The day started like it always would. I got up, washed up, showered and then ate breakfast. The only difference was that I didn't have work today. It was Saturday and it was my rest day, which was a good thing because I really needed it. The week has been a little stressful because of the upcoming holidays and since my area was a bit of tourists area, the people come flooding in to see the sites here.

I got up and walked to my room to change so I could go jogging. That's a habit of mine, every time I had a little free time, I would use it to work out and try to stay in the best shape that I could. Other times I got a little lazy just stayed in my couch being a bum that I knew I was. No one can blame me, the inner me hated working out and just wanted to stay home all day and do nothing, but I couldn't do that. I had to force myself to be better so I wouldn't end up where I was years ago. That was a topic for another time.

I sighed as I stood up. Don't think about it. I told myself over and over. I didn't want to go back there, it was horrible and torturous, I hated every minute of it.

I shook my head as I pulled down my workout shirt and then put on a sports jacket before zipping it and then connecting in my headphones to my phone. I walked out the door and locked it behind me. I put my keys in my pocket and zipped it too. I didn't need it falling out and then me being stuck out until a locksmith arrived. It was an embarrassing experience that I didn't want to go through again.

I looked towards the woods—it was a small forest to be precise–and thought about it. Eh, what's the worst that could happen? Get attacked by a wolf? Nah, there are no wolves around here. When I finished my inner dialogue, I nodded to myself as I put on my headphone and stretched for a bit before making my way to the trail that led into the woods and out on the other side. This was probably the only thing I like about this little town, it was peaceful and everyone minded their own business.

As I jogged woods listening to some classical music, because it was calming and I liked it, I noticed how peaceful it was. As I ran in deeper, I paused and took off the headphones. I wanted to hear the birds and insects, because I loved nature and the reason being that my Ganny and my Granpa loved to hike, even if they were old they still went out sometimes to hike or walk in the woods and when I was a kid they would bring me with them. They would tell me stories about their travels and I loved them all.

Two years ago, my grandmother passed away and soon my grandpa followed. I didn't get the chance to go there but I heard it from one of my cousins that I kept in contact with. She was nicer than the rest of my family.

As I was lost in my thought, I heard something from behind me. I spun around quickly, expecting someone to be there but there was no one. "Okay, freaky," I mumbled as I started walking. I picked up my pace when I heard the crunching of the fallen leaves. "Fuck!" I cussed as I sped up.

I turned around for a quick second and noticed there was a brown wolf, along with a black and great one. The brown one was larger than the other two and holy shit they were staring at me. "Oh, my fuck!" I yelled as I sprinted forward. I didn't want to die today, or any other day and especially not by some wild animals.

The crunching and the thumbs of the paws continued but as soon as I was out of the woods, it stopped. I sighed in relief and took a detour home.

Another death avoided, I told myself.

"So you are saying that you ran into a pack of wolves?" Parker questioned as Nichole made us dinner, in my kitchen.

"Yeah," I mumbled as I played some game on my phone. "Thought I was going to die."

"But you didn't and lived to tell me the story." Parker joked as she smacked my shoulder. "Babe, hurry up. I am hungry."

Nichole and Parker have been together since they were twenty, they just celebrated their fifth year anniversary. "Well, if you helped them maybe this will go faster," Nichole replies with a playful sneer.

"But Babe! I am more interested in Lion's encounter with werewolves." She whined like a child.

I looked up at her with my eyebrows raised. "What the hell are you talking about?" I questioned. She just looked at me with a sheepish grin. "Dude, you seriously believe that werewolves exist? You can't be serious. Is she serious?" I turned to question Nichole.

"She reads gay books about them. You ask her." Nichole chuckled as she stirred the cauliflower in the pan.

"The fuck is wrong with you?" I asked Parker as I turned back to her.

"What? Can't I satisfy my fantasies? And what? They could exist and be in hiding. There is at least 0.0001% chance they exist." Parker rolled her eyes as she stood up and walked to the kitchen. "I am done with the conversation, I shall go and help my love."

"Whatever." I chuckled as I went back to texting people on my phone. "Crazy."

I heard them bickering in the kitchen, I knew it was playful banter. I rolled my eyes at their shit, but deep down I knew I wanted to have something like them. I longed for some connecting with about person. I didn't care if they were a girl or a boy since I was bisexual. I wanted to have someone there for me, yes I've dated both genders but I've never really found someone that I wanted to spend my life with. I have hope that someday a person would come and that would be the person I would spend the rest of my life with. I know, I am only twenty-four, thinking about spending my life with the rest of my life with, but planning ahead isn't a bag thing. "Lion, come get the plates and help me set up the table." My thoughts were interrupted by Parker's voice.

"It's only for three people, why do you need help?" I asked but I got up anyway and walked in and carried the plates and glasses.

We ate quietly until Nichole spoke up. "I think we should go on a double date." She mumbled quietly.

"Yeah?" I asked looking up at her. "With who?"

"Parker and I. And you could be with a guy I just met. He's gay, by the way." Nichole answered.

"But that doesn't mean that he's my type." I raised an eyebrow.

"You don't know that. Just come out next weekend and then you can decide. Please?" She begged and I looked at Parker, that little shit gave me puppy dog eyes too, well, she tried to.

"Fine, if it goes to hell, it's all on you and you owe me." I gave in.

"Bet." Parker smiled and kissed Nichole on the lips.

Yeah, I really wished I had something like them.
