Three weeks have passed and I'm getting pretty used to work .

Getting to the company is now an action of ease . Here and there Cass drives, but most of the time she asks me to drive .

She's a lot more emotional than before , she cried last night while we were watching titanic, and then cried when I told her that its just a movie .

I couldn't help but laugh .

I wake up early in the morning , and begin brewing up some tea . Last week Cassiey bought a new brand of cinnamon tea which she drinks everyday so I make that for the both of us .

"Good morning baby." I say to her . She looks at me and immediately I know something is wrong .

I put the teas on the nightstand . And I turn to her .

"Baby , are you okay? " I ask feeling her temperature. Her forehead feels very hot .

"I dont feel good babe." She says , and her voice sounds weak .

"Okay , okay . Stay home for today okay? You cant come to work like this . But here , have some tea ." I say and she sits up and sips the tea .

"Mhmm." She says .

I run over to the bathroom and begin doing my morning routine . After showering , I throw on my new Burberry suit .

Something tell me to check on Cass again . I dont feel well knowing that she's not okay, I get the urge not to go to work too . What if it's something serious.

"Hey babe , are you going to be okay? I have to get to work . " I tell her and she looks at me and smiles .

"Just go Ace , dont skip work because of me , it'd make me a bad mentor. " She says and chuckles .

"I love you ." I say to her and she smiles . My sweet , sweet JellyBean .

"I love you , now go ." She says .

"Stay safe Jelly bean." I say kissing her forehead .

The drive to the company is unusually quiet . When I stop in the underground parking , I notice Jason and Kayla putting on shades in their car .

I vacade the car and close the car . Whilst inside the elevator , the pair joins me .

"Morning Mr Smith , Ms Dixon." I say to them .

"Morning Mr Bernett ." Jason says and nods .

"Hey Ace." Kayla says , my body tenses , there's something I dont like about this girl.

She gives me a bad feeling . And I dont like her , especially knowing that she's hurt Cass .

The elevator dings and we walk onto the foyer .

Cass' friend Kim left a week ago for her maternity leave , there a new girl sitting there . She nods professionally at me and I return it .

When I get into the office , it feels empty without her . I begin working on the company budget Jason sent me yesterday.

As I'm working on the budget there's a knock on the door .

"Inside." I say and the person gets in.

"Oh Mr Bernett, where is Ms Miller?" Jason asks .

"She's not well , so I asked her to stay in . What do you need from her , maybe I can help." I tell him , he nods then pulls a chair for himself .

" I weighed the options that you brought up to me a month ago , and I think that taking a risk would be the best idea , because at the end of the day , the business makes double the profit in only one year from the fresh and innovative market. " He says .

"That's a smart move Mr Smith , I'll be sure to inform Ms Miller ." I say back to him .

"And to add a little onto the idea , there's been one property that Ms Miller and I looked at a few years before we started the business. One that we were sure would sky rocket the company beyond the roof ." He says with an excited smile .

My ears are itching to hear what he has to say .

Yep , I'm that passionate about my job.

"There's this resort , in Hawaii . It takes up the space of over a hundred thousand square feet . Each building has two hundred suites in it and it's worth three hundred billion dollars .

Last time we looked at it , it was being demolished but the previous owner did not finish the job and apparently he died a few years later .

When I looked it up a week ago , I found out that it still doesn't have a buyer and even worse than the last time we saw it .

This means that we can get it for a lesser price, rebuild it ourselves and rent it out for millions of dollars ." He says .

"Mr Smith , for the past month that I've known you , this is the first time I hear sense coming from your lips . That's a great idea . I'll look into it ." I say to him honestly .

"Thank you Mr Bernett , you are something else ." He says through a tight smile .

I get right back to work when we leaves . I'm surprised that Jason can use his head to think .

Heck , I'm surprised he even has a head to think with .

Soon enough its lunch hour . I grab the telephone and dial the only number I know .

The number that belongs to my best friend and the love of my life . Cass.

It rings once and she picks up.

"Hey you." I hear from the end . She sounds so much better . My heart churns from hearing her voice.

"Hey Jelly bean . How are you feeling ?" I ask. I hear honks from the background.

"Where are you going?" I ask . She chuckles and then says .

"Too many questions babe . But I'm feeling a bit better and I'm heading to see a doctor . I'm not going to sit around and do nothing. " she says .

"Atta girl!" I say and she laughs .

That's my baby . I know she doesnt like to be idle and I'm proud of her for taking that step without being told .

Usually she'd mope around and then sulk when I tell her to do something . Then she'd tell me that I can't control her life . And then she'd be stubborn and stay sick until I drag her to see a professional .

"I have to go babe . See you at home . I'll make your favourite. " She says .

"Bye Jellybean." I say and she hangs up.

Damb I'm so lucky. I want to do all that I can to prove to her that I'd never treat her the way Jason did .

I want to give her the life that she deserves and the love that she needs .

I'll be her mother if I have to , I'll be her best friend, her father , her boss and even her boss . Whatever she needs me to be.

Work flies by quickly after that . As I walk out of the office I hear clicking getting closer behind me .

"Ace !" A voice I know says .

"Its Mr Bernett ." I say turning around .

"Oh come on , loosen up." She says and I notice Bailey next to her .

Is this some kind of ambush?

"Hello ladies ." I say sounding as uninterested as possible .

"Where's your girlfriend ?" Bailey asks .

"My fiancee is at home because she is sick . And I need to get back to her to check on her ." I say , emphasizing the word fiancee .

"Come on Ace , Cassiey is not around. You dont have to pretend like you actually love her .

We know the drill . You get there pretend to like the person and the suck them dry of their money and cheat . That's what Jason did , that's what I did and that's what Bailey did . But of course now I'm in love with Jason." Says Kayla .

"I . Am . Not . You." I say pointing at her .

"I love Cassandra more than anything . I love her more than I love my own life . I will not pretend to be someone I'm not for money .

Whether Cassandra is rich or not , I am going to love her the same . I didnt know that she had all of this back in prison and frankly I dont care that she has this m

I love her. That's the end of the story ." I say and I walk away from both of their stunned faces .

The drive home is nerve wracking. I have no idea what results I'm going to go home to .

The moment the building comes to view , I rush inside .

Cass is behind the big island , whipping something up. When she hears my footsteps, her head turns up and she smiles.

I sit on the barstool and she walks around the table towards me . Smiling , I sigh .

"You look so much better ." I say to her.

"Hey baby." I greet and she pecks my lips .

"Hey daddy ." She says with a smile .

"Oh , you wanna go now? Yes mam' " I say grabbing her ass cheek .

"Not that kind of daddy you pervert ." She says , and I pout .

"I'm happy to be a pervert if it involves you baby . " I say and she smiles .

"What did the doctor say?" I suddenly ask . I remember how nerve wrecking it had made my day .

She looks at me , as if she want me to guess . She smile and holds my hands .

"We're going to be parents ." She says and I swear my heart just fell from my chest . It literally just melted .

"What?" I ask, tears filling my eyes .

"You're going to be a daddy and I'm going to be a mommy. " She says , crying too .

She hold me and I hold her too . I've wanted to be a parent for the longest time in my life .

Jesus christ . I dont believe it . I've wanted to be a parent since I thought I met the love of my life - of course that was a stretch - but now here I am , about to father a child conceived by a woman I love with every fiber of my body.

" I cant wait to run around and chase after him. And leave off problem to you. And hear and a little human that we made call you mommy ." I say to her and she burst out in tears .

"I love you ." She says . This moment is perfect . And theres no other place I'd rather be .
