Juhi had recieved the call from Prachi sometime back. She couldn't comprehend why would he do all that.
Thinking no less, she called Vikram.
" Hello!"
" Hi, are you busy?"
" No, I'm not busy for a change. What is it? Missing me?"
" I didn't know, you were cocky." She chuckled. " Anyways, I called because I have to tell you something."
But before she could say anything, she heard a voice from behind. The voice was of a female, she frowned for a second, when it dawned it must be Sneha.
Sneha had a video call with Rahul, the man was being his usual self, a cartoon. Sneha laughed enough for a day that her cheeks started to hurt. Rahul was always like this when he was away.
Satisfied with the long hour call, she had proceeded to find her workaholic friend.
" Vikram?", she called out coming out of her room.
He didn't answer but she saw him sitting on the dining table with his phone on the ear.
She frowned and hit his arm,
" You couldnt answer?"
" I'm on call."
" I can see that, but keep the phone down. Have food first and then talk.", she grabbed the phone and cut the call staring at him.
He lunged at her to try and get the phone back but she was fast. She had run back into her room to hide the phone.
He ran after her but she had closed and locked the door.
" Not fair Sneha!!" , he had shouted.
He heard scrambling for a few seconds and a minute later the door opened.
" Let's eat!"
" You had to do that? " he glared at her.
" Yup!"

She just grabbed his hand and dragged him back to the dining room.
Juhi didn't see that coming. How could Sneha do that? She had an unknown feeling in her chest. She called him back, hoping he would answer. But her luck was not on her side.
She closed her eyes tightly and sighed, a minute later she opened them and went downstairs to have dinner.
Vikram was bitter even after dinner.
Seeing that Sneha sighed and went back into her room and took his phone back to him. He stared at her and snatched it back.
" No need to be so bitter!", she sulked.
" You didn't have to do that!", he sighed and unlocked his phone. He saw a missed call from Juhi. He called back but got no answer.
" Good, now we will play this childish game!"
He kept his phone in the pocket and went back to the study.
It was late night when he got a callback from Juhi, she didn't go for the pleasantries.
" Vikram, it is late. We will talk tomorrow."
She had hanged up without waiting for a response.
Vikram didn't feel good about the call. He sighed and finished his work and slept there on his desk.

We're looking through this book and want to give a huge disclaimer: this was written in 2014 when we were 15. We're now in 2021 and are 22 and find it incredibly problematic at times. This book started strong and then unfortunately it started to reflect the bad vibes of books we were exposed to at the time.
