《•°From Peer to Professor°• Severus Snape x Reader》Jealousy

I woke up the next morning, feeling well rested. Eager to know what it was Severus had planned today, I turned onto my other side to see if he was still there or if he had left to go downstairs. To my surprise, he was still asleep. I smiled at this and decided to have a little fun in waking him up.
"Sevy.." I whispered into his ear.
He stirred slightly and then turned away from me, still fully asleep. I huffed and crossed my arms at the failed attempt in waking him up. Deciding that waking him up would be no use, I just got up to get dressed. After that, I made my way downstairs and looked for something to make us for breakfast.
I woke up to the sound of an unnecessarily loud crow. I attempted to block out the sound in order to rest my eyes a short while, but to no avail, the crow cawed louder. I threw my pillow aside and only then realized that I was alone in the room. Odd.
After having changed into attire suitable for the day, I made my way downstairs to be met with a pleasant aroma. Turning the corner, I saw (Y/N) standing at the stove, preparing breakfast.
"Good morning." I greeted her as I made my way over to her.
"Morning. I hope you like hash browns with egg, because that's what I'm making." She replied while keeping her focus on the stove.
"I don't believe I've ever had hash browns before. The name sounds rather American." I asked her.
"That's because it is." She replied with a smile.
I watched her prepare the food for a couple minutes before the silence was broken.
"Severus, since it is now technically tomorrow from last night, could you tell me what it is we have to attend?" She asked me curiously while plating the food.
"Yes, I believe now is a good time to explain." I sat down with (Y/N) at a small table in the kitchen before continuing my explanation,
"We are going to attend a dinner with the Malfoy's."
"What? Why?" (Y/N) looked very much confused at my statement.
"The Malfoy's often have dinner's like these with either relatives or close friends of theirs. I attend these merely because I have to." I explained.
"And why is that?" (Y/N) asked me, seeming more interested about this dinner than before.
"Because I am their son's godfather." I responded before continuing to eat my breakfast.
"Seriously!? I'd never expected you to be the godfather type." (Y/N) chuckled at my previous response.

"Well believe it or not, I am. Which means we will need to attend this dinner." I replied.
"I guess that means I'll need something formal to wear right? I can make a quick trip home then. I have a dress or two in my closet that might work." She offered.
I nodded in response before the two of us continued eating in silence. A thought came to mind when I had finished my breakfast. It was about something I believed would be very useful for today. I gestured for (Y/N) to follow me upstairs before making my way towards my bedroom. I walked towards the chest that sat under the only window in the room and inhaled before opening it. Dust flew around as the heavy lid creaked open.
"What are you doing Sev?" (Y/N) asked me.
"I have something that I believe may come in use tonight." I replied before pulling out what I had been looking for.
"This was my mother's dress." I explained as I placed the folded dress into (Y/N)'s hands.
She stared at it in awe and replied,
"It's beautiful Severus. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome. Why don't you try it on? Just to make sure it fits you." I suggested.
She smiled at me and then made her way to the bathroom to change. I sat down on the bed and waited.
A couple minutes went by where I just stared out the window, not thinking about anything in particular.
"Severus?" I heard (Y/N)'s voice call from the doorway.
I stood up and turned swiftly at the sound of her voice. I was rendered speechless at the sight of her wearing the dress.
I had trouble finding the words to form a proper sentence. But by the time I was able to, (Y/N) was already stood in front of me.
"Speechless?" She asked me with a grin.
I nodded in response, taking in all of her features.
"I guess that's a good thing, right?" She asked me.
I rose my hand up to her face and gently stroked her cheek,
"A very good thing."
Severus and I spent the day just hanging inside. We read most of the time, but also finished a crossword puzzle together. I was glad to have his help, because it was harder than the last puzzle by far.
It was nearing 5pm by the time we finished said crossword puzzle. The both of us got up to get changed for dinner and then met up downstairs in the living room.
"Ready?" Severus asked me, reaching his hand out toward me.
"Ready." I responded and took hold of his outstretched hand.

We apparated in front of a large wrought iron gate. It towered at least a couple meters over our heads.
"Whoa. The Manor is much bigger than I thought it was." I told Severus before we entered.
The walk up to the entrance of the house took a short while, but I got to take a look around at the tall hedges on the way there. We stopped in front of the door and looked at each other shortly. Severus then grabbed hold of the door knocker and knocked on the door three times.
The door opened to reveal a large entry hall. Severus and I stepped inside. As we walked down the hall I could hear our footsteps echoing each time we took a step forward. It felt as if these hallways went on forever.
"Ah, Severus! There you are. Oh, and Ms. (L/N)." We heard the familiar voice of Lucius Malfoy say to us.
"Good Evening, Lucius." Severus greeted.
"Good Evening, Mr. Malfoy." I greeted as well.
"Please, just call me Lucius. I'm not particularly a fan of the whole Mr. concept." Lucius replied.
"Oh, well, you can call me (Y/N) instead of (L/N) if you'd like." I offered while looking at his cane.
The cane was quite nice to be honest.
"Alright then. (Y/N) it is." Lucius gave a smile that made me feel a fraction uncomfortable before turning to lead us to wherever dinner would be held.
I noticed Severus had placed his hand gently on the small of my back while we followed Lucius, which got me thinking. Is Severus jealous? I smiled to myself and decided to return to the thought in a little while.
As soon as we had made it to what looked like an oversized dining room, Severus retracted his hand and placed it at his side. Lucius turned to face us and spoke,
"Narcissa will be joining us shortly. She is with Draco at the moment." Lucius explained.
I'm guessing Narcissa is his wife and Draco his son? Severus did say that he was the godfather of Lucius' son after all.
Lucius gestured at the table and we all walked over.
"Here, let me get that for you." Lucius said as he pulled out a chair for me.
I thanked him awkwardly and sat down. Severus sat across from me and as far as I could tell, that made him a bit jealous. I knew this because he tightened his jaw and furrowed his eyebrows a little, which is what he used to do a lot when we were both in school.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard someones footsteps.
"Narcissa dear, Severus is here, and he brought a guest this time 'round." Lucius said while Narcissa walked into the room.
"A pleasure to meet you (Y/N). Sorry for the delay, I had to put Draco to sleep." She apologized.
"That's quite alright dear. We had only just arrived ourselves." Lucius assured her.
And with that, dinner began. It wasn't all that bad. I had imagined it to be much more awkward than it really was. Sure there were some silences here and there, but Narcissa seemed really kind. Not a single Death Eater related topic had come up either.
"So (Y/N), I heard about your father being sent to Azkaban. I'm sorry about that." Narcissa said, out of the blue.
And... Death Eater talk.. great.
"It's fine. We weren't really all that close to begin with." I partially lied, trying to get away from that topic.
Dinner was basically over when all of a sudden crying could be heard from another room.
"I should go check on Draco." Narcissa said as she got up from her seat.
And just like that Severus, Lucius and I were the last ones at the table.
"We should probably get going. It seems your hands are full with Draco at the moment anyway." Severus said.
The three of us stood up and walked in the direction leading us to the entrance. Once at the front, we said our goodbyes. Lucius turned to me and said,
"It was a pleasure meeting you properly for the first time (Y/N). Have a good rest of your evening."
To my surprise, Lucius took my hand and placed a kiss on top of it. It caught me off guard so much that my face started turning red. Lucius chuckled at this before turning on his heels and walking back into the Manor.
I awkwardly turned towards Severus who was making his jealous face at the moment.
"We should probably go now.." I said sheepishly before grabbing hold of Severus' arm.
The last thing I'd expect to happen after apparating is having someone pull you towards them and start making out with you.. Which is exactly what happened.
I didn't even have a chance to breathe before Severus crashed his lips against mine. After who knows how many seconds, Severus pulled back and smirked with satisfaction before walking past me towards the stairs.
"What was that for?" I chuckled confusedly.
"No idea." Is all Severus said before walking up the stairs, leaving me to process what had just happened.
