Staring at the screen, he couldn't control the mischievous smile on his face.
"Sakshi Singh Rathore."
The name rolled off his tongue smoothly while he clicked on the bio. His eyes squinting as the brightness from the screen was the only source of light in his room. The box dropped to reveal a lot more about the girl he couldn't put off his mind.
"Age-Twenty two. The only daughter of Ajay Singh Rathore. Wait what?"
Biting his lip, he narrowed his eyes. "What about Uday Singh? Isn't she Raghav's real sister?" Talking to no one in particular, he thought hard.
He needed to get cleared about it soon. Maybe, she was adopted. Sucking in a breathe, he scrolled down the list.
"Masters in Business Administration? Very well. Shouldn't be surprise when she's a CEO's sister." Nodding to himself, he further read only to get shocked at seeing the name of the University.
"Bloody Hell. In Delhi? So close all along. Why didn't I know this before?" His heart thumped in excitement, knowing that how God was being so helpful. It would be so easy to see her, meet her and know her. "You sly player," muttering to God, he ran his fingers through his dark hair.
"Dancing. Reading. Internships. Damn. In the big companies. Not surprised, again." Shaking his head in restlessness, he clicked the picture that awaited his attention.
Radiant skin, eyes dark- filled with biggest of dreams and smile, as bright as her future.
Her future, which meant him. His stomach churned at the thought.
"I like the sound of that."
Leaning back and observing the depth of happiness in those eyes lit his own world when a bright future formed in his mind. A sensation crossed his skin at the thought that she would be involved in it. His eyes didn't waver off that pretty face and so his wishes.
"Soon, Sakshi. Very soon."
________
Rubbing her head, Aditi groaned loudly. "Why didn't you stop me from getting tipsy? I am going to the flat, Sakshi. Give me the keys."
Watching red rays covering her eyes, Sakshi nodded in concern. Picking out the keys from her bag, she handed her. "You better take some tablet, alright. Don't lock the door. I will be returning in two hours and you never wake up so easily."
Shrugging her shoulders, Aditi waved a good bye at both the friends and walked away. But her mention of hangover had reminded Sakshi of the last night again. Actually, the highlight of the night.
Only she knew how she had spent whole night turning and tossing while thinking about him. Staring at the ceiling but watching herself laughing with him on the roads of Chandigarh, leaving school and waiting for him to receive her on his bike, lying to her guardians for him, even loosing her friends because of him. It had all played in her mind.
Because he was still there in her heart.
She couldn't deny the wild flutter that had vibrated her chest when he had blinked in surprise. Four years had passed and he had turned from a dork to a man. That matured look had been enhanced with those now well-defined jaws. He must have lined up girls begging for him in these past years and even now, he must be having someone to play with.
The mere conclusion had numbed her eyes and she wasn't able to control the horrible pain that erupted in her chest. If it hadn't been Aarush arriving on the time to grab the watch from his hand and showing the gratitude, she would have stayed frozen there with going through that heartbreak again.

It was shameful that he still affected her like he did years ago. But she needed to understand that she was a school girl then. Now, she had just one year left to have a Masters degree in her pocket. She could be successful in her career one day and eventually had realised it when she noticed his attire.
He himself had wore a formal attire. That dashing black suit was revealing his profession and she could guess that he might have gotten the hereditary post in Malhotra Enterprises.
But then, the day had risen again and so was her spirits. She couldn't just waste a night over thinking about him again. He looked fine, a bit drunk but fine. He really was. Sadly, without her.
Before she could sigh deeply in self-pitying, a loud voice pulled her back, "What do you mean by two hours? Aren't you coming with me to the court?"
Aarush's stern gaze irritated Sakshi to the core. Clutching the strap of her bag, she started walking towards the class room. "No way. I am done with going to the parties for her and doing favours for you. My legs are still aching from last night's wild dance."
Aarush stomped his foot in annoyance. "Hey! Please. I need to get this lawyer today. He's one of the alumni who are to deliver the seminars this week."
Amusement flickered in her eyes as she laughed. "Oh! baby Aarush will get scolding otherwise? Miss Khanna needs a slight impression. Doesn't she?" Straightening her expressions, she shrugged her shoulders. "You convinced me yesterday. But not today. I am not going. I am damn tired and need to finish with these two lectures-"
"Please-"
"Nope."
"Don't be the busy bee, Bitsy."
"Stop dreaming, Dreamer."
An arm covered her shoulder. "I will treat you a chocolate cake. Please-"
"I said no."
Silence followed during their walk towards the class. Sitting with an amused smile, Sakshi stared at an upset Aarush who was glaring at her. "It's not like, you are my only friend. I have people to return my favours. So many who owe me."
She couldn't really understand if he was genuine about doing his task assigned or wanted to really impress Miss Khanna. His love couldn't be so real. Could it be? Because if by any chance it was, she won't be able to see him getting pushed away or worst-getting thrown out of the University.
Shaking her head, she muttered, "Whatever."
Suddenly, the whole class silenced. Faint footsteps echoed in the big staircase classroom and Sakshi gulped. All eyes were on the man in the front.
That sexy Geek
A faint sensation ripped through her spine at remembering how he had talked to her in the morning yesterday. Maybe, not a talk. But at least two words. That was enough for her to have a good day. Too bad, life was cruel at disappointing her.
"Good morning, everyone."
Some of the students while the girls kept gazing at him like hawk. Sakshi cleared her throat, trying to make it quiet as possible. The feeling of having a hot teacher like him was something to craze over. Even when she had behaved all these years single like a saint, she couldn't control her hormones when things would get turn from cute to sexy.
Yes, he had those sexiest arms. Muscular and big, close to ripping his shirt and those specs contrasting to his pinkish skin seemed to highlight his eyes. Only if she was able to see the color. He wasn't that close.

"He is the new professor. Isn't he?" A girl behind them whispered while the man stood confidently, his eyes lingering all over everyone.
Sakshi's gaze roamed from that white shirt down to the black pants and those polished boots. His chest so broad and aura radiated the knowledge he held so confidently.
"Kabir Nair," his eyes moving at every face, "Your newest professor. I will be teaching you Organisational Behaviour this semester."
Girls surrounding her sighed deeply while Sakshi herself couldn't control holding her breaths anymore. His voice was so intense and seductive. Yet he held such strictness in his tone. There was some element of easiness in his body language but his face held authority. His plump lips were so cute that Sakshi had the urge to see them from close.
"We have an interesting subject to deal with. But it can only be interesting if your senses hold the interest for your ambitions. Interacting with people is a definition of your nature. To run an organization, more clearly-leading it," his eyes now about to reach Sakshi's face. She held her breath when they finally met her eyes, "You need to approach the study of behaviours scientifically."
His eyes hadn't move off hers and Sakshi gulped. "We will be learning about building better relationship, covering a wide array of human resources. This will lead us to get motivated, highly efficient and bringing," he looked away and stepped back while joining his hands making his muscles flex which didn't go unnoticed by any of the girls. "Most importantly, Coordination."
A pen was tapped on her knuckles and her lips twitched in pain. "Ouch," she hissed at her best friend who was looking at her with wide eyes.
"You are gawking at him."
She widened her eyes and opened her mouth to reply but the man started his lecture. She couldn't afford making a bad impression.
"Stop talking and concentrate."
"Stop drooling."
She breathed out ignoring him and kept listening to the lecture while observing the professor from head to toe. The way his eyebrows raised when the topper of the class asked a question, the way he gestured with his hands while explaining the theories deeply. It was just an insight on the subject and he had pulled her into as if was telling a story.
These theoretical subjects would always bore her to sleep but she could never get bore of such hotness. Her eyes were pleased. For once, her stomach churned at her own stupid thoughts, betraying her personality she had formed in these years. But no one could resist that masterpiece of God.
The lecture was about to end in five minutes while Aarush elbowed her lightly. "Chocolate cake-"
"Aarush, I will be directly going to my flat. Get over it." Her whispers came out a bit loud and she bit her lip. Thankfully, no one looked at her but Aarush still had bugs crawling his ass, Sakshi was so irritated.
He punched her thigh making her jump slightly. The pen from her hand fell down to God-knows-where making the hell of noise and she could now very well feel her face heating up from some pairs of eyes.
Just as she looked back at the man, her breath hitched. His eyes were narrowed and the so-obvious irritated look had almost drained her pale. Those dark eyebrows of his narrowed more and Sakshi could swear, she saw his fists clenching.
It angered him that much?
She gave him a tight-lipped apologetic smile and lowered her gaze until minutes later, he continued his speech. But her cheeks had still not left the color that she had gained from his attention.
Just as the lecture got over, Sakshi pushed on Aarush's chest and got up with a grunt. Students started leaving the classroom while the professor already had but Sakshi could still feel his voice echoing in her mind.
"Bitsy, what the hell! Don't be so mean."
That almost girly groan squeezed the heart in her and she sighed. Turning around to stop by the corridor, she crossed her arms on her chest.
"Chocolate cake?" Aarush grinned while she bit the inside of her cheek. "Truffle?"
"Truffle it is." He nodded with pleading eyes.
A satisfactory smile curved her lips and she breathed out. "Alright then."
The slow, lazy day turned into a hectic journey when Aarush walked through the big halls, checking all the labels and name boards on the rooms.
"This one," he nodded.
Sakshi groaned tiredly. "Wait. I can't walk anymore."
"Sakshi, just a floor above. Please."
She shook her head with wide eyes. "No, please. I am hungry. I need to grab something or I'll be flat on the floor."
Aarush sighed annoyingly. "Then, meet me outside. There is no eating allowed in here. I'll be back in ten minutes. I just need his signatures and have to give him the invitation."
"I will be waiting outside."
Not wasting any of left energy, she sat on the public seat on the outside of the government building. There were some temporary food stalls twenty steps away from the area and finally, she was able to grab a cold water bottle plus a sandwich.
Half the bottle was empty as she kept gulping the water greedily but a sharp pain shot through her nose as series of coughs choked the life out of her. It wasn't natural disaster. It was a sick coincidence that God anonymously played with her. A very sick one.
This was fourth year living in Delhi and she had never seen him anywhere. Never. Raghav hadn't sent her here to study until he heard about his plan of studying abroad. Last night that she had seen him, she could consider that he must have come to spend some holidays. Diwali was also next month. But catching him outside the court was giving her a weird feeling that maybe, he was actually living here.
Her throat shook with each gulp while she tried hard to breathe through her now peeled nose, watching the familiar face passing across her. As if her heartbeats had stopped. All the colors around her had faded and all she could see was him walking with a stressed face like any business man would hold.
Again, in other business suit defining the beauty of a hot corporate official.
Her gulps turned painful as an aftermath of what she just saw and she shook her head in disbelief.
"Again, gawking the men. What's wrong with you? I thought, you liked me only."
She had heard her best friend's words but nothing was important than drinking each minute of his presence- his strong existence in her life that she hadn't felt from four years. Her nostrils flared while eyes glistened partly from emotions and the pain in her nose.
"Hey! I have seen that man. . ." Aarush trailed off, making her slowly stand up in shock. From the first day of her bachelors to this day, she could count that she had never let anybody touch her phone. Then, how the hell Aarush had seen his pics in her phone. She had even hid them in the secret folder. Then, how?
"What the fuc-"
Sakshi kept looking at his retreating back but still felt desperate to know the explanation from Aarush. What if he was just mistaking him for someone else?
"He is the one I have seen in the newspaper, two-three days ago."
Her nose scrunched in confusion. "What?" Her eyes still watching him getting in the car. The person whom she hadn't noticed earlier, a man in the black coat-must be a lawyer, took the passenger seat.
Wait. Lawyer?
"Yeah, he is Shrey Mehra. Um, no. Malhotra. Shrey Malhotra."
Shivers ran through her spine at the mention of his name. Her heart thumped loudly at guessing that maybe Aarush was teasing her. He must have seen his pics in her phone. He knew. He really knew that he was her-
"What did he do?" She tried her best not to sound cracked and desperate.
Who knew that his reply would push away the ground beneath her feet. Otherwise, she would have never dared to ask that question.
"He has raped his colleague's wife."
