The oceans tide creeps up to shore and just misses my bare toes, the sand was cold against my feet but felt soothing against the skin it touched. My jeans are rolled up, shoes in hand while Lola carries her heels and protects the ends of her red dress.
"It's beautiful," she comments.
"There's a place up ahead I use to go as a child, my dad would fish off the rocks and I would climb around the rock pools." Lola explains, choosing to ignore those goosebumps forming against her pale skin and reminisce instead.
We've been walking a while now, the moons luminous glow against our skin. Stars sparkled across the dark skies like thousands of freckles painted on the worlds canvas, the reflection against the water leaves me breathless–causing inspiration to buzz through my bloodstream. It seemed the stars shined brighter by the coast than they did back home, and I didn't mind that at all.
Lola had a glow about her, perhaps it was that wine she had earlier that continued to buzz through her veins, or maybe it was the oceans salty air kissing her skin and the stars brightly shining into her soul.
This all felt so right, so perfect with just me and her and the moons glow against the ocean.
"I love the feelings of sand between my toes," she hums into the crisp air. "Even if it's close to freezing." I chuckle, listening to her breaths.
We stroll along the dark beach, the moonlight in our hair and the breeze against our skin. The only connection is our fingers, entwined with an icy tip to our burning hearts. I watch Lola admire the world around her like it was her first time seeing it, and perhaps it was her first time under the moonlight flooded seas but her smile made everything stand still and I adored the way it twitched a grin with each waves kissing the shore.
"Up here," she says and tugs my hand. "There's a really great view on top of those rocks." In seconds we're running hand in hand along the sandy floor beneath us, my breath comes out in a huff as she guides me up the numerous rocks.
"Be careful." I breath, holding on tight to her small hand.
Lola's giggle echoes in the air and it's like music to my ears, we climb for a few moments before reaching the top. Everything stands still up here except the breeze touching our skins, I bring her frame closer as I take in the view. My lips formed an 'o' as I whispered into the sea breeze with a enchanted allure towards the moon kissed shores, illuminating an orbiting colour against the world around us.

"So beautiful," I breath.
"Think you could paint that?" Lola questions, looking up at me with the stars in her eyes.
"I could try." I smile. "We'll have to come back."
Lola let's a small smile tug at her ruby red lips, her alluring gaze guides my lips to hers and in seconds we are locked in a passionate kiss. My hands wrap around her small frame, pulling close as she glides her hands up my back and grabs the material of my shirt between her fingers. I moan against her taste, pulling away as her lips find my neck – lipstick stained kisses left down my exposed skin.
"I think," she breaths against another kiss, our lips ghosting each other as her eyes flutter open. "I think I'm falling for you Harry."
Many thoughts shift through my mind, but I tug that smile up on my lips despite the thumping anxiety going through my head. I don't say anything, a rising lump in my throat preventing any words from forming. I simple just press my lips to hers, passionately full of lustful movements.

"H," I hear the familiar voice of Z behind me, his admiring gaze burning into the canvas I created. "That's–and excuse my language–fucking amazing, what inspired this?"
My eyes graze across the freshly painted canvas, the luminous black and shadows of the moon illustrated our first night on the beach perfectly, our silhouettes against the stars in a passionate hold. I blink my eyes, resting back to admire it with Z, for the first time in a year I was proud of what I created with that excitement bubbling inside my stomach.
"She did, again." I smile.
Z chuckles. "You've found the perfect muse there, H."
His presence lingers for a few seconds but fades away as he goes to another painter across from me, commenting on their creation with a sweet tone. I dip my brush in the paint below, adding touch ups to the canvas I created this evening. When I mark the bottom with my initials, I feel so professional in doing so and a lingering feeling of proud ambition runs through my veins.
"Leave it here to dry overnight," Z speaks as I grab my coat, nearing the front door. "I have an idea for what you can do with your art now, H."
I blink once, twice. "Yeah?"
"You're going to college in only a few months, right?"
"If I get in, yeah."
Z smiles. "You'll get in." I roll my eyes but smile nonetheless. "We can start selling your pieces, you'll get money and it'll help a lot when you head to college."

I lean against the wall behind me, contemplating his words. "How so?"
"You'll have more money, for one." he says. "And it'll get your name out there, create a status for you and your art."
Z's words made my mind run wild, the idea excited me but anxiety still lingered in the depth of my bones and I hated that gut wrenching feeling. I look out the window of his studio, the calm silence was a newly found atmosphere and I liked the aura of it. I sigh out a worried breath, Z lingers with hopeful eyes.
"No one in town is going to buy my art, that's crazy." I state.
he sighs. "We'll sell it online."
I give him a look. "You think it'll sell?"
"I do."
After a long hug and a few words of wisdom, I agreed to sell my art online for profit and see where it leads me. As I walk out of the apartment building I feel optimistic about the idea, a smile lacing my lips as I dig my hands into the pockets of my coat, beginning my walk home.
The cicadas and fireflies came upon the evening shift, the skies painted in darkness as the stars peak their bright faces beyond the clouds. I walk with a hum in my throat, my eyes glimmering against the landscape of the town as the buildings lights illuminate my surroundings. The roads were damp from the rain earlier in the day, the tall bricks of a building ahead reflected off the puddles and as I stare into the luminous reflection I adhere to the surroundings and realise what was ahead.
Michael Tomlinson owned a few buildings around town, the casino his price possession—and Louis' second home. I look at the darkness of the building, seeing the name flashing ahead like headlights on a busy highway. A feeling buzzes through me as anxiety shoots up my spine. I stand still for a moment before turning left down another street, leaving all thoughts of the blue eyed boy behind.
I arrive home before nine, my mother greeting me with unenthusiastic eyes.
"Where were you?" She questions, I walk into the kitchen with a fading smile.
"Studio,"
"You're always at that place, I don't like it."
My mothers green eyes linger on me at the doorway, her busy hands digging around the counter to prepare what I assume is her famous blueberry pie. She had flour scattered over her work shirt, dark hair frizzy and her red lips faded from hours of biting into them.
I take a seat at the counter, ignoring her earlier statement. "I'm going to start selling my art, online."
"Oh," her hands dig into the bowl, pulling out a large blob of dough. "That's nice."
"Yeah, it's going to help with college." I state and she hums in agreement.
As hardworking as my mother is, I ached to have her interest in my art. She had her moments, praising my portraits from time to time, or attending a few exhibits with me. It was a bitter-sweet energy, she worked until she couldn't stand but in all the irony of financially supporting me and my sister, she never seemed to have the energy to do so with our passions. I praise her efforts, but the lack of interest makes for a disappointing ending. But, raising us both on her own always came with its challenges and I must give her points for dealing with that every single day.
"Who's the pie for?" I question, popping a stray blueberry in my mouth.
"A client of mine," she sighs. "He's coming for dinner tomorrow night and I want it to be perfect."
"Dinner? Why would a client of yours being coming to dinner?" I question.
My mothers cheeks blush and I find myself sinking at the realisation. "A dinner—date?"
"Yes," my mother smiles. "I want you on your best behaviour, Harry."
I roll my eyes. "I'm not eight anymore, mother."
As she ignores my comment and continues kneading the dough, a hum under her breath, I find myself feeling oddly uncomfortable. The idea of my mother dating had always been a bad thought I pushed away, mainly because she never had time to sit and watch her to shows, let alone have a date.
I couldn't shake the terrible anxiety in my stomach, something that ate at me all night.

Love Of Baybur [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
The Sultanate won a huge battle against their enemies of different religion, and now left them with only a piece of land surrounded by Sultanate's forces. Baybur, a yerliyya from a backwater place, is hailed as a hero after the war for his past contributions in a strange manner and is, thus, invited to a banquet prepared by the Sultan and attended by many Great Nobles. To Baybur, who had dreams of stepping on a higher stage in Sultanate's politics, and in his Orta's ranks, this is a chance for him to shine and rise. Yet he, and many in the banquet, knows that victory is far from over. And this presents a chance, with greater risk than before, to impress the Sultan and the Pashas of the Sultanate. Sanjak-beys and Aghas of the Janissary Corps all seek to devour their enemies, both in and out of the Sultanate. And Baybur, in the midst of this brewing storm, is no different from a fish dreaming to be a dragon. But a woman he meets at the banquet changes everything; his goals, his dreams, and his fate. After all, love, without expression, is a deadly curse. As a note, Cover is not mine obviosuly, and I write this both for NaNoWriMo and Writathon. To some history lovers and nerds who specialize in it, I know you might be angered quite a deal with some things I've written.(I get the feeling when someone talks wrong foolish things in a study I know, no hate) But this is a historical fiction written by a seventeen-year-old, don't expect much from me to know every single detail. Much of my research is surface level and some things are, well, to fit plot, are changed. So bear that in mind. For schedule/chapter thingt, there will be at most five chapters until I pass the 55.555 words mark. Each chapter will be around or above 10k+ words. It is also not edited, and probably won't be unless I find a great deal of time in my hands after November to see what I lack in where. That's all. Now go read, or leap to another fiction. Enjoy!
