《Natasha x Y/N》Chapter 23

Y/n's POV
Walking down to breakfast the next day I saw Tony, Pepper and Morgan all sat at the table. Morgan ran up to me and gave me a massive hug, I smiled and swung her onto my hip so I could see her better. Pepper and Tony smiled at me from the table as I held their daughter.
"Good morning, you okay?" I asked the little girl in my arms. She nodded shyly and asked to be put down. I placed her back on the ground and she ran back to her high chair to finish her co-co pops. I sat down in an empty chair and looked at the other two. "How was Dr.Cho?"
"Good. Me and Banner have some work to do in the lab." Tony said taking his coffee with him before walking out.
"Sorry about him, he gets cranky after long plane rides." Pepper raised apologetically.
"Don't worry about it. How are you?" I asked her. Pepper had become like a mum to me in the first few months of my arrival.
"I'm doing good a little tired though. I was wondering if you could keep an eye on the little one for a bit, whilst I finish some work?" Pepper asked me.
"Yeah that would be great. I'll probably be with Wanda and Pietro. Peter might join after he has done his homework, is that okay?" I asked.
"Sounds great. That alright with you?" She turned to Morgan.
"Yessss!" Morgan smiled as she finished her bowl of cereal.
"Good, I'll see you two later." Pepper said giving us both a kiss on the forehead as she walked out.
Me and Morgan sat on the sofa in the main room watching Scooby-doo when Wanda and Pietro walked in. They took a seat on the sofa and watched the episode with us. Laughing at the inevitable lines at the end of the story.
"And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids and that dog!" Me and Pietro recited.
I switched the TV off and looked at the two Sokovians. "I have Morgan for the day so I wondered if there was anything in particular that you wanted to do?"
Wanda looked at me and suggested we could go to the park for a bit. Pietro liked that idea and grabbed a loaf of bread and threw it at me. I caught it and looked at him skeptically.
"For the ducks!" He told me excitedly.
"Ohhh okay. You like the ducks Morgan?" I asked.
Morgan nodded and took the bread from my hands.
"Okay me and Morgan are gonna go get ready then, meet you here in 10?" I asked the others. They both agreed and I took Morgan to her room.

I grabbed Morgan a coat and wellies whilst she got changed into some more waterproof clothes. "Can you tie my hair up?" She asked me once she was done.

"Sure, what you thinking a pony tail?" I asked as I grabbed her hairbrush.
"Plait!" She begged me.
"O-okay." I laughed as I brushed her hair out.
She sat reasonably still and we talked about her dad and the school she was going to go to at the start of September. "Aaand done." I said as I tied the end of the second plait.
Morgan thanked me and grabbed the loaf of bread from her bed before running downstairs, wellies in the other hand and her coat resting just with the hood on her head. I shook my head and smiled to myself before following her. Shortly after Wanda and Pietro came down, accompanied by Peter.
"You coming with us?" I asked him.
"Yeah, Tony wants me to spend more time with her and she is awesome so why wouldn't I? He laughed as Morgan hugged him.
***
We all headed to the park and watched as Pietro ran, at a slightly faster than average but not so fast to be suspicious speed, with Morgan on his back. The 3 of us that were left walked over to a bench and sat down, Peter passing us a water from his bag.
"Morgan, over here!" I called out. She ran over and I walked with her to the top of a slope. "Ready?" I asked her.
"Ready for what?" She asked me.
"This." I smirked and rolled down the hill horizontally. Gaining speed as I rolled over and over. She giggled as I ended up in a lump at the bottom of the hill. "Uhhh." I groaned as a stone wedged itself into my back. "Your turn!" I told her.
She looked at it and then back at me nervously. "Don't worry, I'll catch you." I promised. She smiled again and tumbled down the hill, faster and faster as her tiny form gained speed.
"Again!" Morgan cheered as she came to a stop. Pietro and Peter ran to the top of the hill and flung themselves down without a care. We laughed as they ended up entangled with each other.
"C'mon we can all go at the same time." I said as I took Morgan's hand. The four of us stood at the top whilst Wanda watched from the bench. "Ready?" I asked as I held Pietro and Morgan's hands.
"Yes!" Pietro said as he rolled down, the rest of us tumbling after him.
"Woah!" Peter yelled as he fell unexpectedly.
I laughed with Morgan at Peter's antics and Pietro winked at him. "You didn't see that coming."
"No he didn't. Now come here, we'll have lunch and then feed the ducks." Wanda called us all over. We took Peter's bag and found a clearing in front of the lake to eat at.
Wanda took the food out of Peter's bag and laid it out for us. There were ham, cheese, jam and sausage sandwiches. There were mini pork pies, cocktail sausages, strawberries, crisps, cream, scones, jam, party rings and some chocolate pieces. Water and coke bottles were shared out and we looked in surprise at Peter who had managed to prepare all this in a short amount of time.

"It was for a date with MJ but she was busy today so we're having it instead." He shrugged.
"Okay well, I'm sorry MJ was busy but I am glad that we got all this food." I told him.
"Let's eat!" Pietro grabbed a few sandwiches with his super speed and sat munching as we looked at him. "What?" He asked through a mouthful.
"Morgan, what do you want?" I asked the young Stark.
"Jam sandwich!" She said happily.
"Okay here you go." I passed her the jam sandwich plate and she helped herself. The rest of us took our preferred foods and sat munching contentedly.
"Ahhhh." I sighed and laid back in the grass, staring up at the tree branches. I looked down in surprise and saw Morgan cuddled into my side. I held her close and we sat laid there, enjoying the calm afternoon.
{A short while later}
Wanda and Peter stood up, making me open my eyes. They held the bag of bread between them and were looking for some ducks.
"Morgan, honey?" I asked. "Are you nearly done?"
"Nearly." She said as she stuck her tongue out in concentration as she finished my daisy crown.
"Woah, that looks amazing!" I told her truthfully as I put it on my head. "We will have to get you a matching one, because you are a princess." I said as I took her hand. She giggled and walked with me over to Wanda and Peter, leaving Pietro to clean up the last of the food.
Morgan took a slice of bread that had been offered to her by Peter and tore it up into tiny little chunks before throwing it to the ducks. She repeated this a few times and a couple of ducks had swum closer, realising there was food. "They like it!" She said as they gulped down the bread.
"Of course they do." Wanda said throwing some bread of her own.
"Here, let's split up so all the ducks get fed. Wanda and Morgan, me and Peter and Pietro can join when he is done. How does that sound?" I asked the other three.
"Sounds good." Wanda said as she and Morgan walked to the other side of the lake. Me and Peter had taken a few slices of bread and split it between us as we lobbed it into the middle of the lake. I took a slice and crumbled it in my hand, scattering the crumbs so the fish would get some too.
We stayed feeding the ducks for a few hours occasionally stopping to play tag, or blind man's buff. Finally when even Pietro was tired out we packed up and made our way back to the compound. Half-way there Morgan got tired so I gave her a piggy back for the rest of the way home which she enjoyed.
***
"How was your day?" Pepper asked as we walked through the door. I placed Morgan down and stretched my back a little.
"It was good, we went to the park and had a picnic, fed the ducks and played some games." I told her as Morgan ran to fetch a popsicle.
"That sounds good, I am glad you had a nice time. Fury is here to see you y/n." Pepper told me.
"Oh okay." I sighed and made my way to the meeting room where he had requested my presence.
***
"Sir?" I asked as I walked in the room
"Ah Agent Y/L/N I was waiting for you to return home." He sat down in a chair and gesture for me to do the same. "As you know Agent Romanoff and Agent Rogers were away on an undercover mission."
"Yeah." I nodded. "Wait, what do you mean 'were'?" I asked concerned.
"There cover was blown. An inside Hydra agent sold them out and they were in.... let's say a spot of trouble. Agent Romanoff and Agent Rogers escaped but the former has an injury. She has been shot in the hip and was badly beaten up." Fury told me calmly.
"What do you mean, she got beaten up? She is the black widow! She doesn't get beaten up." I cried out in anger.
"Agent Rogers was dealing with a bigger threat and Romanoff got overwhelmed. She is good but can't take in 12 Hydra agents at once. She is lucky to get away alive." He said.
"Where are they now?" I asked him, trying to stay calm.
"In the air, they are being flown in to a hospital not far from here. There they can fully assess the injuries." Fury explained.
"And Steve? Is he okay?" I worried about him, he was like a parent to me.
"Steve is okay, exhausted and angry but not injured." Fury reassured me.
"Good. I will visit them tomorrow." I said rising from my seat.
"Y/n. Her injuries are serious, we don't know if she will make it. And be careful, we don't know who we can trust anymore." Fury dismissed me with his grave warning.
