《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 44

Dash's POV
Opening my eyes all my senses came back along with flashbacks of what transpired earlier.
"We need to find her." Scar clawed desperately inside me.
"I know."
Leaving my office and making my way to Rosalie's house I met Shaun who stared angrily at me.
"If you're going to her house she still isn't there." He stated.
"I'll have-"
"No need, while you were busy throwing your tantrum I had some warriors start the search for both her and Cage." He glared daggers at me. "I hope you really did have no hand in their disappearance."
"I did go to her house but not to hurt her or anything of the sort." I sighed confiding in one of the people I knew for sure would actually help me find them. "I went there to apologize, we talked and I slept there, earlier today we talked at breakfast before I left, we had no argument whatsoever if anything we had a civil conversation."
"Did she hint on leaving?" His voice was calmer now.
"No." I shook my head. "We talked about doing what's best for Cage and the baby coming, she even agreed to have me escort her to her first doctors appointment in a few weeks."
"And her clothes are still intact meaning she didn't leave." He furrowed his eyebrows trying to piece two and two together.
"Also Cage wasn't with her, Evita took him with her." I remembered she Rosalie had told me earlier when I asked.
"She says she took him back this morning and had a few words with her before leaving." Shaun told me.
"I'm going back to her house, if she left or something else happened I'll know."
"I'm coming with you." Together we made our way to her house and searched it making sure no stone was left unturned.
Our search was fruitless and we sat staring at each other.

"So her clothes and everything else is still her, no one saw her leave." I ran a hand through my hair pacing back and forth. "Evita says she came here obviously and barely an hour later she and Cage went missing."
"That's just about right." Angelo who had joined us a while back confirmed the information we had gathered.
The search party hadn't detected either her's nor Cage's scent anywhere near the territory which was strange, their scents were supposed to be sensed faint or strong.
"This doesn't add up." I shook my head.
"Ya think." Shaun sassed.
"If Evita came here after me, then her scend should have also been picked up." I stated when I realized only my scent was in the house. "Plus both Rosalie and Cage were here as well, we should have been able to pick up their scents."
Sniffing the air their eyes widened with realization.
"How did this skip us?" Angelo furrowed his eyebrows.
"My scent should have faded by now also why can't I pick up your scents either." I frowned.
Still trying to figure everything out one of the pack house guards came in.
"Alpha, beta, gamma." He bowed.
"What is it Brawn." I glared getting irritated.
"It's the grand alpha, his requesting your presence in his chambers urgently." He told me.
"I'm busy." I waved my hand dismissing him.
"The werewolf council is with him." Brawn told me.
"The werewolf council?" Shaun repeated.
"Yes and they want the alpha immediately." He nodded.
"Ok, I'm on my way." I nodded dismissing him.
Bowing curtly he left.
"Werewolf council." Angelo frowned. "You know it's trouble whenever they are here."
"What do they even want." Shaun scowled.
"I better go and find out." Chuckling I picked my jacket that was laying on the floor. "Mind link me should anything new come up."

"Maybe I should come with you." Angelo had worry written all over his face.
"No I need you here helping Shaun, we need to find Rosalie and my son as soon as possible, it's far more important."
Assuring them I was going to be fine I left going to my father's chambers were the old council men sat.
"Alpha Dash." They greeted.
"Elders." I forced a smile.
The room went quiet as my father and I stared at each other his hatred for me more evident now than before.
"To what do I owe this late unexpected visit." My gaze was now fixed on Ackerly Bastet the head of the council.
"There isn't need for us to waste either yours or our time." He straightened his back clasping his hands. "The council has been informed of all your misdeeds."
I glanced at my father who had a glint of amusement swimming in his orbs.
"It has also been brought to our attention that you Alpha Dash have a hand in your mates disappear, word has it you killed both her and your son."
"I haven't killed anyone." I told them flatly.
"Your scent is evident in her house discarding the possibility of her running away." My father spoke in a formal manner. "Rendering you the only suspect."
"I didn't do anything to her." I raked my hair frustrated. "Yes I went to her house but not to hurt her."
"You've hurt her more than once alpha, how sure are we you haven't repeated your cruelty yet again." He pressed making sure I was guilty.
"I know I've hurt her before but I swear it wasn't me." I pleaded wishing someone believed me.
"You do have a tendency of inflicting pain on those who challenge your authority, just look at what you did to your brother Ericson." He clenched his jaw obviously thinking about how I hurt his precious little son.
"Your son and Rosalie are two different people." I retorted bitterly.
"Last I checked you unleash your cruelty on all your perpetrators."
"Alpha you have 24 hours to prove your innocence failure to which drastic measures will be taken upon you." Ackerly stated breaking both my father and myself. "But in the mean time you are relieved from all your duties as alpha."
"You can't do that!" I growled.
"We just did alpha." He got up from his seat. "You have 24 hours make them count."
The council members left and my father followed behind.
I was angry at him but decided not to act on impulse and worsen my situation.
Leaving the chambers I made my way back to Shaun and Angelo.
I was going to focus all my energy on finding Rosalie, Cage and my unborn child.
Making a left turn I bumped into Lucinda.
"Hi." I sighed raking my hair back. I hadn't talked to her after Rosalie's outburst.
"Hi." She frowned. Her eyes were all red and puffy signalling she had been crying.
"Lucinda I'm really sorry." An apology came out of my mouth causing her jaw to drop from shock.
"Y-you're apologizing t-to me?" She stuttered with wide eyes.
"Yes, I shouldn't have dragged you into my messy life or use and lie to you." I told her sincerely.
Yes just like myself Lucinda wasn't perfect but that gave me no right to do what I did to her and it left me feeling guilty.
"I know my apology won't fix what's broken or take away your pain but I just want you to know I'm really very sorry for everything I've ever put you through."

Yes I'm starting from the second because the first was an utter failure when I tried to write it, it just didn't fit the mood of a fantasy novel unlike this one. Though don't worry this doesn't mean you can't enjoy this one before I write the first. This is the first story I've actually published so I appreciate any feedback, be it good or bad just let me know what you think.
