploit and it didn't really bother me to let him go. He was useless anyways.
"Lets leave now guys.....I think we all need some sleep" Hoseok chimed as he pushed back his disheveled bangs, shoving away the callous persona along with it. Being a felon was none of our dreams. We all were somehow forced into this and hence, letting go of the stifling mask at the end of the day was always a relief.
"Exactly..." Yoongi concurred as he patted me on the back, gesturing me to lead him to my car. He had come here with Hoseok but was going to return with me as our addresses have been the same for the last 15 years. So leaving the warehouse under a tighter security, we departed for our homes.
The car ride was eerily silent as we both were too tired to even put up a conversation. I had my head leaned against the seat and with my eyes closed shut, I was drifting off to the gratifying thought of being on my soft bed after a long hectic day when I heard Y/N start at something.
"Yoongi?" I hummed in response, still being in the daze.
"Did you ever have any conflicting thoughts where you felt like you hate someone but then......you felt like..... you don't ?" my eyes shot open as my brain comprehended the depth of the unforeseen question.
"What are saying Y/N? Did you start having feelings for that cop?"
The car came to a screeching halt as Y/N abruptly pulled the breaks only to stare at me with widened eyes. Bewilderment tenanting her gaze while her mouth gaped open in dismay. However my own expression wasn't quite stable either, I could feel it.
"What the hell Yoongi!" Y/N scoffed turning her face back to the wheel trying hard to conceal the slight blush creeping up her cheeks. I can't remember seeing Y/N this much flustered before but I wasn't complaining.
"Look Y/n, I can understand what you are feeling right now. Jungkook is a young man and a good looking one too, not more than me though. Its quite natural to be attracted to him, more now that you're practically living under the same roof and can cross path every now and then. Its just a boy girl thing. I mean I have such feelings every time I see Scarlett Johansson flip her long hair. But that doesn't mean I love her or something. It's nothing but hormones"
"But-" she looked up, a frown of dissent sitting on her forehead and a gloom of uncertainty clouding her stature. Her eyes desperately searched for some support and I was there to give it to her. She hardly ever spoke about her feelings anymore and I was glad that the one time she decided to confide into someone, she chose me.
"You are a human being Y/N-aah and you are allowed to feel everything a normal 20 year old girl does. And these feelings are generally too fragile to last. But promise me one thing, if this turns out to be something stronger......you wont try and suppress it"
She looked at me, the fire in her eyes reigniting as she once again adorned her cold façade.
"Don't worry Yoongi, my hatred for Jungkook is too strong to let other emotions shine through..."

The Dawnfire Archives
It begins in the endless wastes, with an unknown man arriving at the bottom of the tallest mountain in existence. A mysterious voice provides few directions, bringing more questions than answers. Regardless, after choosing a name and weapon... the man begins to climb. He will not be alone on this journey. A young individual from a different reality has also made his way to The Climb. But what does their arrival bode for the people of this world? And where does climbing the mountain truly lead? This is my second novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the third being "The Card Thief of Culnivar". This story is much more GameLIT than Xianxia, and takes place in a different setting with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
