《The Half Lord {Severus Snape x Reader}》N.E.W.Ts and the chase

You woke up the next day with a blanket on top of you. Remembering the events of the night before, you scowled and tossed the blanket off of your form.
Before leaving to go take your N.E.W.Ts, you changed into clean robes and put on your boots.
Another day, another test to ace!
With a spring in your step, you made your way back to Hogwarts in time for breakfast.
Sitting next to Bosco at the front of the table, just to see if Snape was annoyed, you grabbed a piece of toast and started to spread butter on it.
"Morning!" You exclaimed with a grin on your face.
"Someone is cheerful today." Asher remarked from across the table.
"We didn't see you after dinner last night, what happened?" Bosco asked.
"Oh, no worries, I stayed at my house last night, checking in on a couple of things."
"Alright then."
You quickly finished breakfast and left to go take your N.E.W.Ts in the library.
Once you arrived, you sat down at an empty section of a table and Dumbledore wished everyone luck before the tests appeared and you started answering the questions.
~an hour and a half later~
Finishing your last exam, you turned them in. The Professor told you that you could do whatever until the day was over since the rest of the time for your group was for test taking.
You strolled outside and sat on the nearest bench with a sigh.
Will there ever be a day I learn something I don't already know...?
Similar thoughts went through your mind until they were interrupted by Snapes voice.
"Finished already Miss (l/n)?"
"Yes, sir, I came out here to have some time to myself until lunch."
"Meet me in my office after classes are over. It is not a question, it's an order." He turned and left.
Odd... I don't think I've done anything wrong...
After several hours had passed, all the classes had been taught for the day and everyone was leaving, give or take the Professors and Dumbledore.
You walked down the stairs to the dungeons quietly and knocked on the potions room door.
"In. Now." You heard Snape hiss from inside.
Quickly, you entered and shut the door. "You wanted to see me, sir?"

Cautiously walking towards the front of the room, he stopped you.
"Since you clearly outsmart the other students, I want to see if you know something that older students are learning." He paused. "Do you know how to summon a patronus?" He asked.
Hesitating, you answered "I do, you think of your happiest memory and use the spell expecto petronum, correct?"
"Yes, now, do you mind demonstrating for me since you feel you are experienced enough?"
Pulling out your wand, you gulped, you'd tried many times at home with no success, how were you going to conjure one now?
Without thinking, you waved your wand in the air "Expecto Petronum!" When nothing happened, the potions master sauntered over to you.
"Can't do everything, now can you, (l/n)?"
"Was this all you wanted to do? Prove a point!!" You snapped, he was wasting your valuable time just to try and make a fool of you!
"Maybe, maybe not." He taunted.
"You'll see, I'll be able to summon my patronus some day!"
With that, you stashed your wand, glared at the Professor, hurt inside, and dashed out of the room and kept on running until you reached your house.
Hobbling inside, panting, you fell to your knees and hit the dark, old, hardwood flooring with your fist.
"I CAN DO IT!! I JUST NEED A HAPPY MEMORY!!!!!"
Tears started forming in your eyes and you let them fall down your cheeks.
"T-the one thing I-I can't do!" Sniffling, you gave in and layed down on the floor, it was somewhat comforting to you, making you stop stuttering.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you sigh and roll on the floor until you reach the blanket you threw earlier. You grabbed it and threw it over you as you sobbed.
"I'll be able to do it someday, I just need a really happy memory....."
Those were the last words you uttered before you fell into a deep sleep.
~In dream~
There were dementors everywhere.
They surrounded your house as you tried to find a way out, knowing that there wasn't anyone to save you this time. Your friends were still at Hogwarts and they couldn't cast a patronus yet.
Pulling out your wand, you tried and tried to cast the spell to summon your patronus, but the dementors were slowly entering your house and surrounding you, sapping any kind of happiness you had.

Then, the scene changed.
You were back in Professor Snapes office, just like earlier, about to attempt to cast your patronus.
"Expecto Petronum!" From your wand, you couldn't tell what animal it was, it was a small blur of light that flew around the room before disappearing.
The potions master looked at you, in somewhat shock, and impressed. "So you finally did it, took you long enough." Returning to his work, the scene changed once again.
This time, you were fishing in the lake by your house like you used to when you were younger.
The sandy haired man that always accompanied you was there, you had never learned his name, but he was always encouraging you to do your best.
He was currently holding his fishing rod out towards the water, watching his bobber float on the surface.
"(F/n)?" He asked.
"Yes?"
"You're always here fishing, I was wondering if your parents ever wondered where you were."
"It's no problem, they are always out of town, and I haven't got anything else to do." You replied.
You felt a tug on your fishing pole and started to reel in the fish on the hook. Once it rose from the water, the man helped you unhook it.
"Great job, (f/n)! You caught a good sized fish, good enough to eat, even!" He handed it to you and you put it in the cooler you always brought.
"Say, I don't know what to call you, I've known you all this time and I never learned your name."
"Call me... Moony."
"That's a great name, Moony."
~Dream end~
Waking up, you stood from the floor and stretched, sighing at the stickiness of dried tears on your cheeks.
The dreams you had finally given you a happy memory, the man by the lake named Moony. You frowned, remembering how he just dissapeared without a word.
An owl flew in from your window and dropped a letter on the coffee table. You opened it- it was from Dumbledore.
Dear, (f/n) (l/n),
I am happy to inform you that you passed your N.E.W.Ts!
You will be graduating this year alongside our Hogwarts seventh years.
The rest of the year you may continue to attend classes as you wish or you can do whatever you desire until the end of the year approaches.
I hope you have a great day.
Signed, Albus Dumbledore
You jumped around and cheered. You passed! You couldn't believe it, but it was all in one short letter.
Not knowing what to do, you decided to walk around Hogsmede and celebrate with yourself.
Quickly grabbing your coat and boots, you ran outside and got to the town as fast as you could, seeing Snape leave his house.
You walked on the opposite side of the street in silence, hoping he wouldn't notice you, but alas, he did.
Stopping for him to catch up, you straighted your coat.
"Miss (l/n), I heard about your success in passing your N.E.W.Ts."
"Yes, sir. And I'm sure that I can summon my patronus now!"
"Alright then, let's see it, I haven't got all day."
Readying your wand, you waved it in the air like last time and remembered Moony and the time you two spent together fishing by the lake. "Expecto Petronum!"
The same light from your dream came out of your wand in the form of a raven. It flew around you and the Professor a couple of times before vanishing.
"I did it!" You exclaimed as you did a small victory dance.
"Interesting, now, I'll be going before I'm late." The potions master turned and left without another word.
Continuing your walk, you noticed it was quieter then usual and you noticed a couple of people that were familiar, but you couldn't lay a finger on who they might've been.
That's when there was trouble. You noticed that one of the men started to follow you, although you quickened your pace, four more joined him and you took off without hesitation.
You recognized these guys from your studies, they were the councils henchmen, and they were clearly here to take you back.
You darted into an alley way and climbed the fire escape ladder within a second, but the henchman didn't even break a sweat as they followed.
Jumping from roof to roof, you were running out of breath until you ran into a dead end.
The men, only two buildings away, were quickly approaching.
You decided to do the only thing you could.
You walked to the opposite end of the building and ran at the dead end.
At the edge of the building, you jumped.
