《Natasha x Y/N》Chapter 3

Y/N's POV
It was late afternoon by now, I had finished my training and I walked back into my room to grab a clean set of clothes and to freshen up. I didn't shower as I knew I would only have to do it again later. Instead I grabbed my deodorant and sprayed. I stepped into a pair of grey sweatpants with a big comfy jumper on your torso. It was warm so I didn't bother with a t-shirt underneath. Besides no one was going to see.
I also threw my hair into a messy bun and walked down stairs into the kitchen where Rogers was making lunch. "Oooh good." I said, as i jumped onto the counter and smelt the familiar waffle scent. "Are you making those for everyone?" I asked. "Anyone who wants some, can have some, but seeing you're here, you can set the table for those who are gonna join us." He told me. Sighing I jumped back down, washed my hands and grabbed some plates out. Laying them on the counters surface I leaned forward, "Are we training against each other later? Nat seemed to think so." Steve turned to face me, a slight frown across his face. "You've seen Nat this morning?" I nodded my head, confused at his confusion. "Yeah, she made breakfast and I went to train. I think she went on a run too." You omitted certain details. Another figure stepped into the room. "That is not exactly what happened is it, Y/N?" I rolled my eyes, annoyed she couldn't leave you alone for one day. "What Natasha?"
Nat's POV
Seems about right, Y/N never admits when she had done something wrong. Rogers just looked between the two of us as we shot daggers at the other. Breaking the silence he asked if I wanted any waffles. I smirked and said yes, because I knew this would annoy Y/N as she got less food. "I'm surprised you're still hungry." I gave Y/N a pointed look. She feigned innocence, causing Steve to ask what I meant. "She stole my breakfast this morning, using sly deception to turn my back. I'll get her back though, in training." I bit at Y/N who gulped and looked at the ground. Steve only chuckled and took the stack of waffles he had prepared and set them in the centre of the table. Steve sat down at one of the three placemats. The one sat on the other side of the table. This means I have to sit next to Y/N for at least half an hour as we ate. She seemed to realise this too and pushed her matt further away from mine as she sat down. I just laughed to myself, it was so easy to scare Y/N. She really was afraid of me, even if she pretended otherwise. She knew that I knew this, and pretended to be a cocky little shit to try and hide it. I bit back a laugh and brought my plate over to the table and started to eat.
Tony and Clint walked in about 10 minutes later, declaring that the smell of waffles had awoken them. Y/N giggled loudly at Tony's horrific joke. It was a really pretty laugh. It bubbled from deep within her and actually nearly made me smile. I checked myself. This was Y/N everything about them annoyed you. "Really Y/N how childish." I scolded her. Her face dropped as she listened to what I said. I felt a pang of guilt in my stomach which I ignored. "Honey." Her head pricked up as she looked at me with a strange expression on her face. "Pass me the honey." I clarified. A look of understand crossed Y/N's face and she passed me the honey blushing furiously. I noticed this and deliberately made our hands touch as I took it from her. Her eyes darted up to mine and her lips parted slightly, before she pulled away and turned back to her food. Interesting. I decided I was going to mess with Y/N in training.

After lunch we all hung out in the living room, all except for Y/N, she escaped the second she could. "Leave her." I said as Bruce stood up to fetch her back. The others looked at me but said nothing. We talked for a few hours and discussed upcoming events like any Stark parties or internships we should know about. Eventually Steve stood up and said we should go and train. The others all nodded in agreement and left to put on their suits. I turned to leave but as I did Steve called out after me. "Go and get Y/N, make sure they make it there alive." Sarcasm laced his words. I held my tongue, nodded stiffly and went to my room. I changed out of my running gear and put on my suit, I made sure my Widow bite was secured properly and I had my knife sheathed to my thigh. I let my hair hang loose around my shoulders after having straightened it that morning. Walking into the hall I sighed and knocked on Y/N's door. Not hearing a reply I pushed the door open and walked in. Y/N was lying on her bed, listening to music and reading a book. In that state there was no way that she was going to hear me. I strided across the room and grabbed Y/N's book from their hands. "Hey!" She protested. "Training is in 5 minutes." I said as I disconnected her earphones from her phone. I turned around to leave. "Wait," She called after me. "What now Y/N?" I rolled my eyes. She pointed at my hand and I realised I still had her book. I sighed and walked back to her, handed the book over and walked down to the training room to meet the others.
Y/N's POV
"Hey!" I protested as Nat grabbed the book I had been reading out of my hands, not gently either. "Training starts in 5 minutes." She told me gruffly. I sat up and waited for here to give my book back, when she walked away, book still in hand, I called out to her, "Wait," She looked annoyed. "What now Y/N?" Loathing radiated from her, and while I was slightly afraid of her, I did want my book back and so I pointed at it. Sighing she handed it over to me and left me to get changed. I turned my music off, after Nat had rudely and unnecessarily disconnected it. I got up and changed for the third time that day, into the suit that Tony had made for me. It was identical to Natasha's but had red lines on the inside arms and on the outside leg. I really liked my suit, other than the fact it was so much like Nats'. I tied my hair into a proper ponytail and ran down to the training room, not wanting to be late. Rushing in the others looked at me. "Where have you been Y/N training started 10 minutes ago?" Steve looked at me. "What? No it didn't, Nat told me that.." I trailed off as I realised that she had done this to me on purpose. Steve must have realised too because he dropped the matter of my tardiness, despite being a stickler for punctuality. Tony called us all over to the boxing ring where he was holding a top hat in his hand. We looked at him, waiting for an explanation. "Everyones names are in this hat. You will pick out a name and that is the person that you will be fighting." Everyone agreed that this made it a bit more interesting. "Wait, there's more." He had a playful glint in his eye that I did not like. "The person you pick is also the person you get to spend the next 48 hours with." We looked at him dumbfounded. "48 hours!?" I yelled. "What if I pick Natasha, I would never make it out alive!" Bruce and Steve nodded in agreement. "Well then, that's a perfect reason for you two to spend more time together. Hopefully you can overcome this silly feud." He tossed our names out of the hat and passed it to Bruce to pick out his opponent. "Vision" He stepped forward and the two of them passed the hat to Wanda, "Clint" She said, smiling and Steve picked out Tony. Steve told us to go and spar with our partners for a bit, just practicing basic punching, blocking. Everyone left to find a different area of the room to train in until it was just me and Nat stood besides the ring.

So far I had avoided looking at her, I was the reason we were in this mess. "Lets just train" I mumbled, not looking at her. I stepped in the ring and reached for the boxing gloves, I didn't want Nat to be punching me. I turned around and I began to wrap my hands. As I did, Nat sighed and walked over to the ring. I pushed the ropes down with my foot, allowing her to enter easier. She swooped in and stood up glaring at me with those perfect green eyes. I caught myself. No, you do not like her. She hates you and is always mean to you. You reminded yourself. You realised you had been staring at her the whole time you thought this and pulled at the material around your neck, wishing your suit was a little looser. She was still looking at you. Clearing your throat you stepped away and grabbed her some hand pads for you to punch. She put them on, adjusted her stance and nodded at you. She still hadn't spoken a word, but looked as though she was constantly stopping herself from speaking. Shaking your head you cleared your thoughts of the deadly assassin and instead concentrated on punching.
Nat's POV
I felt a muscle in my jaw twitch as Y/N like the idiot she is, complained about me to Tony. He just smirked and instead forced me to be with her. I hated her for that, right now I could be sparring with Clint or Steve but no, I'm stuck here with her. I tried to be civil and so I didn't speak to her, anything I was gonna say would have been mean and hurtful. Instead I went along with it and allowed Y/N to punch my hands. She was doing better than this morning, and had taken on my criticism. We sparred for about 5 more minutes, I let her do all the punching knowing she needed the practice and that it would tire her out for the next part of training. Steve called us all into the middle, where we were practicing and said that we would be moving on to tackling your opponent. We nodded and they went to leave but Steve stopped them. "We are going to do this as a team exercise. We will learn a move, go away and practice and then come back, okay?" The others all agreed. "Seeing as you are already In there why don't you and Y/N try and tackle the other." Steve looked at me, expecting resistance. I just smirked "Sure, why not" I turned back to Y/N who was staring at me, eyes wide, lips parted and breathing heavily. Oh this was going to be fun.
We faced each other from opposite sides of the ring and raised our fists, protecting our faces. I stepped forwards, and swung my hand forwards lightly to test how far away Y/N was. She was quick on her feet and hopped away from me. I stepped back and observed her. She was nervous. Eyes flicking all over the place, she couldn't stand still and her arms were quaking slightly. I decided to finish this quickly. I ran at her, and tackled her to the ground. Her back hit the ropes of the ring as she slumped down quickly. I went to put her in a headlock but she had rolled out of my grip and was already back on her feet. I smirked at her, before swinging my legs out in front of me and hooking one foot behind her ankle, sweeping them apart. She lost her balance and fell down with a huff. As she fell I took that opportunity to get up and stand above her. She glared at me from the floor and tried to copy my movements. I was too fast and instead took her outstretched arm, twisted it behind her head and pinned her to the matt, with my body onto of hers. My arms above her head as I held her down and her legs between mine as I stopped her from moving. She panted heavily and stared up at me as I looked down at her. Our breathing fell into the same rythm, and I realised how close our bodies were. I pushed myself off of her and stood up. Looking back down I realised Y/N was still laid there. I smirked as I saw her blushing and trying to hide her face. I considered holding my hand out to help her but before I could she propelled herself to her feet and left the ring, joining the team on the ground.
