《When The Heart Lies | ✓》[70] Consequences

Her fate was written in a hurry, she thought.
The Aunt and Uncle were standing there in the room who had loved her like there's no tomorrow. Like she was their own daughter. The worry was written clearly on their face at seeing the two men glaring at each other.
In between she caught that mighty brother of hers, observing the tears in her eyes. His jaws clenched and eyes softened at her.
Sakshi's lips parted as she studied his gaze keenly. He was saying so much by not saying anything.
"How dark I have been?" Kabir repeated the question for himself mockingly.
Shrey's lips straightened when Kabir said, Not as dark as the marks of beatings on your skin. He taunted, "I heard the women had hit you with their slippers. Tell me, was the rape truly falsely blamed? Or did you truly rape a married woman?"
A hard punch was thrown right at his face, Shrey growled hard. He kicked Kabir in the knee, making him bend. His specs fell away while Mihir came in between immediately. Shrey gave Mihir a hard push.
"I don't have to fucking prove you if it true or false!" Shrey shouted angrily, his face red. "For a crime I didn't do, I suffered punishment. Karma is crazy. You have done the crime, imagine what will happen to you!"
Kabir pushed Shrey hard in anger while slapping him on the face. Sakshi screamed while Shrey immediately grabbed his neck, ready to strangely him.
Aarush widened his eyes, immediately reaching for Shrey's elbows. Him and Nakul pulled him hard while Shrey kept on sneering.
"I will fucking kill you. Tell them how you promised her to be a dominating husband. Because that's what you can actually think. A cheap hag!" He growled while writhing in Nakul and Aarush's hold. "I will kill you, you moron!"
"Enough!" Raghav glared at Kabir. "This is the last chance I am giving you. Tell me the truth like a man. Whatever you are hiding! Because if I heard the truth from my sister, I will kill you in front of her."
"Done with your threats," Kabir mocked Raghav, making everyone gasp. "As if you never took pictures of your Pihu."
"Don't," Raghav warned with his eyes narrowing like a hawk.
Sakshi stepped back in sudden nervousness as Kabir stood face to face with Raghav and explained, "Just like I said, a nerdy boy with no experience, how would I have wooed your sister. All my tricks were working opposite. She started hating me. But then, a frustrated lover like me, caught this offer from her friend, Aditi. Actually, it all started when Aditi ended up kissing Mihir."
Sakshi widened her eyes and felt ashamed to have this discussed in front of her family. Her head was close to bursting. It took all of her courage to get here and face her brother.
"She likes Mihir. Knowing the pain I was suffering, my brother asked her if she could help me in wooing her friend. Otherwise, he will tell Aarush and Sakshi about the kiss. As Aarush was her boyfriend at that time."
Pihu covered her mouth while Aarush was dumbstruck, looking at a nervous Mihir.
Kabir chuckled tauntingly.
"Aditi offered to not just give us ideas about wooing here but she told us how Shrey was spending nights at Sakshi's flat. She couldn't guarantee if I could win Sakshi's heart because she was already taken. An angry lover like me ended up blackmailing her. She was so scared, she offered me about clicking her nudes and sending them to me."

Sakshi's mouth parted in utter heartbreak. Ants were eating up her ears and face, she felt like dying. Her eyes filled up with fresh tears.
Kabir looked at Raghav with utter seriousness. "I was shocked at first. But slowly, the offer soaked in my mind. Tell me, Raghav. You never lusted for the girl you love?"
Mrs. Bhatia interrupted, "Rumours were all around the city. He had kidnapped Pihu! Who knows what he did to her? Her family had suddenly agreed to marry her!"
"How dare you!" Mrs. Rathore stood up angrily. "Not a single word against my daughter-in-law."
Kabir flared his nostrils angrily at Raghav. "You blackmailed Pihu too. You took her pics too. Everyone knows it."
Pihu's face reddened with utter embarrassment while her eyes filled up at thinking how they were all playing with her husband's anger. They didn't know what was coming for them.
"You were a jock and you couldn't control. You were so keen on being close to her, you married her the moment you got the chance. Half the reason is basically the lust. There is no shame. You get attracted to the person you are in love with, crazily. It's a fact."
Kabir smiled confidently as he glanced at Sakshi.
"Aditi never showed me the face. She played safe for Sakshi. Tell me, how much I was even getting. Eleven minutes of pleasure a night. Not as great as you who got to kidnap your girl, impress her father so crazily with your money, you marry her. It was an advantage, she is innocent than Sakshi, your wife-"
Kabir didn't get to say more as he felt a sudden blow at his cheek bone. Raghav grabbed his collar and threw another punch on his face.
"Fucking talk about her again!" Raghav shouted angrily, red visible in his eyes. "And I'll kill you!"
Mihir immediately came in between, trying to get his cousin lose while on the other side, Kabir's father tried to push Raghav away.
"I am calling the police. Leave my son, now!"
Raghav glared at the man who had a thick accent.
"Call the police! Convenient for us all! He took my sister's photos and claim to love her. How fucking cheap!"
Kabir clenched his jaws while wiping his nose that was bleeding. He gasped in pain and pointed at Sakshi.
"She'd like it once you get rid of this Shrey. He can't keep his dick to himself. Had been spending each night with her."
Uday Singh felt his stomach churning at the thought when all of a sudden, the sound of a slap echoed all around.
Kabir widened his eyes as he stared at the floor in shock. He raised his head to look back at Sakshi in disbelief who was now standing in between him and her brother. Raghav stepped back in shock.
"If you can't win my heart anymore, don't lose your own." She screamed at him, her eyes filled with tears.
"If only I could see the guilt in your eyes for what you did, I could even think about a life with you," she confessed truthfully. "I respected you as a teacher. Hated you when you turned into a stalker."
"I tried to forgive you, tried to forget that you were even disturbing me. But you wouldn't listen. At one point, I even thought that maybe you were written for me," she said, sobbingly. "But my God won't write a creep like you in my fate."
"We have the proofs of how you blackmailed Aditi. You would scare her about not giving marks. On top of that, Mihir was playing with her heart." Sakshi explained while glancing at Aarush.

Kabir widened his eyes while Mihir shook his head nervously.
Raghav was listening carefully when Shrey entered the scene. "We called their teacher Miss. Khanna. Kabir had mocked Aarush how he was having fun with his favourite teacher too all this time. I was actually thinking that this guy was faking it. But it turned out to be disgustingly true."
Shrey smirked when he saw Kabir's face paling.
"He did not just took Sakshi's photo. He slept with Miss Khanna, played with her heart until he got this belief that he could blackmail Sakshi with our pic. It was Kabir who sent our pic to you," he told Raghav who was looking blankly at Kabir.
"What did you think?" Sakshi smiled tauntingly at Kabir. "I would be heartbroken and end up giving myself to you. You managed to mess up our minds for once, made Shrey doubt me. But you didn't know what was coming for you."
She clicked her fingers in front of his face. "Miss Khanna has taken the complain to the Principal as soon as she got to know what you were doing with my life," she said while smirking through tears.
"The Vice-Chancellor will be waiting for you in his office to give you the termination letter. Don't forget to greet the police who will be standing outside, ready to take you directly to the remand room after the proceedings and Miss Khanna's family who are keen on making you their groom."
"I wonder why her family is desperate all of a sudden to make your their groom. Did you make her pregnant already?" Sakshi said through gritted teeth while looking fearlessly in Kabir's eyes that seemed fearful.
Shrey chuckled tauntingly. "Run to Kerala. Run to abroad. You ain't getting free from what's waiting for you, Kabir Nair."
"No," his mother spoke up with tears in her eyes. "Please, let him go." She sobbed while joining her hand at Sakshi. "Please."
Kabir's eyes turned glossy in disbelief.
Mihir was scared to death when Raghav shook his head at her.
"We aren't doing anything," said Raghav. "He did it to himself. For he is not taught that the woman he loves, needs to be respected. You don't taunt others with their mistakes. You learn from their mistakes."
He sneered hard at Kabir as he explained, "I didn't harass my wife ever. I believed in my character and didn't marry her until her father was accepting me whole-heartedly. Love is not just a game of just wooing or scaring. You make way for future."
"You ruined your way to future, the moment you decided that she couldn't love you but only Shrey." Raghav told Kabir. "If only you had believed in your love, and come to me. Told me your true thought. I would have been there helping you win my sister's heart like a decent man."
"I didn't just marry my wife. I apologized to her for my deeds. I redeemed myself by showing her how much I respected her and her family. Today, she is standing back there healthy and happy in my home, because I was never a characterless creep. But you are. . ." Raghav clenched his jaws and held Kabir's chin so tight, glaring at him.
"If I want, I could just strangle you." He growled.
Mihir removed Raghav's hand when Sakshi grabbed his elbow and pleased him, "Please, Bhai."
Uday Singh looked at Kabir's parents and requested with joined hands, "I can understand Kabir's pain. We all do. But playing with my daughter's life is not what impresses me. Kabir needs to have a talk to himself. You both seem educated and nice to me," he told his parents. "Kabir hasn't become a professor with his creepy way. Did he?"
Kabir lowered his eyes hearing his mother's loud sobs.
"He studied and worked hard. That made him a professor. Sakshi has filed her complaint and so the other professor. It's upon Kabir to redeem himself and have no hard feelings towards us. We break this issue right here. We end it."
"He will lose the job," Kabir's father spoke up. "He didn't mean to hurt Sakshi. He loved her."
"This is not love. That was sickness," said Shrey while glaring at them.
Mrs. Rathore reached her husband and looked sadly at Kabir. "You let me down, dear. It was in your hands to win Sakshi and now, you lost her."
Raghav glared at the man and sighed heavily. "Apologize to my sister and fucking get lost. Don't forget to welcome the police when they arrive at your home for proceedings."
Kabir's face shook in guilt as he gulped hard.
Nakul walked towards them while smiling pitifully. "Sakshi has a rich background, Miss Khanna has not. But that doesn't mean you get to choose the victims now," he scared Kabir who was clenching his jaws frequently, nervousness clear on his face.
"You are the victim now, Sir." Aarush smirked while standing beside Nakul.
"Apologise," growled Raghav while Kabir slowly raised his gaze only to get attacked by Sakshi's victorious smile.
"I feel sorry for you. The person who has suffered a big loss, has a brutal past doesn't make other's life difficult. He gets humble. I hope, you end up showing deep guilt to Miss Khanna whose trust you break deeply. I hope, you remember my dark eyes whenever you think of lusting for another girl," said Sakshi boldly, raising Goosebumps on Pihu's arms.
Raghav felt his chest swelling when Sakshi said, "I am not feeling victorious to see you here ashamed of yourself. I pity you, feel bad for your parents who believed in you. I wish, you redeem yourself by saying the truth, suffering the punishment and taking care of the case with Miss Khanna like a man."
Kabir's eyes turned glossy and bloodshot when his mother breathed harshly. He looked in Sakshi's eyes and felt his heart crumbling.
"I am sorry."
Shrey smirked while Sakshi felt her smile falling. She never wanted to go through these scenarios. She wasn't enjoying. But she wouldn't deny that she was relieved.
"We are sorry for what happened, dear." Kabir's father said to Sakshi. "We didn't know how all of this happened."
Raghav huffed angrily and looked at the parents with narrowed eyes. "Get him to Delhi. We will be there too. He is losing his job for real. But I will make sure, that female professor gets the justice or I will break every bone of your son."
Nakul smiled tauntingly while informing Mrs. Bhatia who was glaring at Raghav's mother with a fallen face. "And Auntie, the police has reached your home. The statement will get assigned by your son to for helping in this cyber crime. Mihir too getting the lesson of his life. Mihir?" He wiggled his eyebrows.
Aarush wanted to laugh but refrained as Raghav gave all of them a serious look. He glared at Kabir.
"Don't even think of running away. There are laws for consensual sex on a promise to marry," said Raghav while glaring at him and his parents. "You and your family will be doomed. Now, get lost!"
Sakshi breathed heavily while as Kabir gave her a last look filled with guilt and pain. His nose was bleeding and cheek was bruised. Tears left her eyes as she watched the people leaving her home.
Nakul and Aarush went out with Shrey to make sure that the family had left.
She felt her breath hitching when her Tau ji called out her name. She let out a loud sob while hugging him as he wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay. It is over now. The photos are taken care of. The police knows and the issue ends here. He will be punished."
Raghav's mother bit her lip while standing near them waiting for Sakshi to pull away from her hug. Uday Singh nodded at his wife sternly when Sakshi turned around only to see Kavita Singh Rathore's lips trembling.
"I am sorry."
Sakshi bit her lip as the woman cried hard, "I had a good intention but I was so stubborn. I didn't saw the danger-" she sobbed hard, making Raghav let out a long breathe in relief.
"I forgive you," said Sakshi while giving her a sad smile, hugging her immediately.
Raghav glanced back at Pihu who was walking towards them slowly. They exchanged a smile of relief.
"Will you forgive me?"
Raghav looked back at Sakshi who was now staring at him hopefully.
"I know, I have betrayed you. I have let you down. I have made you see the days, no brother would wish for. I am sorry," she sobbed. "I am sorry, Bhai."
Raghav smiled sadly while pulling her in his chest, patting her head. "It's okay. I always knew, you had hots for that Malhotra idiot!"
Uday Singh chuckled along with Pihu while she wiped tears from the corner of her eyes. Kavita smiled when Nakul and Aarush returned, with Shrey following them hopefully.
"That was a lot to digest," said Aarush. "I hope, he hasn't checked our papers," he joked.
Nakul patted his shoulder while Shrey looked hopefully at Raghav who was still rubbing his sister's back, trying to calm her sobs.
"Did Miss Khanna?" Pihu gulped while looking at Nakul. "Is it all true?"
Nakul looked at Shrey who breathed harshly and nodded at Pihu. It was awkward seeing her after so many years. She was as beautiful as she was years ago. Shrey was fearful as Raghav's ears had perked, knowing his wife was talking to a Malhotra.
"It's all true." Shrey said, "When Aarush told me how Kabir had mocked him about it. We decided to anyhow ask Miss Khanna about it. Turned out, she was helpless and planning to leave her job. We encouraged her by telling everything about what happened with Sakshi. Now, she's high on getting him terminated or rather have Kabir marry her. She loves him."
Aarush zigzagged his jaw, making Sakshi smile sadly who had turned around and was now looking at him.
"I didn't know she had such a bad taste." Aarush muttered, making everyone laugh.
Pihu wiped her tired eyes and felt her heart getting calmed as she realized that from now on, there won't be any conflicts.
She had said that too soon.
Because all of a sudden, a loud thud echoed around the room. She immediately looked up and gasped along with others as she saw blood leaking from Shrey's nose.
Raghav stared at him with his mind slowly getting sorted. This guy loved his sister. She loved him too. But he wouldn't let him the get the satisfaction that he was the ultimate hero.
"This is for taking her away and blackmailing me," Raghav said through gritted teeth while relaxing the pressure on his jaws.
Nakul swallowed his cheek while Aarush gaped at Raghav in shock.
Pihu had covered her mouth in utter hurt while her in-laws were as blank as Shrey.
Shrey winced and groaned hard as he felt his head circling. He covered his nose and nodded at Raghav. "Okay. I am sorry. But it was all for the sake of saving her from that douche."
Raghav felt relief settling in his chest as he saw the blood oozing out from his nose. He turned around to leave for his room, not before saying.
"Help our guest."
Pihu shook her head at Raghav who was only smiling at her slowly. They could now both take care of Rian. Planning about Shrey would bring his parents for further discussions about marriage would be done later. He needed rest. Everyone needed rest.
"Bhai, wait!"
Shrey looked at Sakshi in confusion who was not meeting his eyes. He watched as Raghav turned around in confusion. Even his parents were leaving and they had stopped. Pihu was taking first-aid box from a drawer but she too had stopped.
A sudden uncertainty filled in his chest when he looked back at the love of his life. Her dark eyes were so confident with a firm decision wavering in them. If his head was circling before, he was all awake now. The blood in his nose was forgotten as the blood in his veins had turned cold.
When everything seemed right to him, something was wrong with her.
