《The Academy》Chapter 22

The week zoomed by so quickly. Normally I'd be happy that it's Friday, but I'm anxious to go away with Alicia. The whole week my head had been filled with every devious action the McAllister family had partaken in. I'm scared to be around her, because like everyone says, she can keep her true emotions hidden. What if she really doesn't love me and just wants to use me? Very few people know about my relationship with her and I want to keep it that way since there's not a day that goes by where someone is bitching about one of them. KJ had also been acting weird so I confronted him about it. He wanted to confirm if I was straight or not. He was disheartened when I told him I'm a lesbian. He quickly reassured me that he didn't think differently of me and wanted to continue being my friend. He was just a little sad because he had developed a crush on me. We laughed it off and our relationship returned to normal. So now, all of my friends at the school know I'm a lesbian, but they advised me to keep it on the down low. If only they knew that I was dating a member of one of the most powerful families.

"Would you like something to drink?" The stewardess snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Umm... just water please." She smiled as she handed me a bottle. "Thanks." I mumbled as she walked away. Alicia spared me a glance as she looked up from her Mac. She typed for a few more minutes before closing the computer.

"Sorry. I had to finish something up for my father. I was supposed to have it done yesterday, but I was a bit preoccupied." She glanced down.

"It's okay." I shifted around in the leather seats. I'm not surprised that they travel in private jets, but I never thought that my ass would be in one.

"Are you uncomfortable?" Alicia inquired.

"Just not used to this." I waved my hand around the jet. Alicia seemed saddened by this and looked down. Shit! Ummm... quick thinking where are you? "Uh why are we going to Canada? I know you said your sisters are going so..." I wondered if she wanted to introduce me to her family. If so, then I'm soooooo not ready for that and am now sweating bullets.

"Ryder has a snowboarding competition in Vancouver. He invited Zara who in turn invited Gemma and Chico and then Gemma invited me and I invited you." She rambled. "We can't really travel without telling our parents where we are going, so that's why Zara had Gemma and Chico accompany her. She also told father that it's for Chico's charity thing. Like I don't know. My father doesn't really pay attention to the reason THEY travel." She glanced down.

"But your sisters will be there." That got Alicia's attention. "And they'll see you with me. Do they-"

"No. They don't know. And don't worry about them seeing you. They're gonna be so preoccupied with their boyfriends that they'll hardly notice our presence." She chuckled. That eased my concern, but at the same time I felt a twinge of pain. I admit that I'd be freaking out if Alicia introduced me to her family, but I do want that... at least someday. "Hey. Are you okay?" She coddled my hand.

"Yep! Just can't wait to see some snowboarding." I gave her a forced smile. I knew Alicia could see right through it, but she refrained from commenting.

"Lala." An angelic voice whispered in my ear. I scrunched my nose and squinted. I left the comfortable position of Alicia's shoulder and stood up. "We just landed. If you're not too tired, I'd like to take you somewhere." I nodded as I took her outstretched hand. She led me into a black Range Rover. She must've already communicated with the driver because he just started driving and didn't ask any questions. My mouth opened as we drove through the breathtakingly beautiful streets of Vancouver. I don't know how long we'd been driving for since I was distracted by the beautiful landscape. The driver exited the car and opened the doors for us. We then boarded a small boat that took us to a small island in the middle of the canal?

"May I?" Alicia pointed at my hand. It was hard to stay mad at her, so I just smiled and nodded. She grinned as she interlaced our fingers. "This is Granville Island." It was an artsy island that I loved. We toured the different galleries, ate chocolates, and watched the buskers. We ate dinner at a seafood restaurant where we both ordered fish. After dinner, we topped off our day with ice cream before heading to the hotel.

Alicia opened the door to a massive suite. I expected nothing less from her. What I did notice was that there was only one king sized bed in the room. Alicia directed the bell boy to place the luggage in various parts of the room. She then gave him a tip that looked like a few hundred dollars. She then texted her sisters to inform them of her arrival. Alicia then released a huge sigh, tossed her phone onto the bed, and then fell backwards onto it. I was still awkwardly standing in the middle of the room. Why couldn't she have asked for two beds or something?! All we've done is kiss!

"Heyo! I'm gonna go take a shower." She informed me before walking into the bathroom. I replied back something incoherent since I was having a mini panic attack. How am I gonna sleep with that goddess next to me?! Maybe I'll take the couch. I mean it is pretty comfy. I lied down as I thought over how I should handle this situation. My overthinking must've tired me out because the next thing I knew, I was out.

I turned my head and buried myself deeper under the covers because of the sunlight shining through. Ahhhhhhh! So so comfy. Wait a second! My eyes popped open. I have no recollection of climbing into the bed. I fell asleep on the couch. Awhhncjjskuebch!!! I slowly turned over to see a peaceful Alicia. Her eyes were still closed while her lips were slightly parted. She breathed ever so softly that you had to strain your ears. She was so gorgeous with her blond hair draped over her face. I smiled as I drank in her features. And then gay panic set in. I tried to move away from her, but didn't realize I was on the edge of the bed.

"Ack!" I thumped onto the ground. I heard shuffling on the bed before Alicia peered down at me.

"Are you okay?" She worriedly asked me.

"Yep." I quickly stood up. "Just didn't realize that- hey! It's so bright out. The sun is shining and it's incredibly yellow. Did you ever- you know what? I'm gonna go take a shower and get ready and ya..." I darted into the bathroom. I tried to take as long as possible to get ready as a way to buy time. I couldn't hide in there any longer, so I exited to find carts of food waiting for me. The cloches were still on the dishes. Alicia noticed me and hung up the phone.

"That was my sister telling me Ryder's time slot and now that you're here... we can eat." She took off the metal covers.

"You didn't eat yet?"

"No. I wanted to wait for you even though I've been waiting for 45 minutes." She laughed whereas I felt bad. "Are you okay though? I mean you did fall." She stuck a strawberry in her mouth.

"Ya. I was just... how'd I get in the bed? I could've sworn I was on the couch."

"Oh ya. I got out the shower and saw that you were fast asleep. I didn't know if you did that on purpose or accidentally so I picked you up and brought you to the bed." She shrugged her shoulders.

"You picked me up?" I waved my finger between the both of us.

"You're not heavy." She chuckled briefly before her expression changed. "You were uncomfortable this morning. I should've realized that it wasn't the smartest idea. Sorry." She sheepishly looked down.

"No. That's not it." I grabbed her hands. "I was just caught off guard. The bed was way comfier." Alicia gave me a tight lipped smile. That was when I knew something was up. "Hey! Why are you so tense? You don't seem like your usual self."

"I just want to make it up to you." She whispered. Awww. "And I'm completely out of my element and doing the best I can, but it's obviously not-" I silenced her with a kiss. "I'm rambling. And here I am stealing your thing." She gave her real smile. I smiled at her before connecting our lips again.

"That's all I wanted. Just for you to try. Now, what time is the event?"

It was packed at the competition. Alicia bought me a scarf, hat, and gloves since it was freezing. I bought her hot coco in return. We spotted her sisters and Chico, but avoided them like the plague. Gemma was clutching onto Chico while he gave her sweet forehead kisses. I wonder if Alicia and I will ever be able to do that in public. Zara had on her signature RBF and glared daggers at any guy who dared approach her. I swear at one point she was going to throw her hot chocolate on a guy who couldn't take a hint. Chico must've seen this since he put his arm around her shoulders. Gemma grabbed her hands and said something to Zara that made her calm down.

"He's next." Alicia pointed at the big screen. Ryder waved at everyone before jumping onto the halfpipe. "He claims that he has a special move at the end." She whispered. I watched with bated breath as Ryder would go upside down, spin, and twist. I was so scared that he was gonna crack his head open. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was nervous. I caught a glimpse of Zara's worried face. Chico had his arms around the twins as they watched through their fingers. Zara jumped at one point when Ryder almost hit his head on the halfpipe. Chico stood there intently watching as he rubbed both of the twins' backs. Ryder then did his special move called a backside quad cork or something. I forget what Alicia called it. He landed it and we all erupted in cheers. He punched the air in victory. The twins and Chico ran up to him. Zara reached him first and engulfed him in a hug. Ryder dropped his board as he spun her around in his arms. When he placed her back on the ground, she pulled him in and kissed him. Ryder was obviously shocked and just stood there. She pulled away smirking and clapping her hands. Gemma then embraced him as did Chico. Ryder could barely react since he was still trying to process what just happened with Zara.

"She better hope this doesn't get back to dad." Alicia mumbled as her eyes roamed over all the different broadcasters. "I'll congratulate him another time. They're probs gonna party with champagne, but I'd like to take you somewhere."

"I'm excited." I smiled at her.
