Dash's POV

"What the fuck are you rumbling on about?" I groaned getting frustrated, it's like I was disturbing his train of thought.

"You never get this worked up over small issues or literally anything at all, I threatened to rip your guts out and you didn't even move a damn muscle."

"Get to the fucking point or leave me alone." He mumbled still pacing about.

"You're her father, aren't you?" the second I asked he came to a halt and stared at me face covered with perplexity for a second before it went blank with emotion.

"You don't know what you are talking about." He run a hand through sighing.

"But I do Damon, those eyes of yours are just like hers don't even get me started on your attitude that somehow my son has managed to get, it's no wonder you've kept asking about her, you know every bloody thing about her, me and everyone else around her." I insisted, he was bluffing and I wasn't going to leave till he told me the truth.

"You don't know what you are talking about." He growled again. "You are mistaking me for someone else."

"That's where you have it wrong, I know exactly who you are."

"Then your ass wouldn't be here asking me damn questions if you had all your facts straight." I declared. "Fine let's make a deal, tell me the truth and I'll let you out."

"I'm not stupid pup, you won't free me." He scoffed.

"I have nothing to hold you here for, I know you won't hurt either Rose, Cage or the baby." I shrugged honestly. I was not bluffing at all, I meant every word. "You are not a threat Damon."

"You think you have it all figured out huh pup." He mocked. "You know nothing."

"But I know who you are and why you wanted to save them." I pointed out smugly.

"That's right but do you know who you are."

"I'm Dash Kingston, son of Titus Kingston and Evita Collins, alpha to my people."

"First figure out who you are then come lecture me on who I am." He told me.

"I already told you, I know who I am."

"Far from it, you know nothing of who you really are." He shook his head. "You think sacred markings just appear out of the blues and on any one."

"You are so uncooperative, even when your freedom is on the line." I scoffed getting up. "I'll come back and ask you again later, maybe then you'll cooperate."

"Better come back with answers on who you are." He responded. "Ask your mother, she might know something."

"Great talk." I got up and headed for the door.

"Think about it pup, you never had those markings." He said after me but I dared not turn and entertain him anymore.

I slammed the door shut and this time went to see Rosalie, she had so many cables and tubes connected to her body, it was depressing to see her like that.

"Hey Rosy." I placed a kiss on her forehead before taking a seat beside her bed. "Hey baby girl." I placed my hand over her swollen belly and immediately I felt the baby kick. "Happy to see daddy yeah." I smiled. "Well I missed you even more mi amore."

I talked to them for a little while before the doctor walked in to check on them and ensure everything was stable.

"How's she doing?" I asked staring at the middle aged woman who apparently just happened to be my mother's younger sister, making her my aunt.

"Nothing's changed and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing." I responded while removing the empty bag of water connected to the tube on Rosalie's arm with a new one.

"And the baby?" I held my breathe hoping she was going to give a positive response.

"You're baby has to be one of the strongest ones I've seen yet." She smiled and I sighed with relief. "Want to see what she looks like?"

"I'd love to." I answered quickly.

She moved to get the equipment.

"Kindly move her hospital gown up for me." She instructed and I did as told.

Squirting a thick colorless gel on Rosalie's stomach before getting the ultrasound device and moving it around. She continued to move the device against her stomach when all of a sudden a certain sound filled the room.

"That's her heart beat." She told me and I couldn't help the big smile that formed on my face. "A very strong one might I add."

When we finished checking the baby, she took pictures of it and told me she would give them to me when she printed them out.

"Thank you." I smiled as I held the sonogram in my hands. "She's beautiful."

"Wait till you see her after birth." She pointed out with a smile on her face. "I still remember the first time my mate laid his eyes on our daughter." Her smile grew even more as she reminisced over the moment she would never forget. "I've never seen him stare at anyone the way he did Hanna, for the first time he cried, he had never cried before, not even when his parents died but with her it was different it was like she broke every guard he had up."

"You think that will happen to me too?" I asked.

"I don't think so, I know so." She smiled. "Evita told me that you never got a chance to be with Cage as a baby but she'll be your chance to do over."

"Thanks Dorothy." I flashed her a small yet genuinely grateful smile.

We stayed in silence for a while when she spoke again.

"You two must have been so madly in love to even get matching tattoos."

"What?" I looked at her confused.

"That tattoo on your neck, she has it too on back." She turned Rosalie's body enough for me to see the tattoo, indeed they were the same.

"Where's my mother?" I asked remembering Damon's words.

"She should be either with Cage or on the library, it's like someone cast a spell for her to love that place so much." She playfully rolled her eyes.

"Thanks." I placed a kiss on Rosalie's forehead before moving to her belly. "Bye princess, daddy will be back later." I kissed her stomach.

I hated leaving them but I had to find out something that seemed to not make any sense.

Getting up from the chair I bid Dorothy farewell and went ahead to look for my mother who I found in the library, her round reading glasses were perched on her the tip of her nose as she buried herself in an old dusty book while others were scattered on the table in front of her.

"Mum." I called causing her to look up from the book and look at me.

After having rescued Rosalie and Cage, we were too busy to even talk about anything that didn't revolve around them but it was high time her and I had a one on one talk concerning a lot of things I never quite really understood and always brushed off like they were nothing.

"Yes, is there something wrong?" She asked.

"We need to talk."
