《Unnatural Disaster || JJK ✔️》Chapter 13: Spark [Edited]

Grabbing tight onto my side pillow, I scrambled around on the cozy mattress desperately searching for my disoriented slumber. All those punching and kicking in the warehouse earlier had made me exhausted to my every muscle and yet the peaceful darkness retracted from embracing me. It was already 5:30 in the morning but I hadn't received even a single second of sleep.
The trail of events from a few hours ago denied to leave my cognition and the adherent emotions it came with exploited my brain cells utterly. Jungkook's sharp gaze boring deep into mine was the view stuck in my head all along. His brown orbs sparkling with amber highlights held emotions that I didn't even know about and yet I found myself getting lost in them. And his warm minty breath on my cold skin created a sensation that I was unable to get rid of. My entire life I had been surrounded my males of all ages but how come I didn't feel this way ever before? The abrupt rise in body temperature, the relentless beating of the heart, the crushing waves of unfamiliar sentiments, where the heck did all these come from? I didn't know but there was one thing I was sure about. That I wasn't allowed to feel it, whatever it was.
Rolling down from the bed I collected the darkest hoodie from my closet and made my way out of my room. If sleep is breaking up with me, I'd rather move on. On the way out I grabbed one of the softest pillow from my collection and the master key of course.
Taking hushed steps I skipped down the stairs and in no time, I found myself standing outside the basement door. The entrance was locked as expected, so I fished the key out of my pocket and as quietly as possible unbolted the door there by entering the dark chamber.

The stifled air that surrounded me almost immediately, made me uncomfortable as the space wailed from the lack of cooling. A sheath of black dawned upon the harrowing space and it took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the minimum lighting but as it did, I was able to perceive the outline of a man laying motionless on the hard, rugged floor of the dismally empty room. Body tilted to the side and hands seeking shelter under his head, in search of the slightest comfort available.
I went to one of the fenced windows and pushed it open to let the breeze in before walking up to the figurine in the middle of the room. Bending down on my knees I tried to have a better view of the sleepy man's face. With his eyes closed shut, lips slightly parted and silky locks completely messed up, Jungkook had a serenity lingering upon his somnolent visage while his chest moved up and down in a slow harmonic rhythm. The small gap in between his lips gave an obscure view of his front teeth which to some extent resembled a rabbit. How come I didn't notice that before?
Drops of sweat sheathed his forehead giving up a glimpse of his discomfort and it somehow made me feel guilty. Maybe I was a little too harsh? Battling down my hesitation I lifted my hand up to his face, gliding my thumb past his forehead to wipe out the precipitation. Touching him in a way other than just expressing my resentment felt different but I didn't let the thought scribble through my already tired mind. I just hoped he didn't wake up due to the friction.
Making sure he was still deep in his fantasy world, I very slowly slid my palm under his neck, trying to lift his head up as gently as possible. The moment it went up to a certain height, I placed the pillow under his head and eventually let go, letting his head fall on the soft surface. Right away, Jungkook's expression morphed into a more restful one as he turned a bit to get comfortable on the feathery plush. His lips held a small smile while mine were extended into a straight line almost as if defining our very different existences.

Being in such vicinity with this man was making me feel things I wasn't ready for and I needed a distraction. So I unhooked my car keys from the hanger and pulling the hood over my head, I jumped into my car and drove off, eyes stagnant on the road to Incheon...

Duality
“Listen closely for this is our oldest tale… In the beginning there was peace and knowledge throughout our land… The creatures of old roamed these lands… Evil had yet to spread through our land… A rift in the very fabric of reality formed… The land burned and melted as the creatures stepped through… As the most advanced civilization… We took the mantle to combat… By the time we were able to gather half the world had already been lain bare… The war covered the once peaceful land in death and destruction… During this time humanity's greatest light arose…” Monologued the old man, red in the face from passionately spewing his praises of a past he had no part of. Written by two authors, this novel covers the tale of a pair of protagonists in a wuxia world. Oh, and maybe an isekai or two. Our goal with this project is to make an engaging and entertaining story, while making a good attempt at a somewhat realistic wuxia setting. We’re aware of the oxymoron…
