《The Academy 2》29

"Have you guys seen Alicia?" I sat on the cobblestone wall.
"Nope!" Shawn and Justin said.
"Was she not in class?" Cher and Hyde walked up.
"Nah." I shook my head.
I was about to ask another question, but the sound of chatter distracted me. We looked to see a crowd surrounding someone. They were excitedly speaking to this mysterious person. Because there were so many people, I couldn't make out the person in the middle.
"Wonder who that is." Taylor walked with her hand entwined with KJ (Yep, they're a thing now).
"I'd say one of the McAllisters, but they would've demanded people not to get so close to them." Rosé had her arm swung around Leon and Michael's shoulders.
We then started talking about random things. Michael invited us to a charity event that he and Hailey were hosting. It was for child education in the sub Saharan region of Africa. It was a formal event and he highly encouraged me to bring Alicia's wallet. I rolled my eyes at his smirking face.
Justin explained that Hailey was absent since she had a luncheon with donors. He was supposed to join her, but couldn't get out of hockey practice. Obviously, Hailey wasn't amused and he was on her shit list. Shawn laughed and nudged a terrified Justin.
Rosé jumped onto my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck. She beamed as she kicked her legs back and forth. Hyde and Leon mumbled "that's gay." They then high fived each other. KJ, whose arm was wrapped around Taylor, asked if I wanted to watch his fencing match. I didn't get to reply since Rosé and Leon audibly gasped. I furrowed my eyes at Rosé. A shadow then blocked me from the sun. I looked up and gasped at the person in front of me.
"Hello, gorgeous." Skye smirked. "Seems like someone beat me to your embrace." She peered at Rosé's arms around my neck.
I looked past her and saw the crowd scowling at me. So it was her who had everyone's attention. They were clearly jealous that I was receiving her attention, now. Well, I don't want it! You guys can have her back!

"I-I thought you left." I stuttered out.
"You know her?!" My friends asked in shock.
"Yes." She answered with a smile.
"We met briefly... like very briefly." I corrected.
"I wouldn't say a brief meeting would result in a personal invite to a formula 1 Grand Prix." My friends were dumbfounded since I may have omitted that part when discussing my travels to Nice. "I'd like to get to know you better."
"Umm..." My eyes darted around, trying to find at least one McAllister sister.
"If you're looking for Alicia, don't." I snapped my attention back to her. "I have her blessing to court you."
"What?" I somehow got out.
"What?!" My friends asked.
"WHAT?!" The crowd of students yelled.
"Let's get to know each other... somewhere far better than school." She clutched my hand and dragged me up, causing Rosé to fall onto the grass. I sympathetically glanced at Rosé, who was staring daggers at Skye. "Where's somewhere Ali hasn't taken you?" I felt anger consume me as she called Alicia by her nickname. "Well..." She pressed.
"Uh, the bodega." I just said something to shut her up.
I then yanked my hand free. She smirked at my actions and led me to a Lamborghini. I'm not surprised she's flashy. She opened my door, so I thanked her. She then walked over to the driver seat and roared the engine to life. We then drove in silence, except for her Spotify playlist. I hate to admit it, but her musical taste is good.
"Didn't take you for a sneakerhead." She broke the silence.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me." I stared out the window.
"Well, good thing I'm going to learn more today." I rolled my eyes at her cocky self. "Does Alicia know you're a sneakerhead?"
"No." I monotonously stated. I swear I saw a smirk on her face from my answer. "Aren't you worried your car is gonna get stolen?" I asked as she parallel parked.
"If it does get stolen, then I'll just buy another one." She shrugged and got out.
Before I could open my door, she opened it and offered her hand. I took it as she assisted me out the car. I then allowed my hand to fall slack, but she just held it tighter. I groaned as she swung our arms back and forth while walking into the store.

"Okay, sneakerhead. Buy whatever you like." She handed me her black card, but I just shook my head no. "You know it's rude to reject someone's gracious offer." She quirked a brow.
"And I say it's refreshing knowing I have no interest in your money." I left her to view the Nike Air Max 95. I picked up the shoe and assessed the weight.
"I can easily buy you that."
"And I easily will refuse." I placed the shoe down and walked to the Margiela collection.
"You are very confusing." I could tell she was frustrated, causing me to smirk. "Every girl would die to have free spending range of my card." She leaned against the wall. "Why not you?" Her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Because I'm not like other girls." I mocked the common phrase. "Now, can you like back off a little... you're blocking the Air Jordans."
"Now, I see why you captivated Alicia." I actually looked at her. "You deviate from our norm. You're like exotic in our world." I just shrugged at her and picked up the shoes. "You've intrigued me and now I'm hooked." My attention snapped to her in utter confusion. "Let me buy you something, please."
"Only Ali can spend money on me." I defiantly said as I crossed my arms.
"Feisty... definitely love that in a girl." She smirked. "Alright, then. No materials, so I'll settle with food. Come along." She took my hand in hers and walked out the store.
I was secretly hoping her car got stolen, but my prayers weren't answered. She opened my door again before getting in the driver's seat. She then drove us to her favorite restaurant in Boston. Skye began telling me about how expensive the place was, but I didn't care. I was silently cursing myself for not charging my phone. Because of that, I couldn't text Ali and yell at her for allowing Skye to "court me." Like what the hell?! We're dating and you're allowing another girl to date your girlfriend! We're not poly!
"When can I go back to my dorm?"
"When you decide to have fun." Skye stated before slowing down.
The valet opened our doors and assisted us out. The restaurant definitely had a strict dress code, but Skye didn't care. I mean... I know our school uniform is hella expensive, but still. Shouldn't we have changed before or something. Skye walked up to the hostess and gave her name. Once the hostess heard the name "Casiraghi," she immediately led us to a private room. Ugh! The last thing I wanted was to be in a private room with this sleaze ball.
I rolled my eyes as I looked at the menu. It was one of those expensive places that didn't tell you the price of the meal. I told Skye to order me whatever since I wasn't in the mood. She ordered me a duck dish while she got some kind of fish.
"So, tell me about yourself." I just gave her a bored expression. "Fine." She smugly sat back. "Ask me anything."
"Why the hell have you kidnapped me and forced me on a date?!" I leaned forward to hiss.
"Ahh, so she does speak." I rolled my eyes and leaned back. "Because you captivated me the moment we met. You're breathtakingly beautiful and I want you to be mine." I involuntarily blushed at the compliment, but was pissed that she thought she could claim me. "It pissed me off that you were on Alicia's arm and not mine." She bitterly spoke.
"What happened between you and Alicia?" I uncrossed my arms.
"Let's make a deal." I groaned at her. "I'll answer any questions you have about Alicia and me, if you enjoy our date." She sat back with a grin.
"Fine." I sipped the water.
"And I mean at the end of the date I'll tell you... and it's gonna be a long night." She gave me a devious smirk.

City of Champions Online
Having found the tragic truth that an art degree is worth less than the paper it is printed on, Jacquelyn Jones is frustrated with her dead end work as a graphic designer for a marketing firm, finding new ways to try and convince people that this week's 50 cent off sale is actually worth driving to the store. She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games!
