《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 57

Dash's POV
"Elaborate." I spoke as I leaned more into my seat.
"I'm a hybrid werewolf and her mother is a witch, back in our time we were not allowed to mate with creatures that weren't our kind but Elena and I went against all odds and got secretly married, it was a well kept secret till Rosalie was born." He sighed. "She had red hair and amber eyes which was an abomination in the witch community and she was supposed to be offered as a sacrifice to protect them from their goddess's wrath."
"So what is Rosalie?"
"A hybrid werewitch."
"That's an actual thing." I laughed shaking my head. There was so much I had yet to learn about the supernatural world.
"Yes, she's an offspring of a hybrid werewolf and a red witch."
"So just because she had red hair she was supposed to be sacrificed, was there no one born with red hair who wasn't a werewolf." I scoffed at their primitive thinking.
"It was that and the fact that she was a white witch."
"You know what I've heard quite a lot today, can we pick this up tomorrow." I stated feeling mentally tired. "I have to digest everything."
"I understand." He nodded.
"Before we go, why isn't my blood work on her?"
"It's not working." His eyes went wide.
"Yes, it worked on Cage but not on her."
"We need to get my wife here right now, something isn't right." He got up quickly.
"No shit." I got up grabbing my car keys.
We rushed out of the house and got into the car without telling anyone. I drove as fast as I could till we reached the end of the road.
"We walk the rest of the way." Damon told me as he got out of the car.
Getting a blade and tucking it in my boot I got out of the car and followed him through the dark woods. It was past midnight and nothing but the sound of wind, crickets and brunches breaking beneath us could be heard.

After walking for about 30 minutes we came to a small yet beautiful cabin.
"Heads up Elena does not like you." He informed as we walked past two guards who bowed their heads as we walked into the house.
"Damon!" A woman probably in her 30's run flung herself into his arms and broke into tears. "I thought you weren't coming back."
"Mi amore." He buried his head in the crook of her neck and hugged her tightly.
They pulled away and he kissed her passionately.
"I missed you, mi amore." He told her while caressing her cheek and she leaned into his touch before her expression changed to one of anger when her icy blue eyes landed on me.
"So you don't bring back our daughter but him." She smacked him and he groaned.
"Elena relax." He tried to calm her but she wasn't taking it, she kept rumbling and hitting him.
"Rosalie is in a comma and not responding to anything." I spoke making her stop talking.
"What do you mean comma." She glared. "What the hell did you do to her!"
"Not me, the psychopath that had her gave her some poison and it sent her into a comma." I spoke.
"What of his blood." She turned to Damon.
"It's not working either apparently." He sighed.
"Let me get my bag." She hurried up the stairs and in a few minutes came back with a bag in her hands. "Let's go."
Not waiting for our response she started out the door.
"And I thought you had attitude." I huffed.
"Should she hear you, you're on your own." I rose his hands in surrender and we made our way back to the car.
The ride home was quiet but quick. The second I pulled over near the house my mother was there waiting for me with a worried yet angry expression on her face.

"How could you leave without informing me!" she bellowed. "What if something happened to you?"
"Relax mum, nothing happened." I shook my head as I got out of the car.
"Evita?" Elena quizzed after getting out of the car.
"Elena." My mother's already wide eyes became even wider as her gaze fell on Elena who stood beside Damon.
"My goodness!" they squealed and hugging each other.
"Can we do this reunion later, my daughter is in a bloody comma." Damon pointed out.
"Right." They said and pulled away.
"Show me to her." Elena requested.
Without hesitation my mother led the way to Rosalie's room where we found Dorothy checking her pulse rate.
"I've been looking for you." She snapped at my mother. "She had a seizer that I managed to stop but her temperature and pulse rate are spiking."
She panicked replacing the dump cloth on Rosalie's head with another one.
Elena and my mother rushed to her side.
"Get my bag." Elena ordered and I rushed to the car returning with her bag.
They did everything they could and finally her body was back to normal.
"She's stable but this won't last long." Elena stated.
"Why is her body rejecting his blood?" Damon asked completely confused. "It's supposed to have worked."
"After you realized she was given poison did you give her anything?" she asked looking at me.
"Yes, I gave her my blood." I stated. "Alpha blood neutralizes poison after all."
"Then what happened."
"She was having a seizer but after I gave it to her she stopped and then it was like she fell asleep."
"Did you find out what poison it was?" She asked opening her placing her bag on the stool and opening it.
"No, I've never seen it before." My mother and Dorothy answered at the same time.
"Show it to me." She ordered and Dorothy rushed out returning with a container with fluid.
"We pumped it out of her when she was brought in."
Quickly Elena opened the container and smelt it. Her eyes went wide and her breathe quickened.
"Damon." She panicked.
"What is it?" He grabbed the container and upon inhaling the substance his expression matched that of Elena.
"Fuck!" He run a hand through his hair.
"What the hell is going on!" I panicked not knowing if how bad the situation was.
"The poison he gave her is rouge claw, when administered in small doses it's supposed to weaken a wolf but judging by how concentrated it is he gave her a very high dose, too high I don't know how much damage it has caused or if it can even be fixed." She spoke worriedly.
"I don't get it-" Dorothy stated.
Before anyone could respond Rosalie started having a seizer and her body started emitting heat waves.
"Is the baby going to be ok?" I asked thinking of my daughter.
"That's the problem." Elena snapped her fingers as though realizing something. "The baby is killing her."
"What do you mean?" Damon and asked at the same time.
"Chances that her wolf is still alive are close to zero hence her body is no longer conducive enough for the baby."
"So her temperature and heart rate are spiking because it's trying to make her body conducive again." Dorothy finished finally understanding.
"Yes, if we want to save her we need to remove the baby."

A Nation of Distances (possibly a dystopian love story)
Michael lives in a toxic macho world with extreme male hierarchy. When he gets a weird rating that makes his place even more problematic he's forced to choose a fiancée at a Wife School, and he slowly discovers more about the other side of the great divide between the sexes in The Nation. If only the world would stop being so complicated... On the other side there's Megan, who's more interested in books than in marriage, and the unpredictable Eliza who seems to have a connection with Micheal already. Will they be able to cross the distance and become friends against all the rules of their own world, or will they just be crushed? Are positive relationships between men and women even possible? And is there a way to change the world or is that just a naive thought of a silly wimp? 'A Nation of Distances' is a slightly dystopian dialogue-heavy drama set in a low sci-fi future setting about the war between the sexes, disconnect and friendship. The genre will fluctuate in between more slice-of-life parts and soft sci-fi drama with possible romantic elements, with alternating lead and switching perspectives once more of the main characters are established. Content Warning: Certain concepts and scenes might be disturbing and/or triggering to some, even though the story itself won't be extremely heavy most of the time. Sexism as a double-edged sword destructive to both sexes is an important part of the story, but so is friendship.Note that all descriptions of persons and places are purely fictional and made up by the writer, and any resemblance with anything in the real world is a coincidence, since the real world is not supposed to be dystopian anyway!
