The streetlight from outside glowed against my window, the gentle breeze blowing through the trees branches against the shadows on my bedroom walls. I lay against my bed frame, my legs dangling in relaxation and his voice flows through the phone against my ear.

"-and that's when we decided to try and sell my art, online of course." His tone was calm but excitement flowed in each letter.

"That's wonderful, Harry." I praise. "I'm proud of you."

Harry sighs. "I couldn't of done it without you around,"

I smile widely. "I haven't done anything."

"Oh but you have."

A comforting silence runs through the air, the phone relaxed against my skin and the gentle breath of Harry almost lulled me to sleep. This happened every night the past two weeks, our phone calls would end up with one of us almost falling asleep–or sometimes actually dozing off–but it was wonderful, a warm sensation of knowing someone was there with you while you relaxed into the night.

I blink my heavy eyes open and let them rest on my open window, my heart jumps against my ribcage as a dark figure moves slowly at the edge of my window. I jolt my body up with a loud gasp, pushing my body to the window just as the figure falls down to the ground and disappears.

The phone was against the pillow and Harry's voice echoed in the background, my mind was muddled but I opened the window and threw half my body out into the cold air to search around for the figure.

My heart pounded in my ears and my hands trembled, my head twisted left and right and up and down but the figure was gone.

"Lola!?" Harry's voice washes against my ears and I return back to a reality, anxiety still running through my veins as I quickly grab the phone and hold it against my ear.

It was warm, not like the icy touch of my skin as I searched outside my window. "Someone was at my window."

"What?" Harry's voice screeched, making me flinch. "Did you see who it was?"

My heart thuds. "No, it was just a black figure and they disappeared almost instantly once I spotted them." My voice was strained, emotion in the pitch and quality.

Harry takes a breath. "You're tired, maybe you were just imagining it."

I shake my head furiously, tears brimming. "No I'm not," weak emotion falls from my lips. "I saw them, I saw someone at my window."

A sob escapes my mouth. "Are your parents home?"

"My mother is, but I can't tell her." I reply softly.

I can sense Harry's annoyance. "Why not?"

I felt so stupid explaining my anxious thoughts with Harry, although he said he understood I felt he didn't. My mother was a cruel creature at the best of times, I knew exactly what she would say and it wouldn't be in favour of me or my vision of a figure at my window. Harry questioned me again and again as to why I thought these things, but I couldn't explain to him the disguised devil my mother could be and she would use this against me and call me crazy or something. It obviously wouldn't be the first time she had–she used anything against me.

"Lock your window, close your curtains completely, and try and get some sleep, my love." Harry's voices lulled my body against the cushion of my bed, I gazed at the closed and concealed window.

"I have."

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Harry."

The phone dies, my anxiety peaks with it once his presence lingers away from my room. I settle into my bed, staring at the window with a harsh beat in my chest until I finally drifted off to sleep hours later.

"Want a drag?" Mona's chipped finger nails appear in front of me, the blunt she was smoking fogs the air around me.

We're sat in her bedroom, her floral sheets beneath our bodies as the lingering smoke fanning from her lips escapes the open window. I fiddle with the rings on my fingers as I stare at her with a curious eye, a lingering eagerness behind her peach stained lips.

"Sure," I shrug, taking the poorly rolled paper and taking a long drag of the contents. The smoke was smooth until it hit my throat, burning a dry taste through the middle of my body causing me to cough loudly. It felt nice though, lingering in my veins with a calm taste in my blood stream. I smile as Mona takes the blunt back, taking a long drag with her plump peach lips.

"So how is lover boy?" Mona asks, wiggling her thick brows.

I chuckle. "Pretty good."

"Heard from Louis at all?" That smile fades and I nod a no, lowering my eyes to my feet that kicked at the ground below.

"Something weird happened the other night though." I say, Mona's brown eyes peak in wonder as she takes another drag of the blunt. "I was in bed on the phone to Harry, and I was tired but I swear there was a black figure at my window." Mona's eyes widen, cursing out loud. "It disappeared pretty quickly, but it still freaked me out."

"I bet," Mona sighs. "Do you think it was a certain ex-boyfriend?"

I sigh loudly, I did and it scared me that it could be him. "He won't do anything if it was, you know Louis."

"Do I?"

Silence aches in the air, the echoing sound of Mona's music lingered in the smokey air as we sat in a silent aura. Agony held tightly onto my bones as I breathed slowly, hours pass without another word of the incident but the words of my best friend replayed in my mind like a broken record.

Was Louis the one at my window?

That night I arrived just after six, entering my heated home with a sigh of relief. My cheeks stained red with the cold and my lips bruised with icy edges. I remove my coat and shoes, the aroma of my mother cooking welcomed me into the kitchen. She was hovering over the stove storing away, her blue eyes fixed on nothing but the pot.

I ignore her lingering arrogance and retreat to my bedroom, once the door is opened I switch in the light to expose the darkness.

My skin jumps and my heart retreats to thumping harshly against my sore chest, a silhouette lingers by the window but once he turns my fears fade away.

"Harry," I breath. "You fucking scared the sh-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." He cuts me off by rushing towards my body, connecting his lips with mine. "I missed you okay."

I smile between his plump lips, tasting the apple cider he had clearly been drinking to pass the time. "Do my parents know you're up here."

He chuckles nervously.

My eyes widen. "How'd you get in?" Harry points to the window, the sway of a breeze brushes the silk curtains. "Oh," I say, feeling his warmth rising up my arms. "Guess I need to remember to lock that thing."

"Yes." Harry smiles before connecting our lips again, the feeling of his softness takes over me and before I know it we're moving towards my bed in a passionate make-out session.

Harry lowers my body on the mattress, his lips hovering over the skin against my sternum as he raises my shirt. The temperature rises as the martial is stripped from my trembling body, an ache in my moans as he leaves kisses against the skin of my stomach.

I let my hands wander over his hair, falling down to his neck as our lips connect again and the taste of Harry lifts me into another world of colours and vibrancy. His hands grip my body tightly, shifting down to my legs before fiddling his warm finger tips around the button of my jeans.

"Harry," I moan against his lips in a haze, his world overwhelming mine.

Time replaces reality as a crash sound emits from outside my window, both Harry and I jolt up and our faces drop with concern. I hold my arms close to my exposed skin, looking to Harry with worry as he slides off the bed and rushes to the open window.

His head pokes out into the darkness, an analyse of the yard keeps my heart thumping and my body tingles with the new cold sensation and anxiety. I fiddle my fingers, humming a question to the curious boy still peering out my window.

"I can't see anyone," Harry admits. "But I defiantly heard someone fall."

"I did too." I wail in worry.

The crash sound obviously overwhelmed any other sounds but I swore on everything I held close to me that I heard a voice, a faint and distressed sound echoing in that crash.

Harry closes the window, locking it and checking the frame thoroughly. I grab my shirt off the bed, letting it cover my body once again as I watch Harry close the curtains and walk to me with worry etched to the lines of his forehead.

"Someone's watching me, right?" I question with a slight tremble.

"I think so," Harry sighs. "I need you to keep that window locked, and the curtains closed." I nod my head. "And avoid being alone, please, anywhere in the house could be exposed to this creep so be cautious please." I just nod again, tears brimming as a lump rises in my throat. "Tell your parents, Lola."

"No,"

"Why." He asks. "They can help."

I sigh. "I'll try." My mind lowers with my eyes, fear welcomes the anxiety pulsing through my body and my bones are left trembling. "I'm worried, Harry."

"Hey," Harry coos in my ear, pulling me into a comforting embrace. "I won't let anyone hurt you."

His words grew comfort in my heart, like a blooming tree growing inside me as he holds me tightly. But in an instant that welcoming warmth could be taken away, and when Harry left that night it deflated with his absence and my anxiety kicked into a sleepless night.
