"Hey babe im home!" I shout, placing the box of regret that will most absolutely get me killed, onto the counter.
I waltz into the lounge with a big smile on my face. "What did you do?" She questions, glaring at me blankly.
I pause and furrow my brows. My friend, you are quick to judge. Can't I just smile and be happy? It's offensive that she always thinks I've done something if I'm not miserable.
"Nothing....?"
She raised her brow at me as I continued to stand there with an uncontrollable smile. "Firstly, you went out with Yelena and Bucky. Secondly, you have that shit eating smile on your face. Cut the shit and tell me what you did this time."
"I'm just happy Natasha I don't know what you mean-"
"Did you break something?" She questions, knitting her arms together in a tight knot. "No?"
"What did you buy y/n tell me."
I chuckled at her and continued to glare at her with fake confusion. "I love you so much-" I said smirking at her.
Obviously she just wasn't having it. "I love you too, now what did you do?"
"I did nothing!" I defend, walking over and planting kisses all over her face. She groans at me. "Stop- that's gross-" she whined, trying to pull me away.
"Why are you blushing then?" I giggled, standing up again. "You want a glass of water Natty? I'm gonna make you a glass of water because I love you so much-" I smiled, walking over to the counter and filling her a glass.
I place it down in front of her, but she continued to burn her eyes into me. "Have you ever-"
"Y/n." She interrupts with all seriousness. "Tell me what you did, or I'll throw this glass at you and knock that grin right off of your smug little face." She warns. I sigh and head back over to where the box was. Her threats don't scare me anymore, I know she deep down loves me with her whole heart, so no matter what I do, I'll be fine.
I walk back over and smile. "If you don't have my will to live in there then I don't want to see it."
"Okay- don't kill me but-" I sighed placing the box down and slowly opening it. I picked up the puppy inside and held it up.
She literally just glared at me as if I had pulled out a fat tarantula or something exotic and scary. "Look babe it's a dog-" I say patting its head.
"I can fucking see that-" she mumbled, crossing her arms. I sit down next to her and place the dog on my lap.

She shifts away at me and glares at blankly. "Are you mad?" I asked quietly. She had little to no emotion on her face, so I can't read her right now. That's alarming.
The dog then starts to sniff and lick her hand, causing her to move further away. I chuckled at her and watched as the dog continued to move closer to her.
She then stood up, far away from it, and crossed her arms. "Ok, haha funny joke, you can take it back to the shelter now."
I frowned at her and stroked the dog softly. "What? Are you afraid or something? It won't bite you-"
"No. I'm not afraid." She snapped. She's definitely afraid. "Tony will go ballistic when he finds out there's a mutt living in his damn tower." She added.
"Nope. I already asked him, he was cool with it." I smile at her. "What about Clint? He's allergic."
"He doesn't care, he's barely even here nat, he doesn't live here anymore, remember."
"Oh so you told everyone you were getting a dog except for me?" She says sadly. "I thought it would be a nice suprise-"
"Oh yes a lovely surprise-" she muttered sarcastically. "Nat just sit down-" I say patting a spot next to me. She shook her head and continued to cross her arms.
"He's like a child, but you don't have to do as much-" I say giving him belly rubs. "Maybe I don't want children? At least when you have children, you have a 9 month warning." She says sternly.
"But Nat he's adorable-" I frown. "You're also adorable, doesn't mean that I want to keep it."
"Just sit down and get to know him- he won't hurt you Natasha." I say calmly. "Oh yes, hi dog, how are you today? Oh what was that? You want to go back to the shelter? Ok great let's go then-"
"Nat-" I whine.
"You told me to get to know it." She sighs. I just glare at her, and she finally sits down as far away as possible. I place the dog on her lap causing her to tense up.
"See he likes you. Stroke his fur like this-" I move closer and start stroking him. She slowly does the same, though it was obvious she was nervous.
The dog then starts licking her hand again, making her push him away. "Nat you can't just push him like that!" I whine.
She just muttered something under her breath in reply. "Are you scared of him?" I ask with all seriousness.
She went quiet and shook her head.
"I promise he won't hurt you. He just likes you, he wants to play-" I say as he sits back on her lap. "It looks like it's going to bite me." She whispered.

After a little longer, she started slowly stroking him again. Suddenly Wanda and vision walk in, causing him to bark.
Natasha flinched and grabbed him off of her lap. "Y/n-" she whined, holding him up in the air. I chuckled at her and placed him on the floor.
"I'm gonna have to teach you how to carry a dog-" I giggled. "Hey boy-" Wanda says, crouching down and playing with him.
"Aw you're so cute-" Wanda says in a playful voice. "Happy to see that Natasha hasn't sliced you open yet-" she chuckled.
"Yet." Natasha mumbled. The dog then goes running back to Natasha, asking to be placed on her lap. "Why is it looking at me like that-" she mumbled, moving her legs away from him.
"He wants you, just hold him and put him on your lap." I replied. She contemplated it forever, as if her whole life depended on it.
"You do it-" she whined, glaring over at me. "Nat come on, you can do it. Just pick him up."
She sighed and slowly picked him up. The way she was holding him was scary I'm not gonna lie. If she ever gets the chance to hold onto a baby, I'm going to have to step in and do it myself, because she would certainly drop it.
"Why are you holding onto him as if he's got a disease-" Wanda laughed. "How am I supposed to hold him? By his fucking ears or something?"

It's been a couple of hours since I gave her the big surprise. I was now on my way back with takeout. I left the dog with Natasha, but I'm sure she was fine. Hopefully she hasn't locked him in a room or something dramatic...
I walk into our room, onto to see her asleep in bed with the dog on top of her. How cute. I smile and place the food on the table.
She immediately wakes up and furrows her brows. "You two are certainly best buddies-" I chuckled. She groaned and rubbed her eyes.
"It's not so bad-" she sighs, slowly stroking his head. "Ok we're going to need a name, because you keep referring to him as "it" as if he's invaluable."
"Can't we just call it dog?"
I chuckled at her shook my head. "You think of a name-" I say passing her food to her. She thought about it for a second.
"What about Natasha?" She questions. I laugh at her and shook my head. "I don't think so-" she sighed and went quiet again.
"What about something like gavin, or like Timothy?" She questions with all seriousness. "I like oksana maybe or like svetlana?" She went on.
"They sound nice, much better than gavin-" I chuckled. "Yeah they're Russian, I don't know you can pick if you even like them-" She mumbled.
"Hmm...I like Svetlana-" I smile at her. "Really? Me too-" she said happily. "If I had a kid then that's what I would name it." She smiles sadly, petting the dog again.
"Thought you didn't want kids-" I teased, grabbing onto her empty plate and putting it aside as I got into bed next to her.
"Yeah well- it's not like I can anyway, but if I were to suddenly have one in my possession that's what I would name it. Or I would name it y/n-" she smiles, wrapping her arm around me.
"Oh sorry- I forgot about that-" I mumbled quietly. Her past is so upsetting, and whenever it accidentally comes up, I feel really awful about it.
"It's ok, not your fault-" she smiles. "Don't ever name your kid after me though, that would not be cute-" I chuckled.
She rolled her eyes at me. "Yeah if I were to name it after you it would probably be a crazy devil child-" she chuckled.
"Thats just mean-" I frown falsely at her. She kissed my nose, and then my lips, but then svetlana jumps on top of us and starts sniffing my nose.
She pulls away from the kiss and glared at the dog with confusion. Suddenly he jumps on top of her and kicks her face. "That's gross-" she groaned, picking him up in the air.
I chuckled at her as she placed the dog back down on her lap, wiping her face with her sweater. "I knew you would like him..." I smirk, snuggling close to her.
"Also, you really need to stop grabbing him like that-" I giggled. She rolls her eyes at me and holds onto my hand. "You think I'm gonna let him lick my face?"

a/n
I struggled with the dog names, whoever knows where they're from gets a medal. I have to be at my bsf bday party tomorrow I'm so done like I respectfully hate all of her friends they're so boring. I sound so nasty but we move. Also why is everyone like absolutely cancelling Lizzie Olsen lmao. Am I the only one who listens to the podcast? Like, it's so problematic yes, but doesn't mean I agree with what they say. I don't enjoy that they scream a bunch of offensive slurs, yet it's a great podcast. This a/n is so long but they're neek to write, I was called polish today by some man in the street cause of my faint accent. live laugh love I guess.

Mud's Mission
The story begins with an elderly hermit mage living on the outskirts of a labyrinth town. Invoking spellwork that is trivial for a mage of his caliber, he creates a simple mud automaton to aid him in household chores. However, in the middle of his efforts, something goes wrong; his ancient heart finally fails. Now, half complete and with limited understanding of the world, an artificial being of mud stirs. Despite its limitations, it has a mission to fulfill. The last instructions of a dying creator. "Defend my home, and my possessions." To the mechanical mind of Mud, only absolute perfection is acceptable when fulfilling the orders of The Master. Mud will make sure nothing in the universe will ever threaten The Master's home! --- This fiction contains RPG elements such as skills and levels. The protagonist has an inhuman mind and acts on instincts and preferences that are completely different from those of a normal human, and may at times fly in the face of common sense. The general tone is lighthearted, but there are some scenes with disturbing content such as mind control and references to torture. Join our Discord to discuss the novel or chat with the author.

The Genesis System
Genesis. It is the end of countless stories. The end of thousands of universes, billions of planets, and trillions of lives. But what is taken may also be given, as shown in the story of Cael King. A young man of Earth, knowing only a life of study and work in the relentless and endless pursuit of satisfaction. This is the origin of his story. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inspired by the system used in The Legend of Randid.ly Ghosthound. The system is an homage but the characters, world, and story are unique. I will post as often as I can and, given that I am not starting work until July, that should be pretty frequently. If you have any suggestions or comments please feel free to leave them as this is my first story and I'd love to improve both it and my writing style. This is my Patreon. Of Men and Dragons, Book 1
Book 1 is now available on Kindle, or in paperback/hardcover! You can buy it here! Jack crash-landed on a planet where the natives are seven-foot-tall carnivorous cat-lizards currently somewhere between stone and bronze age. The good news is the natives think the ship that crashed into their mountain is a dragon and are steering clear of it. The bad news is they just left one of their own as a sacrifice to appease the beast. No matter what Jack and his AI co-pilot decide, his life just got a lot more complicated... ATTENTION: This is soft sci-fi rather than hard sci-fi, hence why I chose that tag. For those of you unfamiliar with the distinction, here's what Wikipedia had to say. 1. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences (for example, anthropology, sociology, or psychology), rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences (for example, physics, astronomy, or chemistry). 2. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction. Soft science fiction of either type is often more concerned with character and speculative societies, rather than speculative science or engineering. The term first appeared in the late 1970s and is attributed to Australian literary scholar Peter Nicholls.
