Edward sprung in front of Aquila as he let out a feral snarl which made James growl back. Aquila put her hand on Edward's arm as she pulled him behind her. The Cullens let out a protective growl when Aquila decided to step out of their line and come face to face with the three nomads.
"I saw your portrait in the Malfoy Manor." Laurent said, trying to diffuse the tension. He had heard of how ruthless the Blacks are. He had seen Bellatrix when the three of them were invited to join the deatheaters. Laurent refused and sped away after hearing the dark lord's offer because of the Volturi's declaration of neutrality. Victoria and James on the other hand stayed a little longer than he did. "I heard the dark lord had sent his followers to find the missing heiress of the most ancient and most noble house of Black. I never expected to encounter the heiress here."
"You've heard of me? Fantastic. Now you know it will do you more good than bad if you walk away and never tell anyone about what you saw here." Aquila said with the most vicious warning tone they have heard. No one expected the sweet and bubbly Aquila to sound so dominant and authoritative. Her voice gave them shivers.s
"The girl is with us." Carlisle declared.
"We knew better than to harm a Black." Laurent answered.
"Just try it." Emmett growled, feeling very protective of his new sister.
"I think it's best if you leave." Carlisle suggested.
"Yes. I can see the game is over. We'll go now." Laurent said then sped away.
Jasper and Edward smiled proudly, sensing and reading the fear of the other vampires. But James and Victoria remained standing.
"My my. The dark lord will reward us if we give you back to him." James said, letting his and Victoria's dark mark show.
"Unfortunately, I cannot let you bring unnecessary attention in this town." Aquila said, bringing her wand out.
"What are you gonna do, little princess? Stun me?" Victoria taunted.
"Being raised as a pureblood and a Black has its perks, dear." With some wand swishes, Aquila created a protective dome upon the Cullens. "And growing up with defense against the dark arts as a school subject can come in very handy." Aquila said and smirked.

The infamous Black smirk, a window towards their well known Black madness. It's as if something took over Aquila. Something without remorse. Something who wouldn't think twice before killing. Something sadistic, sociopathic and dangerous.
"Petrificus Totalus." Aquila whispered as her wand pointed at James.
"Let him go!" Victoria snarled as she tried to lunge at Aquila. Edward wanted to intervene and protect the Black witch but neither him or his family can get out of the dome Aquila created. With a flick of Aquila's wrist, Victoria was sent flying inside the forest.
"You joined the dark lord even after Aro declared vampire neutrality. You are the dark lord's little slaves, slaves of a blood supremacist who is a half blood himself. A man who wouldn't hesitate to massacre families and murder an innocent baby. Because of your dark lord, my mother was killed by her brother. Because of your dark lord, I lost my godparents. Because of your dark lord, I grew up without a father and he only got inside my life for less than two years. Because of your dark lord, my uncle had to die in a cave as dark creatures ripped him to pieces. Because of your dark lord, my family turned against each other. Because of your dark lord, my aunt killed my father. Because of your dark lord I lost a lot of people. I won't let any of you take something away from me ever again." Aqulia said with venom in her voice. Esme looked at the girl as her heart aches. She lost too much at such a young age. The other Cullens' urge to protect her heightened.
Aquila unfreezed James. Then she turned into a white smoke, appearing behind him. He tried to speed towards her direction but she was gone in a pop, appearing a little further in his right. He tried to catch her again but she popped away. She toyed with him as he visciously growled in frustration.
"Enough! Face me, you little bitch!"
"Your wish is my command." She whispered from behind him. He was about to face her when she appeared a few meters in front of him. She pointed her wand at him and whispered a curse that made James want to run away. "Fiendfyre."

Huge flames erupted from the tip of her wand as it formed into a lion as big as a house. The lion knelt from Aquila's side as it awaits his mistress' orders. "Burn him." His mistress whispered. And after one loud roar, the lion made of fire engulfed the vampire without remorse. A brief shout of pain was heard before he turned into ashes. Then the lion made of flame disappeared.
Aquila was forced to explain to the Cullens about everything. She told them about the wizarding world but she didn't mention anything about the war. She explained to them about Voldemort, how her headmaster and potion professor sent her away to protect her. She explained her title as Mistress Black or the Lady of the most ancient and most noble house of Black. She told them everything that she had been through since she started Hogwarts, the dark parts.
First year, she had to face Voldemort with Harry as they try to go pass a three headed dog, a plant that strangles them, flying murderous keys, giant death trap chess board and poisonous potions.
Second year, people suspected Harry to be the heir of Slytherin and they suspects her to be Harry's follower. They were seen as the next Voldemort and Bellatrix. She told them about the cowardly professor, her best friend almost dying, a handsome version of Voldemort and a basilisk whom she was able to fight with a wand but wasn't able to look at it as she does until Harry and her finally stabbed the blasted creature with the sword of Gryffindor.
Third year, she told them how she thought her mass murderer of a father wanted to kill Harry and her. She told them how they reunited and was able to find out the truth and who was the real traitor, a rat man called Peter Pettigrew.
Fourth year, she told them how she was forced to support Harry as her godbrother was also forced to enter a deadly tournament. She told them how a death eater posing as a professor tricked her into touching a portkey that delivered her into a graveyard where she witnessed her godbrother being tortured and the boy that was courting her dead.
Before fifth year, Dumbledore took her to Italy as they spoke with the Volturi coven, the vampire royalties. Dark times was about to come and the said vampire coven didn't want to be caught in the middle. World domination might not be a bad idea but none of the three kings wanted to kneel to anybody.
Fifth year, she told them how Harry and her were labeled liars by the whole wizarding world for declaring Voldemort's return. She told them how they were tortured, showing them the scar in her left hand saying 'I must not question authority'. The sight of the scar made Edward, Jasper, Emmett Esme and Rosalie growl in anger as Alice and Carlisle tries to calm them down. She told them how they created a secret army that they trained. She told them about the first time she duelled her aunt in the battle on the Department of Mysteries. She told them how her father died at Bellatrix' hand, that being her aunt's way to punish her.
Her cousin Draco was marked by the dark lord in her sixth year. She had to help her cousin in his mission to assassinate their headmaster, giving him plans that can fail so that Draco wouldn't have the headmaster's death in his conscience. She told them how Dumbledore took her and Harry in a cave to retrieve a horcrux locket. She told them how the headmaster and the potion professor already planned the headmaster's death in advance. She told them how she had to duel her aunt that killed her father for the second time to defend her school.
She told them through her memories, through Dumbledore's pensive that he made Aquila carry. He instructed her to put it back the next time she steps foot in Hogwarts again.
After seeing Aquila's memories, Edward pulled his mate into a hug. He wanted to protect her. He wanted to shield her from everything. The Cullens had a silent agreement. If push comes to shove, they will stand with Aquila Callisto Black.
But an unexpected thing happened, a silver horse patronus came barging into the house. They were shocked after hearing a woman's voice coming out of the horse's mouth.

Obligate of a Self-Ordained Sorcerer
Come join the Discord! It was a typical late-night friday for Mara, secluded in her apartment in front of a digital expanse, relentlessly mashing code into a keyboard. An introverted workaholic, but this was what she wanted - what she had strived so hard to achieve. So why did she feel so lost? Her life was productive, comfortable, satisfying. Plenty had it worse but she still felt... ungrateful? Stunted? The right word escaped her, but she could feel the general revelation settling upon her. With it came a choice that would set events in motion far beyond the meager scope of a 'New Game+'. So taking an intrusive portal to god-knows-where, Mara will come to find that her new world offers boons and banes with equal abandon. Magic, skills, and unforgiving difficulty. For a frail human shut-in, finding herself stranded in the middle of a sprawling dungeon was one of the least desirable outcomes. Food and water would be the least of her problems, why oh why couldn't she just get summoned by some pervy king to slay a demon army or something? This is a story of magic and adventure with skills and stats galore. A litrpg / isekai epic that I've been inspired to make after years of wonderful works like "So I'm a Spider," "Rimuru the Slime," "Azarinth Healer," "Negima!?," and plethora of other isekai and fantasy novels and animes. Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.
