《My Beloved Mate》Chapter 15: Family

😍
Waking up at my boyfriend's house was...different. The good kind of different, the kind that made me feel warm and comfortable. The best part is when he brought me breakfast in bed and I was just surprised because I felt like a prince getting pampered. God bless this man and making him mine. It had been about two months since we started dating and it was amazing, all of it.
We took things slow and really got to know each other and I got to know some of his friends and family. They were wary of me at first but they opened up and were really accepting. As for the rest of the pack, I haven't met them yet. I've seen them around where Zeck lived but they never spoke to me, just would just bow and walk away. It was weird but I didn't mind at all.
I packed my last box and sealed it with tape. Yes, I was moving in with Zechariah and I know that it was a little too soon but after knowing for a bit, I felt like I can move forward with him. Hence, I put my house for sale, and Parker and Nichole bought it. They said they loved the little house and it would be a waste to just give to someone else. Since they had gotten engaged and was saving up money to buy a house together, they thought that my house would be perfect for them, and I thought that it was nice that I could still visit my first house that bought with my own money.
The door opened and I turned, when I saw who it was, I smiled. "All done." I walked over to him and kissed his lips. Zechariah smiled and kissed me back as he wrapped his arms around my back.
"Okay, I'll just take it to the truck." I nodded and stepped away from him. He swiftly picked up the heavy of and brought it to the moving truck that was waiting outside.
I picked up the last box and looked around my old room where I had spent three years of my life. This was a beautiful home and I would truly miss it but I knew that I wasn't losing it, this would be my home but not entirely mine. I smiled and walked out the door where the truck was and place the box there and closed the sliding door close. "That's all," I said to the driver who nodded and carefully drove away.

I turned around to see Zeck looking at me weirdly. I gave him a confused look. "Are you really sure about this?" He asks as he walked closer to me.
I smiled and hugged him tightly. Since we were close to the same height, I could put my head on his shoulder. "Yes, I am sure about this. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be moving in with you. Also, you're amazing and my mate." I pulled away and winked. Zechariah grabbed my neck and pulled me in gently to kiss me, I smiled into the kiss and kissed him back.
"Good," he mumbled on my lips before kissing me again.
"Oh my god, can you guys stop with the PDA?" I hate an annoying voice call out making me push Zechariah away. I turned around to see Luke with an annoyed expressed and behind him was his mate, Kain. He had recently joined the pack because of Luke's stubbornness.
"Good morning Alpha," Kain bowed to Zechariah and then he turned and greeted me. I smiled waved as a greeting. "Are you guys all set?" He asked so politely, unlike his mate.
"Yes, we are all ready." I smiled and walked towards them. "Thank you for your help."
"It's the least we can." Kain smiled a little before turning to Luke and raising a brow at him. "No need to be jealous, he's one of our future leaders."
I laughed when I saw Luke's face flushing red before he punished Kain's arm, glared at me, then walked away. Zechariah was laughing behind me and Kain went to catch up to his mate.
I walked to Zeck's car and he hopped in the driver's seat before driving away to my new home until I die.
~••••~
I turned to look at the people gathered around me. Well, they weren't people, they were Werewolves. I was a bit scared but I knew that none of them would hurt me because they knew the consequences. Besides, I had Luke and Zechariah by my side. An elderly woman spoke up first. "Why did you bring a human here?" She seemed a bit angry.
"Because he's my mate," Zechariah answered curtly.
"He can expose us!" Another one yelled and then soon everyone started telling. Everything was loud and I had to move behind Zechariah when someone tried to grab me.
Zechariah pulled me closer and calmly said, "Enough." Making everyone stop whatever they were doing. The silence was deafening. It was like that for what felt like ten minutes because younger kids walked away, and only the older ones remained. "Luke, take Kain and Lionel back to the house." Then he turned to me and kissed my cheek before moving away from me. "I'll be there soon." I could only stare and then nod my head.

Luke gently grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the group and we quietly made our way to the house that I first I stayed over. "Thank you," I said them and they nodded as we walked inside.
"Here, the key is for you. Zechariah will tell you passcode later." Luke handed me the key he used to open the door. "Are you okay?"
"Truth?" I asked and he nodded. "No, that was scary and loud. I'm not used to that many people all at the same time and they seem hostile."
Luke patted my shoulder and pulled me to sit on the sofa. "They have to get used to you, and since you hold the title as our "Luna", they don't like that a human got the title instead of their children. They wanted Zechariah to marry one of their children if he didn't find his mate soon." He explained.
"Oh," I was a bit surprised that they wanted him to marry someone that wasn't his mate. Zechariah told me that if a Werewolf doesn't mate with their mate, they can die eventually but the process is pretty slow if the mate has already died. "That's..."
"Yeah," Luke laughed a bit. "Anyway, let's make something to eat because I am sure Zeck would be hungry but the time he comes back."
"Okay," I smiled little. Feeling better that someone was here beside me to help me when Zechariah isn't there. "What are we making?"
"His favorite." Luke winked and opened the fridge. "I'll help you learn the recipe, if he ever gets angry, just make him this and he'll forgive you."
"Thank you." I laughed and helped him get whatever he needed. I had no clue what the hell we were cooking but I paid attention because I wanted to know how to make Zechariah's favorite dish.
"Cute the mushrooms and then soak them in the vinegar for about two minutes." He instructed and followed. "We are going to make mushroom soup and chickpea curry. Along with, Chawan Mushi."
I only nodded and helped with whatever I can. Kain joined us after a while. We almost had everything before the heard the door open and went to greet Zech. I smiled and kissed him because I saw that he was worried about being still staying. I was going to stay here even if no one wants me, as long as he wants me here, I will be by his side. "We made your favorite."
"Oh?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around me and walked the kitchen. "It smells great."
"Of course, yours truly made it." Luke joked making Zech laugh and Kain smile. "What are you waiting for? Eat!"
We all sat down and ate dinner. "Lu—Lion, your things have been put away already so you don't need to worry," Kain spoke and I nodded with a smile that he actually listened to me.
"Thanks," I said to him.
After having wine Luke and Kain left so it was just me and Zech. I heard him sigh and walked over to him. "Are you okay?" I asked as I hugged him from behind.
"I didn't they would react this way." Turned around and hugged me tighter. "I am so sorry."
"It's not your fault." I rubbed his back. "I heard that they wanted you to marry one of their daughters or son if you didn't find me soon."
"Hmm." He hummed on my shoulder.
"Thank god you found me," I whispered.
"Yeah, thank god I found you."
We stayed in the living room, standing while hugging each other. That was the best moment of my life, and I loved him even more for always caring for me and putting me before his needs. This made me mad sometimes but I loved him more for that too. But I'll save saying that for later. I just wanted to enjoy the moment.
