《Bushes - A Hot Chelle Rae Fanfic (Ryan/OC)》Chapter 23

Ryan and Nash hated planes. Jamie was fine, he slept for nearly the whole nine hour flight, while Ian listened to music and watched movies. But Ryan and Nash had a very short attention span. They were used to travelling across the country on a tour bus, where there was nonstop action -- not on a plane where nearly everything was quiet. Ryan would have been fine, after all he was sitting next to Maddie; however, he was too distracted by the added weight in his pocket that was a little black velvet box to concentrate on anything. Besides, Maddie could sleep almost anywhere at anytime. It was actually rather adorable.
Needless to say, after nine hours of being on a plane, all five of them were ready to walk on actual ground again. After finally making it through customs, picking up their baggage, and finding a taxi, everyone was feeling much more awake. Maybe it was the coffee they all bought, or maybe it was the fact that they were in Spain. Probably the latter. The city was beautiful. Their first show was in Madrid, where they were staying that night. And thankfully it wasn't until the following night. So they had some free time. The taxi dropped them off at the hotel, and that's when they all went their own ways.
Maddie and Ryan dropped their bags off in their room and changed out of their airplane clothes. The hotel they were staying at was actually really nice. Marble floors, everything was pristine and white -- it was something new and exciting. While Ryan was taking a quick shower, Maddie opened the curtains to their balcony and stepped out, observing the city. It was big and busy...not much different from some cities in America actually. Except if you looked out at the horizon, you could just make out the outlines of mountains and it was absolutely beautiful. The door slid open once again, and Ryan stepped out, slightly damp from the shower and wrapped his arms around her waist, lightly kissing her cheek. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

"Definitely," She agreed, leaning into him. "It reminds me of home, which I like...but it also has a different vibe about it."
"Exactly. You know, I could see us living here one day." At that, Maddie spun around and smiled up at him.
"Well that's a little forward of you, thinking you could just wisk me away to some foreign country," She teased.
"You are such a dork," Ryan mumbled before pressing his lips against hers, and pulling her close. "Now come on," He said. "Let's go enjoy the city."

Madrid was perfect. It was as simple as that. Ryan and Maddie walked through the busiest part of the city hand in hand, before stumbling across a familiar building Ryan recognized that can give you the best view in the city. All you had to do was pay a few euros to climb up a ridiculous amount of stairs and then you could have unlimited access to the roof. So that's what they did.
Maddie leaned against Ryan as they looked out across the city, that stretched on for what looked like miles. He nuzzled his face between her neck and shoulder, breathing in her perfume. His hand wandered into his pocket, and felt the black velvet box that made his stomach turn. Was he crazy to want to propose to her? She had just graduated high school a few months ago, after all. But as he looked at her, and saw her big smile as the light wind blew her hair off her face, all of those doubts washed away. He knew he wanted to - no, he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with her. However, he pulled his hand out of his pocket empty handed, and placed it on her hip. Now wasn't the time.

After spending the entire day exploring Madrid and eating a lot of unhealthy Spanish food, Maddie and Ryan were currently lying on their hotel bed, exhausted. Ryan had his arms wrapped around her, and their legs were intertwined. Life was great. And tomorrow was the band's first international show ever, not to mention it was sold out. A few years ago, when Ryan met Nash and started the band, he never would have guessed he'd be where he is now: successful. happy, and with his bandmates and beautiful girlfriend on an all-expense paid trip to Spain. He didn't think this moment could get any better.
Ryan closed his eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep, as he felt Maddie snuggle closer to him, and softly whisper, "I love you," into his chest. Okay, so maybe now this moment couldn't get any better.
