《•°From Peer to Professor°• Severus Snape x Reader》Essentials

Upon arriving at Spinner's End, I sighed happily. I was glad to be back because I had grown attached to the distinct feeling that comes from living here. The first thing I did when we walked inside was go up to our room and sit down on the bed. I was exhausted and wanted to take a nap before dinner. So that's exactly what I did.
I woke to the pleasant smell traveling up the stairs into the bedroom. Checking the clock, I noticed it was 7:23. I had slept through the usual time we ate dinner.
I threw the heavy sheets aside and lifted myself off the bed. Getting used to the extra weight wasn't all that easy. It took a little more effort to do everyday things compared to months before.
A minute later, I found myself in the kitchen where Severus had set the table for dinner. He looked up in my direction while setting down two plates of food.
"Sleep well?" He asked me while walking over to me.
"Yeah, I really needed that nap." I replied with a sigh before sitting down with him.
As we ate, a thought came to mind,
"So."
Severus looked up and waited for a moment.
"So?" Severus seemed at a lose, not knowing what it was I was about to bring up.
"I just wanted to know if now were a good time to talk about, preparations." I replied after taking a sip of my water.
"Ah, yes, now seems like a good time." Severus replied.
"Great! I had a couple ideas I wanted to share with you.." I smiled as I set my fork down to explain.

After about an hour, Severus and I were ready to just go to sleep. Although I had had a nap not too long ago, I was still sleepy. I got into bed immediately after brushing my teeth and waited for Severus to do the same. He walked out of the bathroom a minute later and sighed.
"I am utterly fatigued." Severus said as he sat down on the bed.
"I can tell. You're hair is all messy." I replied while ruffling up his hair.
"And now it's even messier." I grinned.
Severus instead of giving me an 'are you serious' look, decided to kiss my cheek and lay down. He must really be tired if he let me get away with that.
I decided to lay down as well and tucked my head under his chin,
"Goodnight, Severus."
"Goodnight, (Y/N)."
Severus and I woke up bright and early the next morning. We had planned out the night before what we would do for the day and I was excited. Our plan was to buy the basics we'd need to take care of Elora.
We decided to go to a maternity shop I had seen an ad for in the Daily Prophet a few months ago.
As we were walking down the street, I spotted the logo of the store hanging in the window of a cozy looking building. The sign read,

Bellaluna's Maternity Boutique.
Severus opened the door for me. We both heard the small chime go off that was hanging above the doorframe. In seconds a woman walked up to us and asked us what we were interested in finding today.
"We're looking for the basics, so.. a crib, clothes.." I trailed off trying to count off the things we had come searching for.
I was a bit awkward when it came to talking with overly outgoing people, even though I was one myself at times.
"The basics! Well.. I can surely help you with that. If you would please follow me.." The kind woman led us into a back isle where an assortment of cribs were being showcased. A particular one caught my eye immediately.
"Ah yes! Quite a popular style of crib this year. A polished ebony frame with claw foot legs." The woman walked up to the crib and showed us the functions it had, such as the gate that lowered to half it's height.
"I believe I speak for both (Y/N) and myself when I say that this is quite possibly the one." Severus responds before I can form a reply.
"Splendid! What other items are you two interested in finding today then?"
We found basically everything we needed at that store. We had the larger furniture pieces apparated home, while we carried the rest.
"Severus, why won't you let me carry some of the bags?" I asked him as we exited the store.
"I don't want you to strain yourself." Severus replied.
"As if a bag of baby clothes will cause me back pain." I chuckled, but let Severus take the bag in the end.
Upon arriving home, I realized something.
"Severus." I stopped in my tracks at the kitchen table.
"What is it, (Y/N)? Are you feeling alright?" Severus worried like he always does nowadays.
"Yes, I'm fine, I just realized something. We haven't told my mother the news yet." I told him with a somewhat worried look on my face.
"Would you like to visit her? I doubt informing her by Owl Post would be appropriate." Severus offered.
"Yeah, do we still have time today? You have a meeting at Malfoy Manor tonight don't you?" I asked, unsure if we should go today or not.
"We have time. It is important that we tell her. Besides, the meeting isn't until later tonight." Severus reassured me.
I smiled at him and grabbed my wand off of the kitchen table to put in my holster before walking with him to the door.
We apparated to the steps of my mother's house in the late afternoon. I was extremely nervous. I had no idea what she'd think about a this. She is a kind person, but I still had a smidge of doubt. We rung the doorbell and stood back a bit.
As I had predicted, (B/N)'s footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. Before the steps could reach the door though, my mother opened the door. She looked at us with a smile and gestured for us to come inside.

I looked around inside and didn't see (B/N) anywhere. That is until I felt someone tickle me from behind. I jerked my head around and saw (B/N) standing there with a huge smile on his face.
"Hey (B/N)! Wow, you've grown a lot taller since Christmas!" I grinned at him and knelt down to hug him.
"Mhm! I'm taller than Michael now!" (B/N) boasted.
"Whose Michael?" I asked him.
"Michael's a friend of his from the nearest house over. His family moved in there a couple months ago." My mother explained to me.
I nodded in understanding and got back up. Severus gave me a hand while I did so.
(B/N) had apparently been drawing in his room before we arrived, so he went back to do that while Severus and I followed my mother into the kitchen to sit and drink tea.
"So what's the occasion of your visit today?" My mother asked us.
"Can we not just visit you out of the blue?" I chuckled.
My mother didn't seem to believe me, so I sighed and put together a response.
"Actually.. Severus and I did have a reason for coming here today." Severus held my hand reassuringly as a way of comforting me.
I pulled out my wallet which held a vital image. An ultrasound to be exact. Severus and I had visited a doctor every couple weeks since January and for our most recent visit, we were able to see Elora for the first time. I believe that was one of the few moments I saw Severus smile for a long period of time.
I took out the picture and slid it over the table towards my mother. She turned it around and a hand flitzed up infront of her gaping mouth.
She looked up at me and asked with joy,
"Are you serious?"
I nodded happily and she got up to rush around the table and hug me. She was crying at this point. I was beginning to, and Severus.. well I doubt Severus was crying.
My mother looked back down at the image and read Elora's name. We had written it in the card just after coming up with the name.
"Elora.. so it's a girl?" She asked hopefully.
I nodded and she seemed even happier.
"Oh, I can't wait to meet her, (Y/N)!" She seemed about ready to explode from excitement.
She decided to then pull Severus into a hug as well. I could see he was slightly uncomfortable due to the tight squeeze. I chuckled at this, to which Severus glared at me playfully.
Some time later, we had decided it was time for us to go home.
"Please come visit more often if you're able to. I'd love to catch up some more." My mother told us as she meant against the front door's frame.
"We hope for the same Mrs. (Y/L/N)." Severus replied.
"Oh please Severus, you can call me (Y/M/N). After all, you're going to be the father of my very first granddaughter." My mother said with another spurt of excitement.
Severus reddened a small bit at the implication and returned the smile for a second.
"Ok, well. See you soon Mom! I hope to visit again soon." I told my mother.
"Alright, hope to see you both soon." She responded before we apparated to Spinner's End once more.
Well, more like Severus apparated us home. He doesn't want me using too much of my energy right now.
We walked inside and I decided to get ready for bed. Severus still had that meeting to attend in an hour, so he was downstairs putting some dishes away before then. I opened the door to the bedroom and looked over at the dresser. A dark figure was standing there, which caused me to gasp loudly and pull my wand out in front of me.
"(Y/N)!? Has something happened!?" Severus sounded extremely worried as he does up the stairs and into the room, wand in hand.
"Hello again (Y/N). Miss me?" The voice spoke as the figure turned around to face us.
I recognized the voice immediately. It seems Severus did too because he was currently glaring and didn't lower his wand either.
It was Tyler.
"What is your business here, boy?" Severus asked with slightly gritted teeth.
"Calm yourself, Severus. Wouldn't want to make (Y/N) feel even more tense than she already is, right? And that brings me to my next question, how's the little thing doing anyways, hm?" Tyler asked as he walked up to us.
Severus Cast a spell to keep him back.
"Why should we tell you anything?" I responded angrily.
Lord Voldemort sent me. Told me to tell you there isn't a meeting tonight and just wanted me to check on you." Tyler explained.
"Well we're fine. So if you'll just leave now it would be greatly appreciated." I told him with a sarcastic tone.
"Jeez (Y/N), don't need to tell me twice. I don't want to hang around Severus longer than I have to anyways. Well, see ya then." And just like that, he was gone.
I sighed and set my wand down on the nightstand before laying back on the bed. Tyler was surprisingly right. I was pretty tense, and Severus seemed to notice as well.
"If that boy weren't the Dark Lord's little apprentice, I'd have killed him a million times already.." Severus groaned and took a seat on the opposite side of the bed.
I chuckled at his statement and waited for Severus to join me. He did after changing into more comfortable clothes. I had gotten up to do the same as him but returned to the bed immediately after.
He held me in a warm hug-like embrace to calm me down. Snuggling into Severus' shoulder is what I really needed at that moment.
"I hope you can sleep well tonight after all that.." Severus said with his tired voice.
"I will. Goodnight Sev." I replied sleepily.
"Goodnight, Love."
