《Mistake // Jonah Marais》T H I R T Y - F I V E

It's been over a month since Jonah and I have officially been together. A month of tour, also. This has certainly been one of the best months of my life, and I wouldn't choose to spend it with anyone else.
But, I can't help but feel strange, I guess is the word you would use. Jonah has been extremely distant recently, and I don't know if I did something to possibly upset him. He knows I wouldn't do anything to upset him purposely, but I can't help but thank something is going on.
Which is why I decided asking one of the boys would probably be the best solution. I knew Jonah would deny anything was going on, or just walk away from me like he has abruptly the past three days, so the boys were obviously the best people to go to for information.
"Hey corbyn!" I drew out the 'n' as I sat next to him on the small couch at the front of the bus. Daniel and Zach were exploring the city we were at while Jonah and Jack fell asleep about two hours ago in their bunks.
"Oh, hey Brin!" He smiled, turning his phone off and shoving it in his pocket, "What's up?"
I looked at the bunks to make sure I couldn't see any movement behind them to ensure no one was listening in. "Uhm, I actually have something to ask you."
"Sure, ask away."
"Have you noticed Jonah has been a sting different lately? Like he's been really distancing himself from me and I just can't seem to figure out what I did wrong. If you know, can you please tell me? I don't like him being upset with me - if he is I mean."
Corbyn frowned, looking down at his hands that I had just noticed he was fiddling with. "Oh, no, I don't know anything."

He attempted to get up before I grabbed his arm and pulled him back down to the couch. "Don't lie, I know you do. So please, tell me what I did wrong."
He sighed before answering, "You didn't do anything wrong, Brin. If anything, Jonah is the one in the wrong. I wish I could tell you what's going on, I really do. But it's a conversation you two need to have, privately. I guess when he wakes up you two can talk about it."
I crinkled my eyebrows in confusion. What could Jonah possibly have done or is doing that could be so bad? He's a kind guy who wouldn't hurt a fly, so it's hard to imagine what he could do to possibly be in the wrong.
"Okay." I simply said, not wanting to pressure Corbyn any further since he had already seemed to be getting uncomfortable with the many questions I was asking.
Instead, I walked to my bunk and hopped in. For what seemed like a long while, I stared at the ceiling, a million thoughts swarming my head. The idea of Jonah being the bad guy in any situation was nearly impossible. He would have to be quite possibly the kindest souls I have ever met, like I've said previously.
My heart was racing at a million beats a minute. Part of me wanted Jonah to wake up so I could know what is going on, while the other part was to scared to find out.
I don't know why I was thinking like that. Jonah wouldn't do anything to terrible to possibly jeopardize him and I. My mind has gone from this idea to that, trying to figure out why Corbyn couldn't just tell me.
I heard the bunk under me move, meaning Jonah had gotten up and was probably going to get a water or something like that. It took me awhile to work up the courage to hop out of my own bunk, but I finally managed to do so.

He was sitting by the table located near the small kitchen, scrolling through his phone with his tired face turned into an odd smile. My nerves were going wild as I slowly approached the table. If I was being honest, I was scared to find out what had been going on.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Corbyn - with the same frown - get up and exit the bus. He must've texted Jack something, as he followed him soon after. I had no idea he was even awake.
"Hey Jonah..." I said, attempting to keep my voice calm.
He gave me a small nod, not even bothering to look up at me. He instead chose to stare at his phone, a small smile still evident on his face.
"Can we talk?" He ignored me, of course. "Jonah, please."
Once again, he ignored me, causing me to grow angry as minutes went by. I walked closer to the table and snatched his phone out of his hands, causing him to immediately get up and stare at me with wide eyes.
"Brinley, give me my phone back." Jonah said, not a hint of comedy in his voice.
I stared at the screen, looking at the name at the top of the message screen. "Who is Kyndall?"
"No one of importance, now give me my phone back."
I ignored him, like he had done me a lot this past week, and continued scrolling through the messages on the screen. My jaw slowly tensed as each message began to make more and more sense.
I looked up at Jonah to see him staring back down at me with apologetic eyes, obviously regretting everything. Or regretting letting me find out.
The fact that he could do something like this to me, or at least I think I know what's going on, is so incredibly fucked up and unforgivable.
So I looked up once more at him before shoving his phone to his chest, letting him take hold of it before letting go. "How could you do this to me? After everything, going and cheating on me was what you believed was right?
"How could you?"
