《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 39

Dash's POV
As though marking Rosalie by accident and having to find a way to remove the mark without killing her wasn't stressful enough my mother appeared out of nowhere and ever since then every day keeps getting worse than the previous.
At this point even seeing Cage smile wasn't making me as happy as before.
Today out of the blues my father and Elizabeth called a meeting which of course my mother stormed into claiming she needed to be present as it concerned me, her son.
The meeting was about me chosing a mate within a time range of 2 weeks or I would be stripped off my alpha title and it would be given to Ericson instead.
I didn't even get a chance to say a thing as Evita and her short temper beat me to it claiming it was absurd. The meeting took a quick turn into a heated argument between all 3 adults not caring if they all killed each other I left only to be followed by Evita.
My mother and I couldn't ever have a civil conversation even if she tried, she claimed to have my best interest at heart but all I could see was her taking every chance she could to make my father suffer.
As expected our civil conversation was an epic fail as we ended up having a heated argument that involved an exchange of many hurtful and vulgar words.
Anger clouded my senses and it only became worse when I found out about the lunch meeting Elizabeth had called to order from Lucinda whom I had bumped into shorty after storming away from my mother.
Grabbing Lucinda's hand we walked into the dinning room where everyone was seated. Taking our seats food was served and I tried to swallow the mashed potatoes I had put in my mouth without chocking as my oesophagus was constricted as a result of my rage that only increased with Ericson's taunts.

When Penelope asked what Elizabeth what she wanted to tell everyone.
She tried stalling but Penelope wasn't having it.
Thinking I knew exactly what she was to say I beat her to it saying I was going to mate Lucinda. My plan was to create a facade that would buy me some time to figure out a solution to all my problems but had I know it would get this messy I wouldn't have thought twice.
My mother was first clearly angry on the fact that I was going against her will land letting my father win instead of her.
I didn't care much with her but when Rosalie stormed towards me I knew I was done for especially when she showed everyone my mark on her neck and stated she was pregnant.
"What do you mean you are pregnant." My thoughts where scrambled in my head as I tried hard to focus on what she had said.
"I'm sure you know how babies are made alpha." She scoffed angrily.
"Dash it can't be true." Lucinda told me but I focused only on Rosalie.
"Believe it sweetheart, I'm carrying my mates child." She smirked standing only inches away from her.
Now angry Lucinda pushed her with full force but I caught her in time.
"Are you fucking insane!" I bellowed wanting nothing but to hurt her. "What if she gets hurt!"
"Don't act like you care now." Rosalie slipped out of my arms. "You were more than will to let me die for that."
"Rosalie stop." I spoke taking a cautious step towards her but she moved away.
"No, you stop being so selfish for once in your life!" She yelled. "All you ever think about is yourself, others feelings have never mattered to you!"
"That's not true." I clenched my fists at her words knowing they were false. "I cared about you!"

"You never cared." She scoffed. "And had I realized it earlier I swear I wouldn't have let your pathetic sorry ass ruin my life!"
I had heard alot today and I didn't need this so I decided to just walk away but she stopped me.
"Scared of the truth are you now." She taunted. "Get back here and face me you bastard."
Something inside me snapped at the word bastard and in a blink of an eye my hand was wrapped around her throat. Her breath was shallow but her glare was firm.
"Shut up before I fucking hurt you." I growled trying to contain my anger.
"Go ahead, it won't be your first."
At her statement I let her go but she didn't back down.
"Go ahead Dash, hurt me, hurt me just like last time!"
"Rosalie calm down." Angelo tried only to add more fuel to the flames.
"You shut up and stay out of this." Her voice was dark. "He's going to hear me out today."
"I'm not doing this with you today." I shook my head.
"Do you even ever feel guilty for how you riped my innocence away." Her voice broke as tears fell from her eyes. "Did you even actually love me."
"I loved you more than life itself Rosalie Blake." I spoke fighting off the memories of her betrayal."
"No you didn't, you don't know what love is Dash Kingston, you never have and I was foolish enough to miss the signs." She harshly wiped off the tears with the back of her hand. "I cared and dedicated my life to you only to be thrown out like a worthless rag in return."
"You were the one who cheated on me!" I yelled getting emotional. "You threw my love away."
"Did you once stop and listen to my side of the story, that's right no." She took deep breaths. "If you did love me you would have listened instead of forcing yourself on me."
"I didn't mean to do it." I shook my head.
"I don't care anymore, I'm tired of always having to be the bigger person with you, I'm tired of pretending that I'm ok with the way you treat me like garbage when I'm not and overall I'm tired of blaming myself for each and every mishap in my life when it was all your fault!" She poked my chest with every word. "I'm fed up with you, you've ruined my life, making feel me insecure and dirty, dating you is the worst thing I ever did to myself."
"Don't say that!" I snapped.
"Dash Kingston I swear I regret ever having met you!" She screamed on top of her lungs.
"Shut up!" I held my hands to my ears not wanting to hear her anymore.
"I'm done Dash, I'm done with you and your manipulations." She was now standing barely an inch away her eyes staring into mine. "I Rosalie Kimberly Blake-"
"No, don't do it please." I whispered holding her to my chest but she pushed me away.
"It's your turn to suffer." She spat bitterly. "I'm done with you, I no longer care you can rot for all I care."
With those words she walked out of the room and I watched her with my glossy eyes.
I knew this day was going to come but I didn't think it would hurt as much as it did.
Not wanting to break down infront of everyone I run to my office which was nearest and locked the door before breaking down.

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
