April likes the rush, the fear and the feeling of superiority. As witch heads hit the ground she can feel a slight high. It was never about the violence or the bloodshed. Just the feeling of being better at someone at something.
Donovan stopped chewing off a head a little while ago and he'd just stopped in Wolf form to see April singlehanded take down 3 witches while they threw countless spells at her. Donovan was amazed by her strength but also a little unsettling.
Donovan watched as she did a back flip kicking an older woman in her face. The witch stumbles back and attempts to say something but April finished her off with a side kick right to the side of her face.
After she finished she breathed heavily turning to Donovan. Her eye was bleeding pretty badly now.
"Why are you glowing?" She asked and Donovan ran to her, his furry back catches her head before it hits the hard ground.
He wants to call for help but he would have to shift in front of soldiers or he'd be naked which would be a dead give away anyways.
He doesn't know what to do in this moment so he turns to her and prays to the moon goddess that he can save her.
He leans over the girl. His thick wet tongues runs over her eye. The taste of iron is very prominent on his tongue but it doesn't stop him. He carried her to a small cave deep into the moon kingdom's woods. Since he wasn't sure how to get her up the wall without raising suspicion.
He lays on the cold ground of the cave and carries April's body and lays her down on him.
"Where are we?" April's gentle voice spoke to him.
"I'm not quite sure if I'm being honest."
"Do you regret following me?" April asked rubbing her injured eye.
"I would follow you anywhere and still be perfectly happy just to stand besides you."
"You're annoyingly affectionate." April said and Donovan grabbed her face turning her towards him.
He looks at her eye and it seemed to have been back to normal. Only now the orb inside is a couple shades lighter than it used to be.
"Does it hurt?" Donovan asked and April nods.
"I can handle it." April said after a moment of silence.
Donovan places a kiss on her eyebrow. She kisses him, it's a plain gentle kiss that's more of a peck than a real kiss but he glows with happiness at it.
"Thanks." April said shyly turning away from the naked man. not knowing how else to respond to her own actions.
"Does anywhere else hurt?" Donovan asked pursing his lips.
"And you ruined it."
"Are we on the moon side?" April asked and Donovan nods in reply.
"How are we going to get back to the sun?"
"I was hoping you'd help figure that out."

"You're really pretty." Everett said to Akia who was finally getting the hang of the alphabet. He'd been teaching her for 3 days now and she was finally beginning to understand.
"You keep saying that" Akia said with warm cheeks.
"Does it make you uncomfortable?" Everett asked and akia shook her head.
"No one really compliments me anymore."
"Let me make it my purpose in life."
Akia feels her cheeks and then her body heat up almost instantly.
"You're picking everything up so quickly" Everett said pushing strains of his long blonde hair out of his eyes.

"I think April tried to teach me once. I think I'm just now recalling everything from back then."
He nods moving to small three letter words.
"Can I ask you a question?" Akia asked as she copied what he was writing.
"Sure 'kia."
"Do you believe in soul mates?" Akia wanted to know, she personally didn't believe in soul mates at all. Especially if the king was supposed to be hers yet he's just a ball of angry energy towards her. She knew some of it was her fault, stepping out of line in almost every occasion to someone like a king who wasn't used to it and couldn't really do anything about it.
"No, i think human beings are too complicated for soul mates. I mean everyone i know has like 20 layers to them. They all want one thing but need another. The person they need might come up to them and tell them I'm ready to love you wholeheartedly and they'd refuse it and the person they want might come up to them with the same idea in mind and they'd still refuse them. I don't think it's possible for humans to have soul mates because a human heart is easily manipulated and its constantly confused. You could've already met your soul mate and you would've easily just passed right by him without even a blink of an eye."
"Do you think that it's possible for humans to have soul mates?" Akia asked letting everything he said sink into her.
She thinks to herself, if the king was her age and was in her status or even a commoner if she would've been able to recognize him as her soul mate. Even now if he hadn't forced himself into her if she would've been able to just love him. He was handsome sure, he wasn't necessarily a bad person on a good day..
she supposed. He killed Julius for no reason at all- akia brain crashed at that thought. Of course she couldn't love the king. Julius couldn't have possibly been the only person he'd ever just thoughtlessly murdered.
"Anything is possible. I mean five nights ago i was eating lunch with a giant 9'8 troll who wanted love advice." Everett said and akia stopped writing to lean on his shoulder.
"Do you think I'm special? Like i could give something to the world? I don't just mean like being a mother i mean as a person alone."
"What kind of question is that Akialine. Have you met you?"
"I have and I'm boring and empty headed. April is so strong and she could fight anyone, anytime. Clast is a real knight, who has fought and won wars just like in the stories and I wasn't born with any real accomplishments in mind. I just walked around aimlessly."
"Everyone serves the earth in their own ways Akia. When you were 5 or 6 even, your mother used to own slaves do you remember that?" Everett asked and akia nodded.
"Do you remember what you did that made her furious with you?"
"Oh no. She was so angry, she never hit me like she hit clast and April but somehow it hurt so much to see her disappointment."
"You took gold from the cellar , and you packed fruits from the kitchen into sacks. You were 5 akia but you could tell that they weren't happy staying there against their will. You set them free, you gave them enough gold to start their lives. I remember being so astounded by you. I thought it was insane how brave that was. I was 10 but I couldn't have ever attempted to do something like that. You've always been so kind, to everyone about everything. Your strength is so much greater than everyone else's. You're stronger than April and Clast combined.. you want to know why?" Everett ast turning akia's face to his.

"Why?" Akia asked.
"Because you'll never have to fight for yourself. Everyone who has ever encountered your kindness would jump in front of an army of dragons to protect you."
"You're exaggerating" akia said
turning away. Everett turns her face once more.
"I would fight a dragon for you." He said, his eyes drifting to akia's lips.
"Just one?" Akia said jokingly not registering the tension of the moment.
"One is enough, lets not get crazy." Everett said and akia laughs as he lets go of her chin.
"Thank you Everett. You're the greatest." Akia said.
"If you say so 'Kia."

The king felt a bad feeling in his stomach as he brings up a teacup to his lips.
He blames it on the dark magic he used not that many days back but he never reacted to black magic at all before. In fact he thrived on it, it gave him a buzz but this time it just created a terrible feeling in his stomach.
"Your majesty there's a girl here to see you." Juliet said and the king looked up at her and glared. He was still very much upset with her and he still didn't like to look at her.
The girl comes in, she's wearing a very big puffy pink dress with white frilled sleeves.
She struggles to bow with a corset so the king waved it off.
"Your majesty I'm Eleanor worship, my father is-"
"I know who your father is." The king said with a bored tone as he placed the tea cup down.
"I'm also Akia best friend."
"Are those your credentials?, you're someone's daughter and another one's friend?" The king asked and Eleanor blushed at his cold tone.
"My king, I wanted to speak to you regarding akia's position in the palace."
"when did you become her spokesperson?"
"I'm not. But growing up i always wanted us to marry at the same time because we were made for each other. And i just want to know if you have the intention of marrying her or If i should match her up with someone else. "
The tea cup falls to the ground.
"She's pregnant." The king said as if it was the only answer he had to give the girl.
"Oh i know but you don't want to Marry her or make her the queen mother so I'm planning to marry her off myself. Akia doesn't deserve to spend her eternity alone and besides even knowing she's carrying the sun king makes all the men who wanted her before want her more. Could you imagine having a child that shares a direct bloodline with the king of this entire world and many more besides it."
"I don't want to believe that you came here to infuriate me. I want to believe that what you're saying is somehow supposed to be enlightening or helpful. I will not continue this conversation with you otherwise."
"Please Try to answer quickly your majesty. I have this feeling in my gut that says that you might lose this battle." Eleanor bows perfectly this time as she makes her way out towards the giant doors.
"What exactly do you mean by that?"
"There maybe someone who actually wants her, someone who she may actually want in the end." Eleanor turns to speak to the king.
"She's still the prettiest flower of the south after all."
That terrible feeling in his gut seemed to double.
So he finished up with his guest for the day. He asked for a carriage be prepared for him. He was going to see Akia when the sun was down for the night.

" 'Kia come catch fireflies with me." Everett said and Akia who was sitting on the bench in the dark watching Everett run around with a wide glass jar in his hand.
"I took a shower already." Akia said patting the pretty light yellow dress that held her snugly.
"I promise I won't let you fall or get your dress dirty." Everett said and Akia shook her head.
"No thanks." Akia said continuing to write on a piece of paper on her lap.
Everett tries to think of how to get her to come over to him. Akia used to love catching fireflies so much that April and Everett were forced to go out and do it with her because she was too young to go out at night on her own.
"I think I caught a fairy."
Akia gasped, she's always been fascinated by the Fairies. She's the only one in her family and friends that has never seen one.
"Where where?" Akia asked and Everett laughed.
"I lied but now you're already up might as well catch fireflies with me."
"Everett I have to study." Akia whined getting ready to turn away.
"You've been studying all day." Everett said wrapping a hand around her waist and turning her back to him.
"It's just really important that I learn how to read" Akia said and Everett isn't sure why and he doesn't question it.
"You can't run around with me just for one night?" Everett said looking at her glowing skin in the moonlight.
"No I'm a very busy woman." Akia said attempting to walk away.
His arms tighten around her.
"I can't let you go." Everett said.
Akia takes a deep breath.
"Fine, I'll catch fireflies with you but you have to test me on spelling as we go." Akia said and Everett agrees.
They run around having fun. Akia feels her heart welling. She hasn't had fun in such a long time and she knows she's been repressing the news about her mother, simply because it was an overly painful thought. But she's been so grateful to have Everett there. He filled this April and younger clast sized hole in her heart and made her feel so full of love all the time.
She couldn't even think about her mother's betray.
"Ah" Akia tripped on a branch on the floor. She's upset that she's messed up her dress so when Everett gives her a hand she refuses to take it.
She crosses her arms and remained on the floor.
"You made me dirty my hair and dress." She whined with a pout on her face.
"I'm never getting up." She said.
"Is that a spider?" Everett said and Akia struggles to get up with the lining under her dress. Everett gives her a hand and she takes it. He pulls her up so fast that her body slams into his.
"You're so mean." Akia said turning around still to look for the spider she knew probably didn't exist.
Everett pats her back attempting to get the dirt from her dress.
"Thank you." Akia said turning to look at him.
"What for-" Everett asked and Akia shrugged.
"I wasn't having fun before you came. I was confused, sad and really lost. I was trying to grasp at anything that made me feel strong and I was really lonely insi-." Akia said and Everett rubs her upper back comfortingly.
Akia doesn't know what else to say, she didn't want to tell him about the king or even her mother. She wanted him to remain as carefree and happy towards her as he's been so far.
she just leans her head on his shoulder letting herself be engulfed fully in him.
"Thank you."
"I have something to tell you 'Kia." Everett said attempting to take Akia out of the hug but she just nuzzles in closer.
"What's wrong?" Akia asked.
"I came back for you." He whispered in her ear.
Akia's heart melts at the words and she's frozen in her spot.
"What do you mean? "
"Before I left you weren't a woman yet. I never saw you as anything more than my sister then. But April updated me as you grew and she told me about how you were. I spend a lot of time traveling to places I knew you'd like so I was constantly being reminded of you."
"What are you saying?" Akia asked not moving from the embrace.
"I'm saying I want to marry you Akia."
A bright light spreads in the area they were standing in. Akia jumps from Everett when she notices the person holding the light.
Her heart drops and she's filled with fear.
