"Someone sent me a fan fiction about you to read and let me just say," I said, turning my phone off and looking up at Jonah. I was currently laying on his shoulder since he took all my pillows. "It was probably the greatest thing I've ever read."

He shook his head, "Fans are crazy, man."

"Did you just man zone me?" I asked, pretending to be offended by getting up off the bed and crossing my arms as I stood in front of Jonah.

"Oh no," He gasped, also standing up. "I'm so incredibly sorry."

"Say it like you mean it."

Jonah got down on two knees and held his hands up like he was begging for something. "I'm so incredibly sorry, Brinley Rose Firley, please forgive me for zoning you in the man."

"That last part made no sense," I laughed, grabbing his arms to stand him up, "But I guess I forgive you. Mainly because you're leaving tomorrow morning and I'm sad."

Jonah frowned as he sat back down on my bed, "I wish I didn't have to leave. If I could, I would stay here with you until it was time for you to move with Ali and Ashton to LA. Speaking of them, where are they? I haven't seen them since I've been here."

I shrugged. I honestly have no idea where they are. The only sign that they are alive was when Ali commented on my post earlier Though, I do have an idea where they are. "I don't know, I haven't heard from them in a while. They randomly left two days before you got here."

"Aren't you worried?"

"No," I shook my head, "They've done this before. It usually lasts a week or two."

"But why exactly do they do it?" Jonah was growing more curious as the time went on. I was trying hard to not have to tell him the reason, but I guess I just dug myself into a hole.

"Uhm, remember at the cemetery how I said they had a best friend who also passed away and would always visit her grave?" Jonah just simply nodded. "Well, Ali and Ashton go to a cabin located in the woods that belonged to her at least once every other month. They bought it when everything of hers was sold. Her parents didn't want any memory of her hanging around, so they choose to sell any thing she ever owned, besides pictures of course. That's probably where they are now. Reception sucks out there also which is why we haven't heard from them."

"So they left you to pack up your whole house by yourself?"

Us three decided we would make the long journey from Kentucky to LA in a month, when our apartment is finally ready for us to move into. Our house is so crowded and packed with stuff we need to decided what we're bringing, throwing out, and donating. But. being there's a lot of stuff, it'll take us a few weeks to go through everything we have to.

"No, they'll probably be back in a few days so we can just begin then." Jonah nodded again. "Anyways, it's our last day together, what do you want to do?"

"You tell me."

"Kentucky literally has nothing to do," I said honestly, "One of the many reasons I want to move out. But we can go to the river since we didn't go yesterday."

"You really want to show me this river, don't you?" Jonah smirked.

I shrugged, "There's a lot of memories there."

"Wanna tell me about them?"

"When we get there I will."

Jonah and I arrived at a parking lot with a sidewalk that led down to the 'beach' area of the Ohio river. We continued to walk in silence until we came to a tree that my mother and I would always visit. Carved into the bark was her initials along with my fathers.

I ran my hand across it as I began telling the story to Jonah who was seated at a bench in front of the tree, "My mother and father met here. Yeah, they'd always tell me the story. My dad was here to get drunk with his friends. He ended up coming all the way over here from the parking lot alone, which is where he saw my mother crying on that bench your sitting on.

"He comforted her, asked her what was wrong. For some reason, she trusted him enough to spill her whole story to him. Basically, her mother has passed away two weeks before due to cancer she had been fighting for two years. Her father, who was once the most generous man alive, took his grief and hatred out on my mother, if you know what I mean.

"I guess you can say their love story went on from there. They would come here and visit this tree every year on their anniversary of meeting. They soon carved their initials here. Whenever they told me this story, they would call this 'cupid's place'. I always laughed, calling the name stupid and my parents crazy."

Jonah said nothing. He just simply picked up a nearby stone with a sharp edge and proceeded to carve his initials above my parents. I was shocked to see him add '& B.R.F'.

He turned and smiled at me, "Like your parents said, 'cupid's place'."

I had no idea what he meant, but one day was for sure. I was falling for Jonah Marais, the boy who sent me and accidental text.

The End.

lol jk, i'm so funny. if you read my author note last chapter, here's an update; we found my dog:). and my friend is doing so much better. the news published a story saying she was playing 'chicken' with the cars. that is 100% not true. she was crossing the street. it upsets me how people can twist a story to make it seem like the victims fault.

anyways, there was basically some more insight into brins life, and i'm kinda proud of this chapter if i'm being honest.6
