hoseok was sitting at the counter of jin's restaurant it had been two weeks since they left korea and he had talked to yoongi every single day since he left.
it was safe to say he really did like him.
but today? today was different yoongi wasn't talking to him today.
yoongi hadn't talked to hoseok all day hoseok would text him but he would just get ignored.
yoongi ignoring hoseok led to hoseok pouting all over the restaurant and messing peoples orders up.
"um excuse me this is not what i ordered, i ordered a venti triple shot half foam double whip cappuccino 1/2 shot hazelnut non-fat soy
in a tall cup... this is a black coffee." the extra costumer said with an attitude.
hoseok turned towards the costumer with an annoyed face "look i'm trying to be polite but i don't have time for this, you will take what i gave you and you will like it nobody asked your extra ass to order this complexed coffee." hoseok fumed.
the costumer was about to say something else until hoseok gave her the ugliest glare he could muster.
jin was looking at him appalled at the interaction.
jin went up to hoseok who was about to turn away from the lady "ma'am i am so sorry i will get you what you need just find another waiter to take your order" jin said passive
aggressively.
hoseok and jin walked away from the lady and went towards the back of the cafe.
"now what the hell is wrong with you? you never act like this are you on drugs right now?" jin asked with the meanest mug on his face staring into hoseoks eyes to see if they were dilated.
hoseok rolled his eyes and crossed his arms he started sniffing causing jin to look at him weird.

"what the hell is wrong with you are you on meth i am so confused." jin said genuinely confused as to what could possibly be wrong.
hoseok stared at jin with teary eyes and began pouting "yoongi didn't talk to me today i don't know if i did something wrong." hoseok said expecting jin to comfort him.
"if you think i'm about to comfort you you're wrong. hoseok i understand y'all have been texting everyday since you left but you seem to forget every time that he is an idol." jin said playing on his phone.
hoseok huffed and was about to go walk away when jin said "and if that lady is still here. go apologize as soon as i'm off work we will meet up at a park and we are fighting."
hoseok rolled his eyes when he was approaching the register next to a sad jimin, jungkook hadn't texted jimin or taehyung either but jin and taehyung was taking it better than hoseok and jimin.
hoseok saw the customer he had cussed out and huffed. hoseok made his way over there and when the lady saw him she perked up.
"i hope you're here to give me my coffee" she said rudely crossing her arms. hoseok looked at her and said "i was here to apologize but no get the fuck out we're closing" hoseok walked away leaving a shocked costumer.
today was sunday so the cafe closed three hours earlier.
hoseok, taehyung and jimin left together. taehyung was taking a different way then he usually would but hoseok and jimin were too sad to even care.
taehyung had been driving for twenty minutes before he finally pulled up to a house.
the house looked a little familiar to jimin and hoseok but they didn't question it.

"where are we at?" jimin said with scrunched up eyebrows.
taehyung got out of the car and went straight up to the door leaving jimin in confusion. jimin and hoseok got out of the car "okay bitch don't tell me."
all of them walked up to the door waiting for whomever to answer the door.
when jungkook opened the door jimin gasped and pulled out his phone "hold on i have to tell the mutuals"
the atmosphere was brought up suddenly when they entered the house everybody was now okay except for hoseok.
he was still sad because he hadn't seen yoongi yet there was no reason for him to be happy.
"oh if you're looking for yoongi he's gone but he said to go in his room" namjoon said looking at hoseok.
everybody was now looking at hoseok like they knew something "it's upstairs second door on the left" jungkook said now smiling creepily with the rest of them.
hoseok nodded and went straight upstairs "what the fuck type of shit are they on" he mumbled.
when hoseok made it towards the room he turned the doorknob slowly he went in the room cautiously... there was nothing.
he walked around the room and was about to leave until he saw a note on the bed.
a note that said "i want to date you, but namjoon said it would be better if i had a cute way to ask you so it's time for a treasure hunt for clue one go downstairs and look in the kitchen, ps hurry the fuck up."
hoseoks eyes widened even though it was pretty clear he didn't actually expect yoongi to really like him.
hoseok ran downstairs and went towards the kitchen not noticing everybody that was watching him and laughing.

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
