I don't know why my heart felt heavy. I was sitting on my bed, but I felt numb. Rosé wasn't here since I forced her to go to class. I was blankly staring at the penguin picture above my bed. How can someone who I have no recollection of affect me so bad?
I scrolled through the photos on my phone, but still nothing. Rosé had been keeping me updated throughout the school day. Apparently, Ali hadn't come in today. I felt guilty knowing that I was the reason. She seemed so hurt and broken yesterday. I sighed and locked my phone.
I was staring at the picture when I heard something rustle. My brows furrowed together at the mysterious sound. It sounded like scratching, so I was freaking out. It was coming from Rosé's side. What the hell does Rosé have under her bed?! I hesitantly walked over to her bed.
I was about to pull the covers up, but I chickened out. The rustling got louder, so I squeaked and ran back to my side. I jumped on my bed and began panicking. I needed a weapon. I decided a notebook would do for now. I took a couple deep breaths and psyched myself up. I then jumped off my bed and mustered up as much courage as possible. I jumped up and down before yanking Rosé's covers down.
I gasped at the sight before me. It was our guinea pig!
"Sir Plumpy! You gave me a heart attack!" I chastised him. "How could you do that?!" I took him out the cage. "You scared me half to death! If Ali was here, then she'd give you a lecture. Well, mostly me since she can't stand that I made her get a rodent and - AHH!" I yelled.
Sir Plumpy jumped onto my bed. I fell down, clutching my head. It was in so much pain. I could feel memories bombard me and overpower my senses. Tears were streaming down my face at the intensity. I heard the door open and voices stop.

I saw Rosé's pink hair in my peripheral. I think KJ was with her. They both held me and began asking if I was alright. I only screamed in pain. KJ was nervous and called for some help. I was clutching onto Rosé for dear life.
"What's wrong?" Rosé asked.
"My head! It hurts!" I squeezed my eyes shut.
I began seeing memories of Ali. I remembered her annoyed face when I spilt chocolate milk on her. The signature scowl she used to greet me with. Her annoyance when I interrupted her tennis practice. Her giving me a lame apology in the lunchroom and me dismissing her. Ali saving me from Rohan and then taking me on a breakfast date. Her speaking with me and Tamsin being annoyed. Gem being nice the entire time and Zara being Zara. I remembered Skye and her plan to take me away from Ali. Ali and Skye fighting over me. Ali saving me from the car that would've killed me. Me screaming when I saw her yell in pain. Our secret dates. Our breakups. Ali buying Sir Plumpy for me. Us cooking and almost burning her kitchen down. The cute dates and fairy lights. Her holding my hand. Us making love. And then her telling me she loves me for the first time.
My breathing began to calm down. My mouth hung open. Tears were coming out my eyes as I silently cried.
"Nic!" Rosé and KJ were staring at me. "What's wrong?!"
"I need my Alicia. I love her."
I left my friend before they could respond. I ran through the campus, trying to find Ali's friends or family. I ran into Tamsin and Laurens. He was holding her hand with a genuine smile. He kissed her cheek, causing her to swoon.
"Tamsin!" She jumped. "I need your car!"
"Wha-"
"I remember Ali and I need-"
"Here." She quickly handed me the keys. "She's not home and I didn't know where-"

"She'd be at her favorite place." I smiled at Tamsin and Laurens. "The aquarium." I went to leave, but Tamsin grabbed my wrist.
"Before you leave, I just want to apologize for everything. I'm so sorry about the Willa incident since that had negatively impacted your relationship and then the Rohan-"
"I know Tasmin." I gave her a smile, shocking her. "I forgive you."
Tasmin was about to ask a question, but I left her questions behind. Getting to Ali was more important right now. I entered Tasmin's Audi and booked it to the aquarium. I quickly tossed the keys to valet. I ignored the cashier and ran inside. I heard them yelling for security, but I was more concerned with finding MY girlfriend. I ran to the colorful fishes that glowed in the dark. I was confused since this was Ali's favorite exhibition. I then ran to the stingrays and turtles since I knew she loved them as well.
I had to swerve from the security chasing me. This totally works in the movies and not real life! I am not in shape for this! Thankfully, most of the security were overweight so they were having trouble catching me. I almost gave up, but I thought about the one thing that reminded Ali of me.
I darted into the penguin exhibit. I breathed a sigh of relief at seeing Ali. My heart broke as I saw her heartbroken features. She was staring at the penguin who was suffering from a broken heart. It was said that penguins have one partner their entire life and will literally die from a broken heart when their partner passes. Ali was touching the glass, offering the depressed penguin some comfort. I heard the guards shouting. Ooops! Forgot about them!
"ALICIA!" I screamed. She jumped and turned around. "Oh, Ali." I quickly walked to her.
"Nic, what are you-"
I shut her up with a kiss. She tried to pull back so she could say something, but I refused to release her. I deepened the kiss, forcing her to kiss me back. She decided to fall into the kiss instead of fighting it. She wrapped her arms around my neck while I clutched her waist. I guess the security arrived, but felt awkward and didn't know what to do.
"Nic-"
"Alicia, I remember you and I'm so sorry." I cried. "Please forgive me. I love you so much and-" It was her turn to kiss me passionately. "I love you so much Alicia. I love you so much." I kept repeating between kisses.
"I love you too." She smiled.
"Excuse me." We turned to see 5 police officers. "You're under arrest for-"
"I'll pay her bond." Ali quickly dismissed them. "What did you do?" She turned to me.
"I may have been so desperate to see you that I forgot to pay and-"
"Here." Ali threw them her back card. "Cover her expenses there." She glared at the men. The officers were about to say something, but she gestured for them to read the name on the card. Their eyes widened in recognition. "Remember I can buy the department and then fire you or I can make a call and suggest all of your termination. It's your choice." Her tone was sharp. The guards quickly nodded and took her card to pay for my ticket.
"Alicia." She looked back at me. "I'm so sorry. You must've been so hurt and-"
"Don't worry. I'm just happy to have you back." She placed her lips on mine.
"I'm never letting you go." I whispered against her lips. Alicia smiled, indicating that she clearly heard it.
