*Authors Note:
Well, well, well....Eva and her family seems to have a secret. And it involves Lars too. Hmmm...keep on reading. I'll be adding what the tattoo looks like once our girl Brielle finds it on Lars. Also, I wanted to make their first date perfect, so....I'm splitting it into 2 parts! Like, share, vote!
*Brielle POV
I walk out of my room to Eva and Lars standing in the doorway. Trying to hide the butterflies in my stomach, I smile brightly.
"Hi Lars!"
His slight smirk turns my stomach upside down. "Hello Brielle. You look breathtaking."
I smile sheepishly and tuck my hair back looking down.
Lars clears his throat and holds out his arm, signaling for me to link arms with me. I smile inside at his cute gesture.
He opens the car door for me, and I slid into the sleek black car. Once he's in the drivers seat, he looks over at me with a devilish hint in his eye, "hold on tight," he warns before taking off, squealing the tires onto the street.
I giggle before asking, "so where are we going?"
That same devilish hint sparks in his eye and infamous smirk appears on his face. "If I told you, that would take away the fun of it all, wouldn't it?"
A thrill shoots thru my spine, and I know anything this man does will always make me feel this way.
Minutes later and we pull over. I look up at the giant building we are in front of.
The Empire State Building.
He smiles, "you ever see all of the city at once?"
I smile back and shake my head.
"Well you're about to."
Lars opens my door and holds his hand out. Gently I place my hand in his, and tingles shoot around my body as he protectively and possessively holds my hand tight.

86 floors on the elevator later, and we finally reach the observation deck. Not letting go of my hand, we walk out into the cool summer night.
"Oh my god," I gasp at the view in front of me.
Lars smirks, "pretty amazing, isn't it?"
"This is incredible," I answer.
As Lars gazes out towards the city he speaks, "I come here when I need to think, or to get away from everything."
"I can tell why," I say, still mesmerized. "There's something I absolutely love about all the lights of a city at night time."
We spend some time looking down at the city, and the people that look like ants. We joke around a bit and before I know it, Lars says, "you ready for our next stop?"
I nod excitedly. How could this night possibly get any better?
We stop in front of a gorgeous, packed restaurant. "I hope you like sushi," Lars teases, before helping me out of the car like before.
Walking hand in hand, we enter the restaurant, being greeted right away by the overly friendly hostess. I mean, he's gorgeous, of course she flirts with him. I roll my eyes, but Lars catches me and cockily smirks.
"Table for 2," Lars says.
"Do you have a reservation?" The hostess asks.
"I'm sorry, let me try this again. Moretti, table for 2 please." His voice darkens.
I shutter, and quickly get nerves, thinking we may be asked to leave.
The hostess' face goes pale and she gulps visibly.
'What the actual hell?' I think to myself.
"Of course, sir. Let me just get a table ready for you. For the inconvenient wait, please, you and your date enjoy a free drink at the bar."

I'm baffled at the reaction of the hostess, but try to brush it aside.
Lars nods his head, and leads me to the bar.
The bartender serves him a glass of top shelf whiskey and then pours me a glass of champagne. When he walks away, Lars turns towards me and raises his glass.
"To the first of hopefully many dates."
I blush at his toast and clink glasses with him.
Before we can even take a sip, our table is ready and we are sat immediately with multiple servers surrounding us, ready to cater to any need.
"Well, this sure is first class service," I joke.
Lars laughs slightly, "it better be. The owner owes me everything he has, including his success. So tell me about you, why'd you leave home?"
"I mean, I love home, Charleston is great, but I never quite fit in there."
He tilts his head, "that makes no sense. You seem like you would fit in with any crowd.
What do you mean?"
I smile, giggling a little. "Well I'm not a Lily Pulitzer, Kate Spade, or Jack Rodgers wearing girl who wanted to be in a sorority and become the perfect wife with the perfect house and white picket fence. The majority of the girls there are that way. And the guys, well....let's just say they're douche bags."
I quickly put my hand to my mouth, shocked at what I had just said to this extremely successful and refined man.
Lars laughs loudly at my actions. "I've never laughed as hard as I have since I've met you."
"Why thank you, I like to think I'm entertaining."
He laughs again before clearing his throat, "so why New York?"
"Well, honestly. I think it's just the place for fresh starts. There's so many new people, so many new things, you can be the person you want to be and anything is possible."
He smiles genuinely, "that's a great answer."
"So did you grow up here?" I ask.
"Yeah, born and raised. My grandparents came here from Italy and raised my parents here."
"Ah, Italian. Now I understand the last name," I joke. "Are you close with your family?"
He nods sharply, "very. How about you?"
I nod as well, "my parents are my saviors. They've helped me through everything in life. They're even helping pay for my apartment here so I can afford to live in a safe and fun area."
"Sound like great parents. This city can be...dangerous," he comments.
Our conversation is interrupted by the servers, delivering our outrageous amount of sushi.
I laugh as I look at all of it, "oh my gosh, this is a crazy amount of sushi! So not necessary...there's no way I can eat all of this."
"You think this is for you?! No way this is all mine. You're on your own," he teases, snapping his chopsticks together.
(Sorry, literally HAD to use this gif)
I giggle, not knowing how I got so lucky to end up on a date with this gorgeous man.

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!

Memoirs of A Healer/Clinical Social Worker: Autobiography of Bruce Whealton
A loving spouse. A healer. How does this person cope with evil villains willing to destroy everything? They convicted the victim... now how does the victim goes on with life as a healer? As the book opens, I was in a psychiatric hospital following a suicide attempt in December 2019. What starts as a simple conversation with another patient changed my life. Most of the rest of the book tells the reader how I got to this point. I experienced profound injustice between 2004 and 2006. By opening with a story about suicide, I want the reader to understand that the injustice was not just something that happened long ago. This book is an account of all the accomplishments and successes that I had in overcoming tremendous odds and challenges. Growing up, I was paralyzed by shyness and lacked social skills, and so the idea of becoming a psychotherapist never occurred to me when I went off to college. I learned that I could overcome those limitations. I wanted to bring that hope and healing to others. Activities like that make life meaningful and bring me joy. The reasons why I was suicidal in 2019 were set in motion in 2000 when a meteor would come crashing down upon the life that I had built leaving me powerless to do anything other than watching everything burn to ashes - the home that I had, the life I had known, the love I had, my career, everything would disappear almost as if it never existed. In that one the year 2000, I could not imagine things could get any worse. But the nightmare would continue for the next few years... culminating in a suicide attempt in 2019. Now, I am connecting with others, building relationships, and finding a reason to live again. I am writing my own story of my life. I will fight against the injustice of the past and offer my gifts to the world. I have so much to offer. I have quite a story to tell. I hope you will help me to move on with my life.
