"My former masters were much stronger but still died" the voice said sadly and continued "Am I doomed to keep waiting for a worthy master for all eternity" the child was obviously talking to and pitying his self.

"Who is there?" Jiang who was still scared witless asked, like the bumpkin he was he didn't know that high level treasures could have spirit.

"Wait, I have questions to ask" but no matter how Jiang called for the heavenly jade cauldron spirit , it didn't respond, it seems before he can speak with it again he has to increase his power but to what level the child didn't even mention that, Jiang was hoping he could ask him about it's origin, he had a lot to ask that spirit but for now all that will have to be on hold.

Jiang decided to rest and check the space ring later and when he did he saw a small room built in the endless space, it looked so out of place, Inside the room where some basic materials about been an alchemists, there was also some materials for pill making and numerous amount of spirit mana stones that made Jiang breathe seize literally, he didn't have to worry about money again, the former master of the ring must have stored these things and to have so many spirit mana stones can only mean he was a powerful figure during his days.

Jiang was happy he could now visit the palace pavilion and buy the alchemist ingredients for the pills he need, some of those ingredients were already in the space ring, all these years not one of those ingredients withered away and they look more vital than ever.

The Sun had set so Jiang planned on visiting the Palace Pavilion the next day after the ballot pick, From what Jiang heard after the ballot pick the competition won't start until after two months, so he had two months to increase his strength and at a frightening pace or else, he doesn't wish to think of the outcome.

The next day Jiang was summoned by the Emperor to the Palace Martial Ground and this time he was allowed to sit, not beside the emperor or anywhere near his tent but in the tent readied for him , Jiang noticed that the court officials were seated in a tent too and all were looking towards the Martial stage as ten different people walked to the stage in a single line.

The emperor said dryly, clearly not wanting to waste time or words .

The Chief Eunuch at the middle of the stage bowed towards the emperor and then he turned to face the competitors that will be competing for Jiang title.

The chief eunuch was a middle aged looking man, he had a long black and white moustache on his chin, he wore a long blue coloured eunuch's robe and had his hands crossed at his back.

Jiang knew that the middle aged man with bronze coloured hair and deep dark eyes was the chief eunuch because the eunuch attending to him told him, Jiang still haven't been able to socialize in the palace yet because of more pressing matters and he isn't sure anyone will want to socialize with him anyway so he still doesn't know much about the palace.

Jiang thinks that the empress elect title is a title that even if now he wanted to give away will not be accepted, he really hoped he could leave this place someday and not as a body wrapped in straw mats to be thrown for the birds in the air to feast on but to leave as a living person.

"The ballot pick is not really a competition but it's based on fate and luck, six of you will pick from the ballot cube...He gestured towards a big glittering glowing cube some distance in the air but didn't stop speaking for a second ....a crystal ball with the word Empress elect written on it, when I say pick I mean you will use your element magic to hit the side of the ballot cube and then a crystal ball will shoot out from the cube, if your ball has empress elect written on it then you will be competing with the current empress elect for her position while those who picked the crystal ball with no words won't be competing" he said and every one of the competitors looked agitated some even traced Jiang location with their eyes just to glare hatefully at him, they were people who wanted the title Jiang loathed so much.

The chief eunuch paused as he saw the pleased looks in their eyes, each of them were thinking the same thing.

if Jiang was to lose in his first battle then only one out of the four will be able to join in the race for the empress elect title but they were still all happy for the chance and while they were happy about Jiang definite demise the chief eunuch just stared at them briefly, there was no arrogance in his gaze but that was all, on seeing him one knew he was to be respected.

He asked and they all nodded.

"Good, then move towards the ballot cube and make your pick." He said and then stepped back a little in other to give way.

The first person to go was surprisingly the glaring girl who never missed a chance to glare at me hatefully.

When she was directly beneath the cube, she flew up and then ones she was beside the cube she hit it with so much of her fire element magic, the force was so strong that Jiang could even feel a bit of the heat from his tent despite the protection array set up on the stage to prevent such a situation, it's a good thing the commoners tent was well protected even better than his.

Jiang didn't want to imagine that fire heading his way, he wasn't as strong as the cube to live even after receiving such power.

The ballot cube shinned brightly as it received the girl's power, it seemed to be happy it was fed so it shot out a crystal ball that flew out of from the top hole on ballot cube and landed on the girls outstretched hand as she was falling back to the ground, she smirked as she looked at the ball and when she landed on her two feet she walked back to her earlier position in the line.

Jiang wished this troublesome girl wasn't that lucky to pick empress elect, he prayed hard for that purpose.

The common people that were allowed into the palace specially because of this competitions were cheering for the girl while calling her

Liang Na looked towards the empress elect tent and upon meeting eyes with Jiang she smiled coldly and then raised her right hand towards her neck and did a slicing gesture.

She was obviously telling Jiang that in their upcoming fight she will have his head but her threats meant nothing to Jiang at all, He ignored the girl by throwing his face away in a nonchalant manner and just imagining smoke coming out of her pretty little head made him smile.

Jiang thought he really shouldn't be provoking that tigress Liang Na but even if he didn't the tigress will still come find him.

Jiang felt very tired all of a sudden.
