I didnt have a clock but i could tell it was still nightime...
Sae-byeok and I were guarding together, she wasnt that talkative but i didnt really try either...
I somehow didnt get tired, i had been guarding for several hours now, about 2 hours with ali, 1.5 hours with grandpa, and 2.5 hours with sae-byeok...
"Y/n" i turned my head.
"What is it?"
"The guards, you know what i mean right?"
I paused, "you have to be more exact"
"..."
"You got them wrapped around your finger, dont you?"
I blinked a few times, glancing over at her.
"So? Am i right?"
"Sae-byeok i-"
But before i could finish the sentence, the light suddendly switched on. I looked up confused and flinched as some weird alarm went off...
It seemed to wake everyone in the room up, all of us were confused at the sudden change or scenerie.
I suddendly saw guards storming in trough the doors.
"All players, please line up immeadiantly in the center" the female voice announced over the speakers.
"Everyone, come out into the center" one of the guards ordered.
The took down our barricade and pointed guns at us.
"Hey move it!"
A bit nervous, i stepped into the center with everyone else.
Four of the square guards walked trough the rows, most likely counting us.
"Geez... what a nice way to start the day..." i sighed.
I suddendly heard the classical music go off as i rested my hands on my hips.
"Attention, the fourth game will begin momentarily"
"All players, follow the staffs instructions and proceed to the game hall"
The guards lead us out of the room, but... what we found in the halls was... quite a scene...
It looked like some kind of... art piece..?

4 guards and one of our fellow players were strapped up and hanging from the ceiling, all slaughtered...
I gulped in horror at the cruel scene...
"Players, you are witnessing the fates of those who broke the rules of this world for their own benefit"
"We promise to prevent such misfortunes from happening again"
"We truly apologize for this tragedy"
I huffed glancing down at the floor before resuming to walk with the others...
We were all lead to an empty, white room that didnt look too different from the one in the third game...
"Players, welcome to the fourth game" the voice echoed trough the area
"For this game you will be playing in teams of two"
"Find slmeone you wish to play the game with"
"With mutual consent, shake hands and you will become partners"
I looked around the room to see if anyone was imterested in teaming with me...
"Please form teams of two within ten minutes"
I walked around a bit, glancing at people and the timer every once in a while.
Most seemed to find a partner rather quickly... but whenever i asked someone they wouldnt agree...
I sighed sitting down against one of the walls.
I looked over to my group, they seemed to already have formed their teams... even the crazy lady convinced someone to team up with her...
For some reason... i wasnt scared about not even trying to team up with anyone... if someone was left over id just play with them.
"The time for finding a partner is now over. All players, please proceed to the game hall immediately"
I quickly stood up, "im sorry, i dont have anyone to team with"
"Idiot, the number of players is uneven, theres no one to team up with for you" i glanced over at one of the players.

I looked at the teams leave a bit confused, i was all alone now...?
My heart started punding a bit harder in my chest as i just stood alone in silence...
I turned around to see two triangle-guards.
"Theres really no one left for me?" I asked hesitantly.
"Im afraid not, you didnt seem to make an effort to team up with anyone either"
I sweatdropped a tiny bit, "i tought id wait to see if anyone was left over... i didnt know the numbers were uneven. Do i have to die now?"
I felt two harsh yanks on my wrists, "certainly not. Theres always an outcast anyway"
'Wow... jerk...'
They started dragging me somewhere, most likely back to the dormitory.
The hung up bodys had luckily been removed already...
I was brought back to our room and set down there.
"So i just stay here now?"
"Exactly"
I sighed looking away for a second.
I looked up at them for a second, i quickly jumped up seeing they were starting to leave.
"Wait!" I clammered onto one of their arms.
Suprinsingly they didnt point their guns at me.
I blushed, realizing how embarrassing this was...
"I dont want to be alone here... can you please stay..?"
Both the guards looked at me, seemingly confused.
I poked the spot on my cheek that the scratch mark was on one of their masks.
"I recognized you" i added.
He looked over at his colleague, "i guess work schedules will have to wait..." he pat my head a bit.
I smiled a bit wrapping my arms around him.
"Tch..."
"You had a history with them already?"
"Uh yeah... they saw my face and all that-"
"Wait what? Wow... im surprised your still alive, do you know what happened on the second game?"
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"One of the staff members got shot because one of the players held him at gunpoint to take his mask off. It was a manager"
"So, as of for you, what do you want to do so badly anyways- huh?"
"Did they just-"
"They are asleep."

A Will Eternal
A Will Eternal is the fourth major xianxia novel by the renowned Er Gen. It tells the tale of Bai Xiaochun, an endearing but exasperating young man who is driven primarily by his fear of death and desire to live forever, but who deeply values friendship and family. The story takes place in the same Universe as Er Gen's other novels, but is a separate story and can be read alone. That said, it does have connections to the other novels, especially I Shall Seal the Heavens. Those connections only pertain to a handful of chapters, so you can read the novel as a whole and enjoy it without first reading ISSTH. However, the best reading experience would begin with the later portions of ISSTH. This novel is much more comedic and light-hearted than Er Gen's previous works, although it has its fair share of action and drama.
