《PROHIBITED! (Young Snape X Reader)》Chapter 2 What Do You See?

"Hi." You said timidly.
"Hi... You're Potter's sister, correct?" Severus asked even though he already knew the answer.
"Yes I am."
"Well if you're planning on messing with me during class just remember my grade is your grade. So if you don't want to fail this class I suggest you just focus on your work." He said very seriously.
"Um. Why would I want to mess with you? I have no ill will towards you Severus. You actually seem really nice." You clarified.
"Yeah sure. Pay attention professor Slughorn's talking." He didn't seem to believe you and you couldn't understand why.
"I know this is the only class where you have a partner so that being said your first assignment is to get to know your potions partner. For some of you that might seem easy since your partner is your friend but some of you have never met your partner. So for your first assignment I want you to take this sheet that is being passed around and fill it out. You need to be able to trust your partner not only with your grades but also with your life. Some of these potions will be very complicated and could go very wrong and cause serious injuries if not done properly. This will be due by the end of the week." Slughorn explained. The sheets were floating around and made their way to each student. Severus looked at you then looked away rather annoyed. You didn't know what his problem was, you didn't even know him. Why was he being so rude?
Slughorn talked a little while longer before he dismissed you for the day. This was the last class of the day so after this you could go explore or do whatever you wanted. Once Slughorn dismissed you, you turned to Severus.
"Would you want to meet up after dinner tonight and get started on the assignment?" You asked as everyone started to file out.
"Sure. But don't bring your brother or any of his friends. If I see them I won't hesitate to make us both start off term with an F in the class." He sighed, picking up his things and leaving you there. You packed up your things and followed him to the door.

"Where do you wanna meet?"
"Meet me outside the castle near the tree by the black lake. Come alone." He stopped before reaching the door. He looked so serious, then he turned and walked out the door. James, Sirius and the others were waiting for you outside the classroom. You saw the look they gave Severus and the look he gave them. You didn't like it, you couldn't figure out why.
"Bad luck aye Munchkin." Sirius shook his head the second you walked over to them.
"What do you mean?"
"Getting paired with Snivellous." James added.
"Snivellous?"
"That's what we call him. Anyway, come on, we'll show you around a bit." Your brother added. You all went to your dorms to change and put your books away then you left to go walk the grounds. You saw Severus sitting by a tree with his nose in a book. He was... Handsome. His jet black hair looked soft and smooth. His hooked nose fit his face perfectly and his body was exactly what you preferred. He wasn't freakishly built but he wasn't a twig either. You were willing to bet there was a good amount of muscle under all those clothes. You had spent so much time daydreaming about him you didn't realize Remus had been talking to you.
"I'm sorry Remus I didn't catch that." You confessed.
"I said, how was your first day?" He repeated.
"It was good. I like it here."
"That's good."
"Hey guys." Lily chirped as she walked over.
"Hi liles." Your brother greeted her. He was such a simp.
"You must be Y/N, I'm lily." She held her hand out for you and you shook it.
"Nice to meet you." You smiled. You weren't sure how you felt about her.
"So what are you guys doing?" She asked James.
"Just showing Y/N around. Do you wanna join?"
"Sure."
"So why did you guys tell me to stay away from Severus?" You asked after glancing back at the tree and noticing he was gone.
"He's bad news Y/N." Remus repeated basically the same thing they had told you yesterday.
"He's into dark magic. The dark arts are what he fancies. I wouldn't trust him, I made that mistake." Lily butted in.

"What did he do that was so bad?" You raised an eyebrow.
"He called me a mudblood. For no reason, and I used to be his friend. I was his best friend actually. If he's willing to insult me like that, imagine how he treats everyone else?" She explained as she walked beside you.
"For no reason?" You questioned not quite believing it.
"Yes, for no reason at all." She reiterated.
"Alright. Well I have to spend time with him, he's my potions partner."
"Just don't be with him alone." James told you rather firmly.
"Don't worry I won't" You lied.
"We should start getting back. The great hall will be serving dinner in a little bit and we don't wanna miss it. We all know how James and Sirius get when they're hungry." Peter chuckled.
"Hey!" James and Sirius shouted in unison.
"He's right we don't wanna miss dinner." Remus laughed.
"You guys so ahead I'll catch up." You called as they started towards the great hall. You had no intention of meeting up with them. You couldn't bring yourself to eat in front of that many people. You decided to explore the inside of the castle while everyone was at dinner. This way you didn't have to worry about running into anyone and having any unwanted conversations.
While you were exploring you heard someone walking up ahead. It was still the beginning of dinner so you had no idea who could possibly be wandering the halls. You decided to follow the sound and you were taken to a room. At the end of the room you saw a mirror and sitting on the floor in front of the mirror you saw Severus. He was just staring at it, his knees to his chest, his elbows resting on his knees. He seemed to be deep in thought, he hadn't even noticed you yet. You found it odd that he was sitting there looking into a mirror, you had mirrors in your dorms. Why come all the way up here to look at a bigger mirror?
"Severus? Is everything alright?" You called out to him. He turned to look at you. He was startled by your presence and flinched backwards.
"I'm sorry Severus. I didn't mean to startle you."
"What are you doing here?" He spat as he rose to his feet.
"I was exploring the castle... I don't really know my way around yet. I heard someone in here and just wanted to know what was here. I'm sorry I scared you. I really didn't mean to." You were sincere and he could tell.
"Would you.. Would you tell me why this mirror is so special? I mean we have mirrors in our dorms. I don't know why you would be skipping dinner to look in a slightly bigger mirror." You questioned.
"Come here." He moved out of view of the mirror. "Stand where I was and tell me what you see." He stood beside you but far enough away that his reflection couldn't be seen in the mirror. You silently obeyed, standing in front of the mirror.
"Okay." You said hesitantly.
"What do you see?"
"I see me.. I just look a little different. Is this one of those trick mirrors like they have at muggle carnivals? I've heard about the carnivals and fairs they have in the muggle world.. I've always wanted to go, it sounds like so much fun." You confessed. It saddened you. Muggles seemed to have so much fun, you longed to be able to be so carefree.
"No it's not a trick mirror. This is called the mirror of Erised. It shows us our deepest desires. Curious that you only see yourself." Severus tried to coax the truth out of you. But that was the truth you saw yourself. Only you were a little thinner and a little taller. Everything you were insecure about had managed to fix itself as you stared in the mirror.
"It's just me.. Why what do you see?" You asked, stepping out of the reflection and closer to Snape.
"We should go. This room is off limits, if the prefects find us we'll be serving detention together as well. Meet me where we discussed after dinner. Remember we meet alone." With that he left you there alone, completely avoiding your question

So far, life had done Nuriel Cunningham no favors. Dark Lands: The Exile and the Prince
A short time has passed since the siege on Ruined Home has been lifted and as the survivors of the battered encampment slowly begin to rebuild their new home, Aurelius has returned from a failed troll hunt. Yet despite the battered prince’s failures, he has set into motion a series of events that will forever change his life. Meanwhile, Iskra has found herself at the helm of a far more favorable position and begins to forge a path that will lead her towards the first steps of a long road of revenge. Author’s Note: This is the direct sequel to the first Dark Lands story and as time goes on I will update the synopsis to help bring further detail about the story. For now however, I hope you all enjoy what is about to be written. Eight Years Arc: Eight Years have passed since Aurelius and Iskra have first met one another, and a lot has changed since then. The vast majority of Aurelius’ family has been slaughtered by the hands of none other than his oldest brother, a man that the golden haired prince had spent the past several years to hunt down and kill all in the name of vengeance. Upon his return, the kin-slaying prince has found that some things have changed during his absence. Iskra, his first wife and love of his life, has proclaimed that she no longer cares about the events that have been unfolding in her former homeland for the last several years and states that she is solely focused on raising her children. Yet it is through learning that the High Elves have taken a keen interest in the once magically-absent lands of Ranislava that Aurelius decides that action must be taken and thus he journeys south to learn more about what his distant kin are up to in such a backwater region of the world. Who he will meet and what he will do will turn the tides of fate, but in whose favor is something that only the Gods will know. (The Eight Years arc is something that was designed to be written in a way where people don't have to feel the need to go back to the very beginning of the Dark Lands story in order to know what is going on or who the characters are.)
