《Pistols and Petals - TH》•8•

"Morning" I say to tom as he pours his cup of coffee. He doesn't even look at me, he just walks out of the room.
"What's wrong with him?" I ask haz who was sitting next to me.
"It's been two months since Derek died" he says.
"Who was Derek?" I ask.
"He was here before both of us. He was trained by dom and he basically helped tom get to where he is today, all of us. He was a really good guy" haz says and I frown.
"I'm sorry my sister.. you know" I say and he nods.
"Not like it's your fault" he says. "You barely know her"
"I know.. but I might not be his favorite face to see today, considering we're twins" I say.
"Actually, you're probably the best person for him to see today" he says, scrolling through his phone.
"How's that?" I ask.
"I don't know if it's cause you're a girl or because he's protecting you or some shit but he goes all... soft for you. Soft for tom anyways." He shrugs.
Hmm.
I make him soft.
I smile at his words and get on my phone to see I have a text.
I figure it's probably one of my friends. Must not be an important one though if I don't have their number. So I ignore the text.
"What's toms favorite dessert?" I ask haz and he thinks for a moment.
"Yanno when we were kids we use to make these cookies that was chocolate chip base, and we'd put marshmallows in em and like random shit we found in the cupboards and force everyone to eat them. They were absolutely terrible" he laughs. "But id say chocolate chip cookies, warm"
I loved hearing about little innocent thinks tom and haz would do. How could such normal kids grow up to do such awful things?

"Well lucky for him I'm an amazing baker" I smile, going to the kitchen.
I love baking, and in a kitchen this big? This is a dream.

"Hey hands off" I say slapping Harrison's hand away as he reaches for a cookie.
"Rude" he frowns.
"Tom needs them more than you do" I say, putting them on a plate.
I turn around for two seconds and turn back to see haz taking one off the plate and running to the other side of the room.
"Haz!" I yell at him as he shoves the cookie in his mouth.
"Holy shit these are so good" He muffles as he chews.
"No more" I say, grabbing the plate.
I make my way up the stairs and to his office.
I figure today's a good day to try knocking.
I knock on the door and get a throaty "come in"
I open the door and he raises an eyebrow at me.
"So you knock now?" He asks.
"Thought I'd try it out" I shrug. "I made you some cookies"
"Y-you made me cookies?" He asks looking almost in disbelief.
"Umm yeah?" I say setting the plate down.
"That's really nice of you" he says.
He's probably not use to more than a 'yes sir' and 'morning sir' on the regular. People around here aren't nice to him, they respect him. He doesn't get this too often.
"Haz told me you use to add marshmallows and shit, figured this was a better alternative" I laugh.
"They're so good" he mumbles as he bites into the cookie.
He seems to feel a little better than earlier, but how can he possibly feel better if he only ever lets his emotions out through anger.
*toms pov*
The fact that I blatantly ignored Olivia earlier, and she went out of her way to do something nice for me is almost unheard of in this house. And I'm not use to it.

"My baking tends to make people feel just a little bit better" she smiles.
"Well it definitely works for me" I say.
I look down at what she was wearing. It was a red sweatshirt and shorts. That sweatshirt looks all too familiar.
"Are you wearing my sweatshirt?" I ask and she looks down at it.
"I don't know it was in my room" she says. "Sorry I'll go change.
"No it's fine, looks better on you anyways" I say.
Although it would look better off, cause I'm pretty sure she's not wearing a shirt under there.
Shit. Stop thinking like that. She's not a hookup. Shes under your protection.
"Umm, the men and I have this.. tradition I guess you could call it. We caught Larson. Figured we'd celebrate, there's a bar we really like to go to, you could come-"
"Yeah sounds fun" she smiles. "Beats sitting around here worrying all the time"
"Great, I'll see you later then" I say as she goes to leave.
"Thanks for the cookies!" I holler at her as she walks out.
