《The Academy 2》4

My sisters and I got formally dressed when it was an hour before landing. My lilac dress reached halfway down my thigh. I was applying my makeup when Nic entered and sat on the bed. I gave her a smile through the mirror as I finished applying my lipstick.
"So what should I do while you guys have your meeting?"
"Umm... you can either stay in the hotel or explore the city a little. The meeting is at 9 and we should probably finish up around 1pm." I touched up my highlight a little. "I can arrange a guide for you."
"That's okay. I'll probs just walk around and eat some of the yummy food." She fell onto her back.
"Oh, that reminds me. Here." I handed her my black card. "Trust me, you'll need it." I didn't wait for a reply as I shoved it into her hands. "Feel free to go crazy." I smacked my lips together and fixed my hair to my liking.
"Don't worry, I'll keep the tab really, really low." I spun around to see her awkwardly holding my card.
"Hey, I'm serious. I want you to enjoy your time here. It's technically business travel, but we are staying here for a couple of days to build business relations or as my sisters and I like to call it... site seeing. Though, we are all obligated to go to Disneyland since Gemzi is obsessed with visiting every park in the world." I took her hand. "Now, let's find our seats so we don't get killed when they land the plane." We walked to our seats and sat down.
My sisters and I were getting the files in order for our respective meetings. We will all be going to different companies to sit on the board meetings. The company I'm visiting is the top biotechnology company in Hong Kong. My dad only trusts me to make the final decisions on how the products should progress. Tamsin was stuck with a smaller, but important company. The twins were each to go to a software company.
The plane safely landed and we each walked down the stairs. Five cars awaited us since we were all going in different directions and had meetings at the same time. I took Lala's hand and guided her to one of the cars.
"開車送她去酒店." (Lala looked like I had grown two heads. "Don't worry, they speak English here as well, but I like to brush up on my mandarin before entering the boardroom." I kissed her before ushering her inside.

I walked to my lone car since my sisters had already left. I greeted the driver and went to sit in the back of the Range Rover. Tamsin must've placed my files inside since the folder was on the seat next to me. I picked it up and briefly scanned the main points.
So it seems like the company wants to make a biosimilar version of the biologic. By doing that, they can have two products and make double the money since one would be cheaper. But, it also looks like they'll be screwing over people who don't have insurance since they will not be qualified for the cheaper biosimilar and will be forced to pay for the biologic. Just another way to rip off poor people I guess.
I was so caught up in looking for cute date ideas to do in Hong Kong, that I didn't realize I had arrived until my door was opened. I thanked the driver and made my way inside. The assistant to the big guy was already waiting for me. I didn't stop so she fell into stride with me while briefly explaining the purpose of the meeting.
We entered the glass elevator and began ascending. I took a moment to gaze out the window and view the skyscraper skyline. The elevator stopped once we reached the 69th floor. Seems like someone has a kink. The assistant (I didn't bother learning her name) led me inside a room filled with geriatric men (okay, so they maybe in their 50s but they're still like hella old). They politely bowed to which I mimicked.
"我認為這個想法可以加強我們的底線" One of the men stood up and began speaking.
"抱歉,我們應該切換到英語" ) Another man spoke up.
"請不要更改我的帳戶." The executives mouths hung open. I signaled them to continue where they left off.
The rest of the meeting consisted of them debating whether their idea was ethical. I quickly told them it was not and would cause problems with the companies' stock if word got out about the unethical business activities. I advised them to think of a better reason that we could market the biosimilar drug. With my help, the scientists were able to find a new chemical compound that would deliver the same results, but at a cheaper cost.
I texted my dad that the deal was done. My eyes widened as I realized the time. One of my downfalls is that I get so caught up in work that I fail to notice how much time passes. I usually don't care, but I have a girlfriend now. A girlfriend who expected me to finish at 1pm, not 11pm. Shit! I texted Lala that I just got off work and am sorry.

I told my driver to head to the hotel. Hopefully, she's there and not too pissed. I felt a ding and looked down to see my father responded. He wanted a full detail report from me, not just a simple "I did it." I groaned before typing out a detailed email to him. I sent it to him and sighed. I'm not in the mood for him to shower me with praise.
He always tells me that I'm his little protégée. That phrase used to fill me with pride, but not anymore. I saw my role as something that was predetermined for me. Granted, I don't think I'd ever change my career, but I still would've like the opportunity to have chosen it. I felt another ding and rolled my eyes. As expected, he showered me with praise and wants to plan a celebratory dinner when we return. He did claim it would be to celebrate all of his daughters' accomplishments, so I'm guessing my sisters also succeeded in their roles today.
The driver stopped, but this time the valet opened my door. The owner of the hotel was waiting for me with a bright smile on his face. We bowed to each other and he decided to escort me, himself, to my room. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I controlled myself. I didn't want my dad to hear about my rude behavior. I almost screamed in delight when we finally reached the penthouse. There was only so much longer that I could pretend to find his small talk interesting.
My and the owner's eyes widened in shock at the destructive state of the room. Pillows were absentmindedly thrown, empty bottles of alcohol were littered about, and empty plates were lining the furniture. I heard something that sounded like a cat dying, and that's when I realized it was Gemma singing. Both of us turned our heads to see the rave party Gemma had thrown in the room.
"Umm... thanks." I gave a thousand dollars as a tip to the owner.
I quickly shut the door and walked further into the trashed room. As I got closer to Gemma, I saw Nicola looking like she was flabbergasted at my sister's antics. Gemma and her newfound friends were taking shots of sake off each other. They offered one to Nic, who politely declined.
"What's going on?" I whispered to Nicola. She jumped at the sound of my voice.
"Thank God you're here. Your sister is crazy! I thought you were getting off at 1, so I went back to the hotel, but you weren't there. Tamsin finished up and said 'eww' when she saw me. The twins came back about a half hour later, but you still weren't back. Tamsin and Zara didn't want to entertain me so they left. Gemma then suggested we do something so she took me all around Hong Kong and took me to the red light district and then we went to like a hostess bar thingy and met these people." Nic's hands were gesticulating wildly as she rambled. "We then went to the club together, but Gemma didn't want the party to end so she brought them back here with us. Zara and Tamsin walked out the moment we came back with a party. I honestly have no idea where they went." She concluded.
"Probably booked another room to sleep in tonight. And sorry the meeting went over and I had to help fix stuff and lost track of time." I rambled. "Anyways, I think it's time this party ended."
I walked up to the speaker and pulled the plug. Everyone groaned when I pointed my hand to the door. They all said goodbye to Gemma before leaving. I was about to question Gemma, but she was passed out on the couch. When did that girl fall asleep? I sighed and carried my sister to a bedroom.
When I walked out, I grabbed some of the egg rolls since I was hungry. I somehow forgot to eat lunch and dinner. As I was munching away, Nic stood to try and clean up. I stopped her and told her the staff would clean everything tomorrow. I ate some of the chicken skewers as I watched Nicola observe me. I quirked an eyebrow, but she just blushed and looked away.
I smirked when I placed the skewer down. I walked over to her and threw her over my shoulder. She squealed and started hitting my back as I walked to my room. I threw her down on the bed. Her face was flushed with embarrassment. It looked like she wanted to say something, so I crawled towards her and covered her mouth with mine. I pushed her down so that I was completely on top. This girl will not be getting much sleep tonight.

Apocalypse at Mighty Max
God sold us out and the world ended... well, sort of. God may have sold us, or at least, our universe but our world didn't end. Instead, the new owners decided to play, and we all know what that means: Monsters, a System, Magic, Cultivation, and, of course, two new moons! Thanks for reading! I appreciate the interest. This is a rough draft and is intended to flesh out some ideas for a novel that I had. Maybe figure out if I want to do this author thing, you know? If you want immediately OP MCs, fights every chapter, a harem, this is not the story for you. Sorry about that. If you're willing to put up with a long growth curve, an MC that doesn't know what he's doing most of the time but is trying his best both to survive and to help his friends survive, you might enjoy the story. I'm just trying to have fun, maybe create something that in a second draft I can sell on the eBook market. If you're not into that, not into providing helpful comments for revisions, hey, that's cool, but do us both a favor and stop reading now. ** Oh, release schedule For the first weeks, I'll be releasing a chapter (1800-3000 words) a day. Following that, I'll be releasing whenever the mood strikes me. If I get some feedback, the mood might strike me more often, hint! hint!

The actual main character is a human, the raccoon is a pet for the novel. So it isn't a raccoon Isekai or reincarnation as a raccoon. I still haven't added it to the story, as I am currently doing the intro. A long intro! So the start might feel off when you read it. The story will include many genres but starts with psychological stuff and low fantasy. The whole story is an enormous puzzle, but it starts with a tiresome beginning for many. There is a reason for that... If you want to know more about this story check my discord: https://discord.gg/rZs6mem You can ask what you want to know there.
