《The Last Lycan Alpha King》chapter 12

Rosalie's POV
"Cage Blake." I heard Charlie call out.
'Cage Blake?' I asked myself I knew everyone in this pack and no one except my son had that name. But it couldn't be, I left him home then again anything is possible.
I closed my eyes and tried to focus on his scent, that was the only way I could know if he was truly here or not. Dash's scent was very evident in the air but so was Cage's, my baby was here.
Snapping my eyes open, I sprinted towards the scent not even thinking twice about it.
"Cage." I called as I burst into the room he was in.
He was currently laying on the hospital bed his a cast around his left arm.
"Baby." I cooed trying not to cry. "What happened?" I asked softly as I sat beside him caressing his cheek.
"I'm sorry." He mouthed.
"It's ok baby, does it hurt?" I asked motioning to his cast wrapped arm.
"Not anymore now that you are here mummy"
Before I could respond I was interrupted by the sound of something falling and gasps.
'oh fuck!' I cussed in my mind.
"D-d-did he just call y-you mummy?" Penelope's voice filled with shock and disbelief echoed through the room.
I hadn't turned to face the people behind me as I was too afraid so I kept my eyes on my son almost paralysed.
"Rosalie, did he just call you mummy" Angelo demanded but I didn't want to respond.
"Ok what the hell is going on here?" Charlie asked confusion laced in her voice.
"Mummy." Cage called tapping my hand.
"I-I" I heard Shawn try to speak but he stopped.
"Dash, meet my mummy, mummy this is the alpha, he's really nice" Cage spoke happily.
"Your mummy huh" Dash finally spoke making my heart skip a beat.
"Mummy why are you quiet?" Cage asked but I couldn't respond, my voice had disappeared.
"Makes sense, Cage Blake" Dash chuckled sarcastically before coming to stand right in front of me.
"Why so quiet Rosalie" he spat grabbing me so hard by my ponytail.

"Dash stop" I cried in pain
"I've only began!" He spat burying his sharp clawed hand into my chest ripping out my heart in a flash.
"Oh my goodness!!" I fell to the ground gasping for air.
"Ro, are you OK" Charlie asked concerned but I couldn't find the strength to respond, I was too shaken up.
"Rose" Penelope called as I kept clutching my heart that I just saw Dash rip out. "Its OK, it was just a dream"
"It felt so real" I finally spoke and whipped the sweat droplets on my forehead.
"That's what you get for falling asleep while working" Penelope joked bit I didn't laugh, I just got off the floor and sat back on my chair.
Turns out I had fallen asleep while I was busy cutting out pieces for Charlie's wedding dress. So Charlie and Shawn had decided to get married, like make a real wedding with a wedding officiator and all in two months. Wedding for us werewolves aren't common really cause once you find your mate, its like you instantly get married no need for the white dress and flowers fuss but others still do have them, when Dash and I were together, we planned to have one, a big outdoor summer wedding by the waterfalls which was our favorite spot but hey, things don't always go as planned right.
"I've got to go, there's an emergency at the hospital" Charlie told me and I nodded telling her it was OK is she left after all, duty called.
"I'll see you guys later" she bid farewell and left.
"So tell me about the dream that got you so railed up, hell you were sweating like a dog running a marathon." Penelope teased helping me with some things I needed.
"I'd rather not talk about it" I sighed still feeling shaken up.
"Don't worry, its just a dream." She assured rubbing my back.
"I hope so" I sighed deeply again.
"When are you and Angelo planning on having mini Angela's and Patrick's" I changed the topic
"First of all I'd never name my son Patrick, I'll name him Sergei and my little girl Andromeda." She scrunched her nose before giving me a goofy smile "and secondly I'm not having kids before you find your mate, remember we made a pack, you, Charlie and I would get pregnant at the same time and our kids would be besties."

"We were 10" I huffed trying to ignore the feeling of guilt that was developing in the pit of my stomach.
"I know but still, I want that so the earlier your mate the earlier we all start popping out babies." She giggled
"I think my mate got hit by lightning or something." I joke
"Nuh, maybe he's just taking a bathroom break,he'll be here any century, year, month, week, day, hour, minuet, second or millisecond from now." She laughed and I faked a laugh too. I felt so guilty, guilty for lying to my best friends about my mate and son, guilty for breaking our pact and guilty for breaking their trust, they've always told me everything, they kept rule number 1 of our best friends code which stated no secrets no matter how big or small. And knowing that they would never forgive me if they found out the truth and all shit would hit the fan, not only would Dash be after my head, I would lose my son and only friends who I considered family.
"You are such an over thinker Ro" Penelope pinched me pulling me out of my dreadful thoughts.
"Sorry" I shook my head trying to get rid of the horrible thoughts of what would happen.
"So what will you name your kids?" She asked not making me feel good at all.
"If its a boy Cage" I went along with her
"What's up with that name, Dash obsesses over it too." She snarled "oh, I'm so sorry" she slapped a hand over her mouth when she realized her mistake.
"Its OK, I can't forbid you from saying your brothers name after all" I shrugged acting OK when I really wasn't.
"I'm sorry"
"I'll name my baby girl Calista or Bernice." I changed the topic
"Calista?"
"Yeah, it means the most beautiful one, I know she'll be beautiful" I smiled at the thought of having a baby girl, Cage would adore having a little sister but that all depended on Dash that's only if he would ever forgive me for something I didn't even do in the first place.
"It's a beautiful name" Penelope smiled pulling me back to reality.
"Thanks" I smiled
"You've been zoning out a lot today, what's up."
"Just still a little shaken over the nightmare" it wasn't a complete lie.
"You mean daymare"
"That's so dry" I laughed at her joke.
"Try being around Angelo all the time, he makes such dry jokes and now its rubbing off in me" she huffed
"Oh stop complaining you know you love them."
"The jokes, not at all, not even a tad bit but I love him." She blushed
****
The rest of the week had flown by peaceful and I hoped they would continue but a girl can only dream.
Today was quite cold as winter was quick approaching so I went home the usual time hoping to make a cup of hot coco while I cuddled my son and watched our favorite movie.
"Cage!" I called as I closed the front door and took off my coat placing it on the hanger. "Cage" I called again when he didn't respond. I went to his room and found him sleeping soundly under the covers, not wanting to wake him up, I went to my room freshened up and changed into comfy clothes before going to the kitchen and making a cup of hot coco.
Just as I was about to sit down the front door opened revealing Dash.
"Is he really my son?" He asked
"What?" I replied with a question feeling my heart about to beat out of my chest any moment.
"Is Cage my son?"
"I don't know what you are talking about" I lied "I don't even know who Cage is" I spoke confidently since I knew Cage was upstairs sleeping.
"Mummy" Cage spoke hurt drenching his voice as he appeared through the front door making me drop the mug in my hands.

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
