《Natasha x Y/N》Chapter 5

Y/N's POV

I decided to have another shower, as I was rather sweaty after training. I didn't bother washing my hair again although I let the water run onto it. Getting out of the shower I dried myself off and pulled on a red dressing gown. I walked into my room and sat down at my desk, plugging in my hair dryer so I could get ready. I brushed through my, now dry, hair and combed it back into a French braid. I grabbed my makeup bag and started to apply a natural look. Some concealer, foundation, a bit of mascara and I decided to wear lipstick this evening. I rifled through my makeup bag and found a nice deep red shade called, 'Blood orange fusion', weird name but it looked good.

Next I turned to my wardrobe and looked through for a nice dress. I usually didn't wear anything fancy, I much preferred hoodies and t-shirts, jeans and jogging bottoms, but as it was a Stark party I thought I should make an effort. I pulled a dress out that I had worn to a mission about 2 years back.

This is the dress, sorry if you don't like it

I found a pair of red heels and set them by my bed so I could slip them on when I was ready to go. I put the dress on my bed and looked at the time. It was 19:30. I pulled on a pair of grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. I wanted a drink so I walked down stairs into the kitchen and grabbed a glass. "Hey, that what you wearing to the party?" I looked behind me. "Hey Buck, and no I just didn't want to put my dress on yet, it was a bit early. Besides I could turn up in this, I'm very comfy ya know." I turned back around a poured my self a glass of orange juice.

"I'm sure you are doll, I'm sure you are." He smiled.

"So, what are you wearing then? Not gunna turn up in your pjs are you?" I teased.

"No I am just about to get changed, I'll see you at the party, maybe I could walk you there?" He asked me.

"Sure, meet me at my door in 20 minutes, that okay?" I looked at him.

"Sure thing, doll, see you then." He winked and strolled out the room.

I drank my glass of orange juice as I scrolled through my phone, answering a few messages and checking in on a few friends. After 5 minutes I headed back up to my room and changed into my dress. I put some head phones in and wasted the last 10 minutes listening to some good songs, when I heard a knock on the door.

"Just a sec Bucky, I'll be out now." I called out. I grabbed my heels, slipped them on and reapplied my lipstick. I walkover to the door and opened it, expecting to see Barnes stood there instead I saw someone else. "48 hours remember?" The Russian smirked at me. Shit, I was hoping to avoid her. "So Bucky huh?" She looked at me with a look of amusement on her face.

"What, oh no he was just gonna walk me to the party thats all, speaking of which." I turned to see Bucky walking up to us. "Hey handsome." I laughed as he did a twirl for me, ending in a mock bow.

"Ready to go doll?" He asked. I nodded and stepped to the side of the red-head who was still in front of me. "I must say you look amazing tonight Y/N"

"Don't I look amazing all the time Buck?" I teased. He laughed with me and offered me his arm, which I took and we walked down the corridor leaving Nat stood at my door. "I must say, that suit looks good on you." I told him.

"Thanks, here we are, can I get you a drink?" He asked.

"Sure, but I just gotta check, we are here as friends right?" I needed to make sure I wasn't leading him on.

"Of course, unless you wanted something else?" He said, eyebrows raised.

"No, no friends is good, I just needed to ask." I laughed nervously.

"What am I not good enough for ya?" He shook his head at me in pretend hurt.

"Oh you drama queen. No it's not that. You are just not my type." I smiled at him.

"Oh so what is your type? Perhaps Captain Rodgers? Angry Banner? Super Nerd Tony?" He quizzed me.

"Uhhh, not exactly no." I answered vaguely.

"Okay so what is your type?" He asked as we sat down at the bar.

"Oh ya know, just sorta someone who I haven't met yet." I joked as the bartender passed us our drinks.

"That's not an answer, doll." He asked again.

"Well I guess you'll never know. Now where is Danvers?" I said, changing the subject.

"I think she is talking to Wanda, over there." He pointed to a small table where they stood chatting.

"Okay, it's been nice talking to you Bucky, but I gotta go greet our guest." I said as I took my drink with me. He smiled back and turned to the bar again.

I walked over to where the two women were stood. "Good evening." I greeted them.

"Oh hey girl, I haven't seen you in ages!" Carol pulled me in for a tight hug, I tensed but allowed her to hug me. Wanda frowned slightly as she noticed this.

"Are you drunk Danvers?" I asked her.

"Yeah, she has had a bit to drink, starting the party before she even got here." Wanda told me.

"Ah, I see." I smiled at them both.

"Let's make this party more interesting!" Carol yelled across the room.

"What do you have in mind?" Tony called back.

"How about truth or dare?" A third voice said.

"Good idea, Romanoff." Tony called everyone over to the middle of the room to play. I rolled my eyes but walked over anyway. We all sat down in a circle and looked at each other. Wanda sat on my left with Bucky on my right. Nat sat across from me between Thor and Cap. Carol and Tony sat on the two opposite sides. Tony to the left of Wanda and Carol to the left of Bucky. "Who starts?" Cap asked.

"I will." Tony looked around the group. "Natasha, truth or dare?"

"Dare." She looked him in the eyes.

"I dare you to drink every time Y/N blushes." He smirked at me, knowing I blush at everything.

"Really Tony? I am going to be wasted, by the end of the night." She sighed looking at me. I felt myself blush and Thor called out, "Drink up!" Nat took a swig from her bottle. "Maybe not for the rest of the night, say the next hour, okay?" Cap compromised. "Fine." Tony agreed. "Nat your turn to ask somebody." Tony said. Nat looked around the ground before her gaze settled onto me, I tried hard not to look at her until she said my name. "Y/N, truth or dare?" her eyes glinted mischievously. I knew I was going to regret whatever she made me do, no matter what option I picked. "Truth" She narrowed her eyes at me. "Who here are you most likely to date?" I closed my eyes tightly, hating the question for reasons none of them knew. "Oh and Wanda can read your mind to see if you are lying." She reminded me. Great, I was going to lie and say one of the boys but I guess not. "Uhmm idk...." I stalled. Everybody was looking at me expectantly and Peter looked worried for me. "GUYS OMG LOOK!!!" Peter jumped up from the circle and ran over to one of the windows. Everyone rushed after him, to see what he was yelling at. I held back and he looked back and nodded at me to leave the room. I mouthed 'thank you' back at him and ran to my room to get changed.

3rd Persons POV

"Theres nothing here." Cap said after 2 minutes of looking out the window. "I swear I saw something." Peter stalled for y/n. "Whatever it was it is gone now, lets just get back to the party." Clint said to everyone. They all agreed and sat back down in a circle, there was now a gap where y/n had sat. Bucky and Wanda looked at the gap between them confused. Peter sat in the gap filling the space before someone could mention it.

Y/N's POV

I had been with the team for about 4 years and I still hadn't told any of them I was gay. Not that it was really any of their business, but I felt that they deserved to know. I trusted them, kind of. I didn't want to keep any secrets from them but I just wasn't ready to tell anyone, last time I came out my parents freaked and kicked me out their house. I guess I told Peter but he was a kid and too terrified of me if I threatened him to say anything, he just proved he was on my side though I guess.

I sighed and slipped my heels off before stepping out of my dress and changing into what I had on when I collected Peter. A pair of black jeans, a navy blue tank top and a pair of black trainers. I wiped my makeup off my face and pulled on a jacket over my shoulders. "Jarvis, I'm going out on a walk, if anybody other than Peter asks where I have gone, please don't tell them. Only tell Peter if he is alone, can you do that for me?" I asked the AI interface.

"I can do that for you however I advise against not letting them know of your location." JARVIS replied.

"I know but you can tell Peter and I won't be long, just need to clear my head." I sighed softly

"Okay Y/N, I will do as you wish." JARVIS promised.

I opened my bedroom window and looked down. I was about 5 floors up but the party was being held further up the building so I would only have to worry about somebody looking down and not the whole floor seeing me fly past the window. I put my phone in my pocket and jumped. I used my powers to slow my fall and I landed with a soft thud on the grass. I needed to clear my head so I got up and walked into the city, away from everything. That was until I heard a voice behind me. "Where do you think you are going?" I felt a hand grab my wrist and pull me towards them. My training kicked in and I kicked them in the stomach, hard, before sprinting as fast as possible in the other direction. They caught up to me and swung my legs out from under me before pinning me down and staring at me. "It's just me." Natasha whispered as she slowly got off of me. "What are you doing out here?" She asked.

"I--I just needed to clear my head. I have a lot going on right now and I needed to be away from it all." I confessed.

"I understand, but we do have to spend the next 48 hours together so can I join you?" She said. I looked at her, she was still kneeling above me, knees either side of my hips and her hands to the side of my head. She wasn't going to let me go unless I let her. "Okay yeah, let's go." I said quietly. She got off of me and dusted down her outfit. I noticed that she had changed. She held out her hand and I grabbed her wrist pulling myself up. She smiled at me and began to walk ahead. "Wait!" I called after her. "What are you doing?" I needed answers.

"What do you mean princess?" She reverted back to my nickname, which always gave my stomach a fluttery feeling.

"You. Why are you being nice to me? We hate each other. We always argue. We never get along and I know for a fact that you do not want to be here with me right now. You would rather be at the party arguing with Stark about him forcing you to spend the next 48 hours with me. Also you had to get changed to come meet me, after you noticed I was gone, which meant you chose to be here. What is going on?" I begged for answers.

"Well we are teammates, I am just looking out for you. I don't hate you y/n, in fact I have grown to rather like you. I argue with you because it is fun winding you up and I flirt with you because I like making you blush and smile in a way that you do only for me. I would like to be arguing with Stark right now but not about spending the next 48 hours with you. I noticed that you left as soon as I asked that question during the game and Peter obviously knows something I don't, because he distracted us all for you." She looked at me expectantly.

"Look I don't want to talk about it right now okay, it's kind of personal." I muttered as I looked at the ground. Nat tilted her head and then walked up to me, I began to back away but she kept walking towards me. I kept walking back until my back thudded against a tree trunk. As I tried to step around the tree, Nat grabbed my waist and held me against the bark. I held me head down and tried to ignore the fact she was so close to me.

"Tell me what is going on Princess." She whispered into my ear, like she did in the gym earlier.

"N-n-nothing. Nothing is going on." I lied again.

"You're lying, I can tell." She pushed my head up so I was looking at her. "I'm not moving until you tell me." She said as she pressed me further against the bark. I waited a few moments as I looked at her, trying to see if she was bluffing. I could see she was being serious.

"Fine, but let go of me first." I told her. She let go but didn't move, blocking my way out.

"Tell me." She kept her eyes focused on me.

"O-okay. So you know when I was 14 my parents died right?" I began.

"Yeah, what does that have to do with anything?" She asked confused.

"Just bare with me. What you don't know is my parents kicked me out when I was 12, I told them that... I told them." I paused taking a deep breath.

"Told them what princess?" Nat asked, her body relaxing as she knew I wasn't going to try and run any more. I looked at her and saw only concern in her eyes.

"I told them that I was gay." I waited for her reaction. She didn't say anything. "I like girls, and only girls. My parents were the first people I ever came out to and the freaked so they kicked me out and since then I decided I wasn't going to 'come out' anymore. People could just figure it out themselves." I licked my lips as they dried out from talking.

"Peter knew this?" She asked.

"Yeah I told him earlier today, some kid called me Peter's girlfriend and I told the kid I didn't like men and then Peter asked what I meant and I told him. When you asked me that question during truth or dare, I planned on lying and saying Thor or Steve, but then you promised to have Wanda check if I was lying or not and I didn't want you guys to know yet. Peter knew this and distracted you guys while I slipped out for a walk, and now we are here." I looked at her, waiting to see what she would say.

"Oh okay." She looked away from me. "Just so you know, I support you. I wish you would have told me before though." She said.

"What tell you? The person who for the past four years has hated me, argued with me and generally made me feel uncomfortable." I looked her in the eyes, with a sad sort of anger.

"I'm sorry, y/n, when you first joined the avengers, I had some problems that I was working through. It took me a year to get through them and by then you already thought I hated you and I didn't know how to change that so I just went along with it. But the truth is I really don't hate you, at all." Nat confessed, voice barely above a whisper.

"Yeah well, maybe that is true but it doesn't change the fact that you not talking to me or hating me or whatever is a big reason why I am so miserable!" I yelled at her face.

"What do you mean, y/n?" She tried to stay calm.

"Nothing, just leave me alone." I muttered as I shoved her away from me. Caught unawares she stumbled back and I used the opportunity to teleport away.

"Damn." She kicked a stone at the edge of the tree base and turned back to the compound.
