《The Younger Agent - Natasha Romanoff x OC》Chapter 30 - My Arms Hurt

They continued shooting at the never-ending army, Eleanor still thought that they were pretty useless against the army compared to a literal God but she would continue to try her best to help clear some of them.
After getting rid of a good chunk of the Chitauri in front of her, Eleanor lowered one of her guns and started looking around the area after she heard muffled screams. Scanning the area she saw people trapped in a bus nearby, "Shit, there's people trapped in that bus!", she yelled whilst running over to it, having to duck a few times as alien blasts were sent her way.
Clint looked over at Nat and they nodded at each other, Nat would cover the other two whilst they rescued the trapped people.
Civilians were being passed through the window as the door was broken, when Eleanor grabbed one and turned to place them down, Clint grabbed one. It was like a conveyor belt, they were efficient and quick, but it still wasn't going to be quick enough as Nat was now being overwhelmed with the number of Chitauri building up again.
Clint grabbed the door of the bus and yanked it open, leaving Eleanor wondering why he couldn't have just done that from the start. She pushed these thoughts aside after he had reached Nat again, whereas Eleanor stayed to direct the civilians to the safest exit route, not that any of them were safe really.
Once everyone was on their way to safety, she ran back to the other too and started shooting alongside Nat again before hearing "Just like Budapest all over again!".
Eleanor and Clint went slightly wide-eyed at Nat casually bringing up this traumatic event but quickly shrugged it off when more aliens ran at them to take their lives.
"You and I remember Budapest very differently".
The group were getting overrun with aliens, with them now at arm's length instead of a steady few feet back. Clint used his bow to sweep the legs of one of them before stabbing them with an arrow, and Nat had somehow gotten on the shoulders of another, using her gloves loaded with electricity to shock it.
Eleanor ran at a taxi and jumped off of the side of it, using one of her legs to boost her jump and directed her other leg to kick one of the Chitauri in the face, landing on her feet next to it before using her gun to finish it off.
She turned when she heard Clint grunt in pain at being tackled to the floor, but he was quickly able to fight off so she went back to trying to save her own ass as more of them turned their attention to her.
One, in particular, started charging towards her, so she ran towards it as well, before dropping and skidding on the floor at the last second, grabbing its ankle and throwing it to the floor. It got up quickly though and jumped on her, sending the gun in her hand flying away from her. She desperately tried to reach it but her fingertips were just grazing it. There was an attempt to grab another gun from her holsters that were still on one side of her body, but the arm on that side was being painfully pinned down.

The Chitauri on top of her then lifted its staff ready to finish her off so in a mad scramble she pulled out one of the small knives from her belt and sunk it into the Chitauri's abdomen, thanking all of the Gods that she had managed to find a gap in the armour, and put as much pressure on it she could before it fell limp in her hold. It fell on top of her making her want to gag. She threw it off of her sideways and quickly jumped up to get back into the fight.
She was impressed when she looked over and saw Nat expertly fighting off the Chitauri with one of their own weapons, blasting them away. "Anywhere I can get one of those?!", Eleanor shouted over to her whilst shooting a couple of the aliens with her guns after Nat had killed a wave of them. This just earned a smirk before Nat had to turn around and blast a few more. Eleanor didn't think that her answer was very helpful.
The gun she was currently shooting with really was not efficient compared to the staff that Nat had managed to get ahold of. Looking around, she saw that one of the ones that she had recently killed had dropped theirs, but her path was being blocked by more Chitauri running at her.
One was aiming a staff at her, getting ready to fire, but instead of trying to dodge she took the plunge and ran right at it, confusing the Chitauri, who instead decided to swing the staff at her. She reached out and made her body go rigid so that she could stand her ground at the impact. Before the sharp part of the staff made contact with her body she managed to grip onto part of the handle with her hand and stopped it in its tracks. "Ha!".
The main problem was now that the alien still had a grip on it and they were practically face to face. It looked like it was about to send a devastating punch her way, so she kicked it hard in the chest and it flew backwards, losing the grip on the staff.
She twirled the staff around so that the blaster end was no longer pointing in her direction, and shot the Chitauri she had stolen it from, then swung it at the others that had started to surround her. Swing after swing after swing, they were dropping like flies.
After the swarm near her was clear, she ran back to Clint and Nat, "I found one!", she exclaimed proudly whilst waving the staff around in the air, Nat didn't have any time to say anything as she was currently swinging at some aliens herself but she did let out a laugh at hearing her girlfriends antics, even in the middle of a fight.
They were hard to fight off, even with the staff to blast them and stab them with, but it was better than the guns. Still, Eleanor thought her arms were going to fall off any second now. She continued kicking at stabbing, with her and Nat helping each other if they saw that the other was being overrun.

Eleanor's lungs were screaming at her and her muscles were slowly shutting down, she was working hard to keep from just collapsing from exhaustion. She was also covered in Chitauri blood and goop from when the one she stabbed slumped on top of her, mix this with ash and debris sticking to it, it wasn't a pleasant sight.
As they continued to fight off the hoard, the Captain came jumping back into the area, slamming a group away with his shield. Before they could continue fighting off the Chitauri after this sudden jump scare, the ones in from of them were shot down with streaks of lightning.
Thanks, Thor.
There was a collective sigh of relief that the God had spared them a few seconds of not having to fight anything, trying to catch their breaths before they were needed again.
"What's the story upstairs?", Steve asked as the group started to walk towards Thor.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable". Great, just what they need.
Suddenly Stark's voice came through their earpieces, "Thor's right. We got to deal with these guys".
"How do we do this?", Nat voiced everyone's question.
"As a team", Steve responded, making Eleanor gesture for more information behind his back, doing it as a team was already a given, so she was not satisfied with that being given as a valid answer.
"I have unfinished business with Loki", the God of Thunder inputted.
Clint looked up at them whilst fixing up some of his arrows, "Yeah, well get in line". There really was no time to discuss who was going to get revenge on Loki first, they just needed to get a plan, a decent one at that, and shut the giant sky hole off, Eleanor thought.
"Save it", Steve interjected, clearly having the same mindset as Eleanor here, "Loki's going to keep the fight focused on us, and that's what we need. Without Loki, these things could run wild", he continued whilst walking backwards, facing the group, forcing them to slowly follow. "We got Stark up top, he's going to need us to-", he didn't get to continue, however, as the sound of a motorcycle got their attention.
Eleanor frowned and moved to look around the side of Steve. It was Banner? Huh, Tony was right. She didn't think that she would ever be saying those words in her head, luckily she didn't have to say them out loud.
They all immediately walked over to Banner, "So, this all seems horrible".
Eleanor let out a small dry chuckle at the Doctor, yes, it was very horrible. Her muscles were still screaming at her to just sit on the floor for a few minutes, and the battle had only just begun really.
"I've seen worse", Nat replied softly whilst looking Banner up and down, making Eleanor's face drop slightly.
"Sorry".
"No, we could use a little worse". banner looked a little shocked at this but also relieved that there were clearly no real hard feelings.
"Stark, we got him", Steve spoke.
"Banner?".
"Just like you said".
"Tell him to suit up, I'm bringing the party to you".
Suddenly the group saw Iron Man flying around the side of a building heading directly towards them, being followed by a leviathan who damaged a large portion of the building.
"I don't see how that's a party", Nat replied.
"I've been to worse", Eleanor shrugged, causing nat to playfully shake her head, with her eyes still trained on the leviathan.
Bruce started walking away from the team towards the imminent source of death, but was stopped by Steve, "Doctor Banner, now might be a really good time for you to get angry".
"That's my secret, Captain. I'm always angry". And with that he transformed into the Hulk, a lot more graceful than last time, and punched the oncoming leviathan right in its face, doing his best to slow it down, before it flipped, its body in a trajectory to go straight into the group of heroes below it.
"Hold on!", Stark shouted whilst aiming an explosive at it, blowing the leviathan up. Cap used his shield to cover Nat, Eleanor almost didn't fit under the shield but Nat grabbed her and shielded her with her own body, keeping a painfully tight grip on her lower back and head, pulling her into her body.
Luckily, none of them were hit in a way that would cause damage by the falling leviathan debris. They all swiftly stood and looked around, taking in all the damage.
Nat grabbed ahold of Eleanor's hand and looked into her eyes searching to see if she was okay, she looked as good as she could at this current time was her deduction.
"Thanks for you know... being a shield", Eleanor breathed out, before turning to look around with the others.
"Hey", Nat leaned her upper body slightly to the side to catch Eleanor's gaze, "I got you". The two smiled at each other before joining the rest who seemed to have formed a small circle to ward off any Chitauri that would come near.
Eleanor stood between Natasha and the Captain, holding a gun in both hands with her arms loosely hanging by her sides, fingers on the trigger.
The Avengers Assembled.
