《The Last Lycan Alpha King》Chapter 24

Rosalie's POV
"Daddy!" Cage jumped out of my arms running to his father who lifted him.
"Hello champ." Dash smiled ruffling his hair.
"Hey!" He huffed ruffling his father's hair too and they both laughed. I wanted to be happy for both but something inside wasn't letting me instead all I felt was jealousy.
"Daddy aunty Pen told me you are going to save aunty Mars." He grinned.
"Did she." He chuckled.
"Yes, so when I grow older and become big and strong like you I'll also be saving people." His eyes shown bright when he added the last words. "Just like you."
"I'll look forward to seeing that little alpha." Dash smiled proudly and I couldn't help but scoff.
"What?" Cage turned to me with an annoyed expression clouding his cute face.
"Nothing baby." I forced a smile, he knew I was lying but just let it go.
"Let's go home champ." Dash stated completely disregarding my presence.
"Is mummy coming?"
"No." We answered at the same time.
"But why." He frowned.
"Cause I have to stay with aunty Mars incase she wakes up." I told him and it was the complete truth, I didn't want to leave Martha in the hands of anyone.
"But aunty Cha said she would."
"Yeah but I think she'll like it alot if I stay back." I gave Martha's frail hand a gentle squeeze.
"Then at least come take a shower and eat something, I'm pretty sure you are tired."
"No, I'm not tired but thank you." I smiled proudly, I might have not been the best mum but at least my son was considerate.
"I agree with Cage." Shaun spoke walking through the door.
"I'm not tired." I argued.
"You sure look like it." He moved to where I was standing. "Why don't you go and I'll watch your friend for you."

"I thought you had work to do." Dash stated in monotone.
"I'm done with everything." He retorted with the same bad energy before turning back to me. "You go, I'll remain with her and I promise nothing will harm her."
With a persuasive speech and Cage's cute overly cute puppy face I had to agree.
"Here, it's chilly outside." Shaun careful placed his jacket on my shoulders and I could swear I heard Dash growl.
"I'll be back ok, please hang in there." I placed a kiss on Martha's forehead before we left the hospital.
The walk was the pack house was so uncomfortable but I had to go with it for my son's sake.
Entering adjoint bathroom in the guest room, I couldn't help but want to puke at my reflection, I looked horrible with my hair pointing in all directions like that of one who had been electrocuted and the blood made it no better, clothes were filthy, I looked like I had spent days on the streets. The second I closed my eyes flashes of all the events that occured during the past days came in my mind and I broke down in tears. After crying for almost an hour I pulled myself together, it was high time I did for myself, my son and best friend. I couldn't continue being the pathetic person everyone threw away, I could continue crying and depressing over people who gave not even 2 thoughts about me. I needed to get my act together, be strong and show everyone what I truly was capable of. It was time for a fresh start, a new dawn and new me.
I stepped into the shower and let the cold water droplets run down my body washing away all the thick blood and dirt I was covered in.
Taking a long cold relaxing shower I changed into a clean pair of black jeans and grey T-shirt, they had Penelope's scent on them so I knew they belonged to her. My hair was now clean but still scruffy but I had no time to give it proper care so I just pulled it into a messy bun.

Finally looking like a human being, I stepped out the room and went back to the hospital where I found numerous doctors studying her.
"She's not a guinea pig you know." I scoffed at Charlie after all the doctors had left.
"Excuse me?" She turned facing me.
"She's a human being and deserves to be treated like one." I scoffed.
"And what exactly have we done to make it seem otherwise." She crossed her arms over her chest.
"There's too many of you." I protested moving closer to Martha and sitting on the stool beside the bed.
"There wouldn't be if we knew what was wrong with her in the first place." She retorted. "And last I checked you came here so I could help now let me do my bloody job."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at her.
"I swear you are so unbelievable Rosalie." She sighed. "You've changed."
"Yeah, I'm no longer that naive timid girl anyone could trample on.
"Last I checked you lied to us, we are you friends-"
"Correction, were." I spat bitterly and sadness graced her features.
"And tell me if you can or can't help so I can finally find someone who can." I added.
"I'll get to work." Her voice cracked as though she was trying hard not to breakdown. Did I feel guilty for what I said, yes, maybe a little but I forced the feeling away.
"Hey Mars." I sighed caressing her pale face. "I promise I'm going to do anything in my powers for you to get better, I swear it."
"I brought you something to eat." Shaun announced entering the room.
"I'm not hungry but thanks." I spoke nonchalantly.
"You know you don't have to do that with me right." Placing the bag of food on the small table, he pulled out a stool and sat beside me.
"I'm not doing anything." I shrugged not once looking at him.
"Alright." He scoffed getting up and walking to the door before calling my name. "Rosalie."
"Hmm." I faced him.
"If ever you wish to talk or confide in someone, know I'm always will be here." He didn't even wait for my response and left.
Shaun had no idea what those words to me and I didn't expect him to but I was glad I still had someone to count on.
Deciding to take a walk so I could think of another way to save Martha if Charlie didn't I left the ward only to be pulled into an empty office and slammed against the wall.
"Why the hell are you back." Dash growled lowly trapping me in between the wall and himself.
"Get away from me." I snarled back.
"Not until you tell me what you really want." He gnashed.
"I already told you." I spat angrily. "I'm here for my friend's health that's it."
"What are you afraid I'll take my son away." I smirked taunting him. When he didn't respond I smirked. "Maybe that is what I'm here for."
"Listen fuc-"
"No you listen alpha," I pushed him off leaving him utterly surprised. "Once Martha is better I will leave your damn pack and this time I'm taking my son with me."
Do you think Dash will help Martha??
Thoughts on Rosalie's newly found attitude??

Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
